It is so seldom one sees a Soutine. I saw one or two at the Norton Museum in Palm Beach a long time ago. He is just so wonderful. All of the friends to whom I forwarded your slide show love it.
I used to have an artist friend in Mexico who painted beautifully, could strum his nose after three gins, and swore by Soutine on everything. Heh, heh. He was Carlos Lopez Ruiz, a Columbian by birth.
Yes, he's a surprise to many. I had a friend from Columbia, artist Carlos Lopez Ruiz, who swore by Soutine, occasionally imitated his style, and got me interested in him.
Even if his work is ^deformed^ he managed to have it tied with reality, and its alive.
After him many many tried to do do same and failed. (and made much more money than he ever made).

Probably. I have a huge collection of Spanish and flamenco guitar. It might have been any of them. I love that kind of music!

I've been looking for a book that prints his work, do you know of anywhere I could find something like that?
