  • I'm starting to think that maybe the Old Calendarists are not so wrong after all...? Orthodox Bishops making trips to Rome for no other reason than to be seen with the pope is going a bit further than extending Christian charity.

  • though the differences when we pray...we still belong under one banner and one father...why cant we just respect each other...do you think God want His children to argue and fight one another?

  • .

Remember leaders of different Christian sects, the will of God is undivided Christianity. Give up your churches, no more Catholic, Protestants, Adventist, JW etc. If you think that I am wrong then prove that you are right. Ive asked the Lord for the two simultaneous explosion of volcano in the U.S. within this month of December, pray that it wouldnt happen, if despite of your prayer it does happen, then know that God is with me therefore you have to listen to me.

    .

  • I thyink its fair to say they don't teach you that in your Roman Catholic schools.

The Celtic Churches were cdenturies older than the 4th century papal system. The first 'universal bishop' was appointed by imperial decree in the early 7th century. The Celtic (Culdee) Churches sent Columbanus to Italy to confront this arrogant man who calls himself the Pope. We have the correspondance to prove that the Celtic churches were Protestants in flat opposition to the false church of Rome.

  • ..After the fall of Pagal Rome, the Celtic Churches evangelised all the lands from Iceland to north Italy..Iceland, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland. Holland and even reaching as far as Russia. All evangelised by the Celtic Churches!! The Celtic church in Ireland was eventually usurpsed in 1155, conquered by the sword after Papal Rome sent the Anglo-normans in 1066. Remnants of the Celtic Church in Scotland lasted right down til the AV1611 was authorised.

  • Most catholics don't know the 1,700 year true history of the papacy. During the Roman empire there were 10 great persecutions of Christians from Nero-Diocletian. He was the emperor who had medals made with the inscription 'the Christians are no more'. Christianity found refuge beyond the bounds of the empire (Hadrian's wall). The Roman empire transformed itself into an ecclesiastical empire with the same persecuting spirit as the old empire (600 year long Inquisition etc)..

  • Christ is The head of The Church not the papacy. It was only on the rock of THE FAITH Peter was being taught by Christ(away from jot & tittle Judaism) the same as He was teaching all his followers. And still does . He said "I will build MY CHURCH"! Catholic means "at all times in all places" There are teachings from Rome where such is NOT true; Purgetory, indulgences, the procession of The Holy Spirit... I could go on. Only Orthodoxy is humble to say "we cannot change The Faith once delivered..

  • Yes Christ is the Rock. Purgatory is a lie. The 'keys to the kingdom' are Peter's confession of faith. The early Christian Church was in Jerusalem (not Rome) and it was the Apostle James (not Peter) who exercised administrative authority in the early Church. Peter was never in Rome.

  • @Islandretreat the same believes the catholics hold now . I believe u have have the truth with u and i agree with alot u say though it is not the full truth that comes from the rcc. thats why i say u are in partial communion.

  • @Islandretreat Go away, protestant bigot. Inform yourself, before proclaiming lies on a video.

  • The Roman Church has continued to follow corrrupted versions of Christ's teaching since 1054! It is not Catholic because it has teachings that were never among the believers of the first 7 councils!

Orthodoxy canot innovate where The Faith is concerned, because there cannot be oecumenical councils until the ego of Rome humbles itself and The Pope reverts to being one of The Twelve again! Not Vicar of Christ.

  • Peter was never in Rome. There is no doctrine too anti-Christian or too un-biblical for the tyrannical Roman Papacy to promote. Idolatry is a sin against God Almighty (Exodus chapter 20). The Roman and Orthodox Churches are not the "True Church". Protestantism is revived Christianity. The teachings of Christ are the seed of Protestantism. The AV1611 Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God and that's why Protestant nations invented the modern world. God blesses nations who obey Him.

  • Of course, the Jesuits of Rome have since infiltrated all the Protestant churches (as well as every other religion on earth). Catholicism, Ecumenism, Globalism, all means the same - a one world Socialist-Comminust Government ruled by the Jesuits and with a one world religion--popery--with the Papal Caesar the universal monarch ruling from Jesrusalem (which is already 60% owned by the white Pope - who is controlled by the Black Pope, the Superior General of the Jesuits)

  • Ecumenism is not Catholic. John himself, the Apostle of love, who seems to reveal in his Gospel the secrets of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and who never ceased to impress on the memories of his followers the new commandment "Love one another," alogether forbid any intercourse with those who professed a mutilated and corrupt version of Christ's teaching: "If any man come to you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house, nor say to him: God speed you."

  • pardon him who doesn't know what he's saying... referring to islandretreat... i hope you study first the history, our faith, and our religion before you say something which causes pain to those who read this site... i think, you must learn to keep your mouth close than to say anything without thinking you hurt somebody... again, study first...

  • God Bless you my Orthodox brothers and sisters,Peace of God Which passes all understanding be with you always,I'm Protestant.

  • "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11. The Roman Papacy is the anti-Christ and Orthodox Christianity isn't much better. Both idolatrous religions leading many people to the unquenchable fire. Don't be a coward and say "hi brothers". Be a friend and tell them the truth. God won't bless Idolaters. Read the Ten Commandments.

  • May our lives be living prayers, showing forth God's hope for the unity of His faithful everywhere.

    God bless the Pope.

  • He was an Archbishop and not Patriarch.

  • God bless the pope!!

  • Amen to the Pope's prayers. May the archbishop rest in peace. May the Holy Spirit guide, sustain, and protect the Orthodox Church as it grows in love, unity, and truth with the Catholic Church.

  • Amen!

  • @wms72 This is a true Christian message. The Orthodox and the Catholic Churches should be one! We share the same truth, although minor differences remain. I'm a Romanian Orthodox, perhaps you know about Pope John Paul the 2nd's visit here, the first of that kind after centuries of separation. Then came Pope Benedict's visit to our Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople. These men perform God's work, bringing (or trying to bring) Christians together as one. Kyrie eleison!

  • Please pray for persecuted Christians in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Constantinople, and everywhere else.

  • yes i agree!!!

    many Christians suffer by muslims...

  • Just saying, he was not a Patriarch, but an Archbishop. Despite being the head of an autocephalous church, he was not a patriarch.

  • He wasn't a patriarch, but he was a great cleric and had done many goods to the Greek Autocephalous Orthodox Church. In Greece Archbishop is the top cleric of the whole Hellenic Nation.
