I like the BMW and would have that over any of them. The Alpha, although has the Italian styling which is unmatchable, does have the reliability issues and parts are expensive and take too much time to arrive. The Honda, well I hate Honda drivers. Get the BMW328.

@007Knightjp It IS the best looking, quickest, and best handling. But even when looked after they are NOT reliable. Just go on parkers.co.uk and read some of the owner reviews.
The bottom ends let go after 100k, the suspension wears badly, the engine electrics are unreliable, and they are also quite thirsty and have poor crash resistance. Plus alfa dealers aren't known for their great service, which is bad news because you'd be visiting them a lot!
@soundseeker63 I currently own a 156 an truthfully... you are absolutely right about the reliability issues. But my car has a major flaw... me. I loan it out to my brother, who isn't careful with it hand drives it hard and harsh.. As a result I've had to change the brakes more often and the suspension bushes. In addition I've had it rammed in the rear twice by careless drivers in large SUVs....
Not at all a good time... If I were more careful, I'd probably have a better time with it.
That said, the fact that I carelessly loaned it constantly to someone who isn't careful with it is reason enough for me to be completely engulfed with repair costs, traffic fines...... and for my bad fortune, I had to endure to accidents in which the Alfa was rammed in the rear by careless "cocks" in SUVs....
My careless gave me reliability issues.... not the car.

@tefalcho I currently own an Alfa 156 like the one in the video and frankly, its a lot better built than you think. I haven't faced any of the issues people complain about.
We had a '97 Mondeo for 10 years, and it never missed a beat. The biggest downfall with the old Mondeos is usually rust, or cracked bumpers. But if you get a good one, you usually end up with a very good car. And yes, its great to drive, even today.
Honda is the Daddy of all these cars, today in 2011 these old Hondas are still on the roads the only alfa 156 on the road are the 5cyl diesels, fords in scrap yards and all the Primeras were bought up by the mini cab firms who drove them into the cobbles.

@tbaggy15 the accord looks more dull than a 2-year-old bill from your old insurance company. The Alfas looks may not please everyone, but it stands out from the rest, which is a great thing. I would go for an A4 though.

id have the primera, black with bronze rims and lowered, it would look better than the alpha, he is obvilusly biased towards alpha just because he likes it doesnt mean its a better car, id have japanese build quality and reliability than italian poor build quality.
If you compare today BMWs with plastic buttons to the actual VWs materials the BMWs just aren't worth the money anymore. the VWs are build in a better way. Sure, they're boring, but saloons are boring. VWs and Ford build surely the best frontwheeldrivecars.
@discocreator76 Rubbish cars? Get real. VW are the only few who actually use gas pistons to hold bonnets up even on the cheapest of VW's and they are the quietest cars to be in. They use decent carpets and materials on all models. I have never seen them at the bottom of any list. Try Ford, Renault and GM they are what you call bad quality. Old bent rods to hold the bonnets up, clanky bonnets, wonky sheet metal, seals, trims and parcel shelves falling apart, rattling interiors, leaks...
@1ns4ne1d10t Actually, I have a Xsara that has gas pistons for the bonnet (that still work, which is more than you can say for the VW shit that last a year at best) and so did my Peugeot 406. VW have recently come near bottom of the JD power survey in all models and my experience of these awful cars backs that up. Faulty seatbelts, leaking, brittle window rubbers (BMW are just as bad), failing electrics everywhere, premature rust, poor paint, corroding alloys, stroppy dealers, horrible cars!!!

@007Knightjp It IS the best looking, quickest, and best handling. But even when looked after they are NOT reliable. Just go on parkers.co.uk and read some of the owner reviews.
The bottom ends let go after 100k, the suspension wears badly, the engine electrics are unreliable, and they are also quite thirsty and have poor crash resistance. Plus alfa dealers aren't known for their great service, which is bad news because you'd be visiting them a lot!

@soundseeker63 I currently own a 156 an truthfully... you are absolutely right about the reliability issues. But my car has a major flaw... me. I loan it out to my brother, who isn't careful with it hand drives it hard and harsh.. As a result I've had to change the brakes more often and the suspension bushes. In addition I've had it rammed in the rear twice by careless drivers in large SUVs....
Not at all a good time... If I were more careful, I'd probably have a better time with it.

That said, the fact that I carelessly loaned it constantly to someone who isn't careful with it is reason enough for me to be completely engulfed with repair costs, traffic fines...... and for my bad fortune, I had to endure to accidents in which the Alfa was rammed in the rear by careless "cocks" in SUVs....
My careless gave me reliability issues.... not the car.

We had a '97 Mondeo for 10 years, and it never missed a beat. The biggest downfall with the old Mondeos is usually rust, or cracked bumpers. But if you get a good one, you usually end up with a very good car. And yes, its great to drive, even today.

Honda is the Daddy of all these cars, today in 2011 these old Hondas are still on the roads the only alfa 156 on the road are the 5cyl diesels, fords in scrap yards and all the Primeras were bought up by the mini cab firms who drove them into the cobbles.

If you compare today BMWs with plastic buttons to the actual VWs materials the BMWs just aren't worth the money anymore. the VWs are build in a better way. Sure, they're boring, but saloons are boring. VWs and Ford build surely the best frontwheeldrivecars.

@discocreator76 Rubbish cars? Get real. VW are the only few who actually use gas pistons to hold bonnets up even on the cheapest of VW's and they are the quietest cars to be in. They use decent carpets and materials on all models. I have never seen them at the bottom of any list. Try Ford, Renault and GM they are what you call bad quality. Old bent rods to hold the bonnets up, clanky bonnets, wonky sheet metal, seals, trims and parcel shelves falling apart, rattling interiors, leaks...

@1ns4ne1d10t Actually, I have a Xsara that has gas pistons for the bonnet (that still work, which is more than you can say for the VW shit that last a year at best) and so did my Peugeot 406. VW have recently come near bottom of the JD power survey in all models and my experience of these awful cars backs that up. Faulty seatbelts, leaking, brittle window rubbers (BMW are just as bad), failing electrics everywhere, premature rust, poor paint, corroding alloys, stroppy dealers, horrible cars!!!

And all were disappointing, the VWs were by far the worst with the BMW coming a close second, endless trim, electrical and design issues plagued every day when I owned these overrated heaps of shit. As far a them coming bottom of surveys, why dont you LOOK and see that 4 vw models came in the bottom 170 cars in the 2005, 06 and 07 JD power surveys!!

The '98 Golf broke down 3 times in 3 months all with different electrical faults (was was 5 months old!) the 98 Polo was a rust bucket, as was the Vento but only worse, '93 Golf was a absolute joke, horrible cheaply made piece of shit... you are a prick to carry on being blinded by the bullshit
