Then i learnt all about her. She's brilliant !

  • alfredo gomes

  • they are doing test run near in Sunnmøre

  • elsker ax104 ankerbåt<3

  • Weird boat...it looks like it would handle waves well...but... if you ask me i would rather be on somthing like the NORTHWESTERN form deadliest catch. But thats my opinion :)

  • @crayzzriggs i recon billion dollar oil companies probably put a bit more investment into their supply ships than deadliest catch :P (assuming this ship is supplying oil fields etc)

  • I have worked offshore, trust me she is a true beauty a work of art.

  • thats some machine!

  • Beautiful ship!

  • but are you aware that it will handle waves better than other boats in the world appearance is not always counts when .....

  • The "Hottest" AHTS i have ever seen

  • what is that boat used for? shipping trauling?

  • They carry supplies for offshore installations.

  • I'm curious as to how a ship that's designed for nasty weather like that, would handle a rogue wave. I watched a documentary on those yesterday...nasty, nasty creatures.

  • The lift in the x-bow is much greater than a ordenary bow wich gives a much smother motion in rough seas, making it possible to have higher speeds in bad weather. A normal bow don`t have as much lift and relies on the acelerate of the bow shape hitting a wawe.

  • I understand that, but I don't see how it has an advantage if a rogue wave hits it. The Xbow isn't going to help it float when it dips into that trough right before a rogue wave. The wave is also going to break right onto the bridge as well. I was just curious of the designers had that in mind when building it. It is a rather neat looking ship though. Can that design be applied to bigger ships, like supertankers?

  • When the ship hits a bigger wawe it wil rise erlier becus of the enormus lift in the bow. with gradualy acceleration. The bow in the front is also much higher than a normal bow. It breaks the wawes better than a normal bow.

This is the same shape as the viking ships had, the viking ships sailed all the way to america.

The x-bow has proven its self in heavy seas. As the north sea/norwegian sea is one of the tuffest in the world.

  • There not expecting to hit rogue waves when they go out, they vary in size aswell. So they cant make it withstand the biggest wave, seeing as how they dont know what it is. They just estimate

  • DESCRIBE THE SHIP IN 1 WORD : SEX

  • hi, the movies is excellent, thanks ★★★★★

  • its just a return to a pre-drednought bow design that was last used from the mid 1890s to about 1905

  • It is the Ulstein XBow design - was "Ship of the Year" back in 2006 or 2007 - if it is ugly or not is not thequistion here as long as it is effective!

  • I really dont think this ship is ugly, it is a new concept, but it have certain beauty.

  • @Navaltico Yes. I see what you mean....

  • @Navaltico Nicca please i wouldn't let that shit shadow my yacht!@ any weather

  • how are the crew quarters?

  • hi, its a norwegian built ship, therefore the crew accomodation will be fantastic.

  • I would think it to be the new way in ship bow design to me it looks right .

  • at first glance i was like "WTF IS THAT" but now that i take a closer look, it does look like it would provide a more comfortable ride in shitty weather. i wonder if i could get an offshore lobster boat with that design =D

  • @ya19375 call them up and ask i'm sure you could arrange something

  • show us clips in huge waves!!!

  • Search in YT for Bourbon Orca passing Skandi Caledonia and Havila Faith ...there are some fairly large waves there

  • I saw her in Sortland, Nordland. I am sure...

  • KAPAL ANEH...Bro!!!

  • in future how AHTS look like if today bot like this

  • She's very strange, though not ugly at all. I quite like her looks, she's so unique

  • det er jo nasjonalromantisk synest jeg :)

    its nationalromantic I think :)

  • The Ship looks mad... in a futuristic kinda way:)

  • weird shape!

  • Thanks youtube gods no one asked for the name of the song.

  • do you know the name of this song????:)

  • TripleD0T, your uncle is a lucky man to have the knowledge to pilot that ship! The promo video is very awe inspiring. I've never even been to sea but i would give almost anything to work on a ship like that!!I loved "the perfect storm" vid.

  • My uncle drives that boat!

  • What is the nose for? To avoid wetting the nose?

  • its designed to keep the ship more stable in heavy seas, a conventional bow rides up and down, creating a strong pitching motion. the Ulstein X-bow reduces that pitching and makes for a more comfortable ride

  • What a beautiful ship

  • sjuke båt våre inne i den very nice

  • Flotte saker det her assa. Noen som har noe og fortelle om x-bow?

  • yes it is :)

  • beautiful ship
