Jesus didn't come here to preach morals, but to take a few to the next stage of evolution, which is through the spirit. This entails following ways that oppose those of this world and it creates havoc because most have invested their soul in this world. Following his way means abandoning the world, and denying your self, not nurturing it; not indulging in greed, lust, idolatry, vanity, and pride. People hate him and his message, seeking to eradicate it, because they want to God themselves.
@21:00, considering that Luke 19:27 is part of a *parable* Jesus was telling, is it not therefore far fetched to take the 'killing' too literally and conclude he really condone these kinds of acts? Besides, is it not opposed to what is known as the core of his teaching?
@sergiolcjr Watched #1, will watch the rest later. So far:
Tacitus: Too Late! The gospels were out by this time, so this is still proof via Bible. Pliny, too late also. Tacitus, from Pliny, from unknown guy, from the gospels. Not proof, mere speculation.
Lucius: Too Late! All he confirms is the existence of Christians. And the existence of people who believed that Jesus existed. He gives them that concession, and then takes apart the divinity.
Josephus: Not only not proof, but proof that the Church will fake proof if they can, which throws the entire canon into doubt! Think about it.
Proof would be something like a historian in Jesus' time mentioning him. Or maybe mentioning Herod's killing of the firstborn, an event that definitely would have been noticed, but wasn't.
Thanks for replying with a non Biblical source, that's refreshing. But no dice.
That's why you atheist believe that abortion is ok. You people believe that killing is ok. Atheist you are not fooling anyone. Adultury, crime, hate, rape are sin commited by atheist every second of the day. God said sin is at the door, but you atheist are so blind that you can't see that. Keep it up.
Adultery? Crime? Hate? Rape? I'm sorry, but where the hell did you get your data from? You seem to have fallen for a rather harsh stereotype. Although that's not a good word. Atheists are not detached from morality (as I think Stef proves quite nicely by what he is doing), as well as believers (or religious people) are not automatically moral. You only prove your ignorance, by saying the above, and I quite honestly beg of you to come to at least some level of reason. Update your definitions.
@onetocome I'm a Christian. I believe that abortion is great, because it sends souls to heaven before they have the chance to make moral choices, and thus perhaps be doomed to hell. Does that mean that all Christians believe in abortion?
Well thought out! Atheism is self defense of dogmatic repercussions! The logic and scholastic worth of EVERY theist-based document or other source should be able to be duplicated! If the logic or scholastic work cannot be duplicated then the original document is not necessarily true. Other alternative ways of understanding our world are necessary as a self defense against religious dogmatic reproach.
It's to be a spoken word not a written one. I understand this while I'm not a christian. You're talking concepts to literally. To me when Jesus says "I'm not here to bring about peace" perhaps he means he is not going to stand around and accept popular belief. When he talks about "mother and father and mother-in-law" these could be represent ideas from our mothers and fathers. Quoting scripture doesn't always go so swimingly.
i can see why there have been no refutes or contradicting analysis to the points you've made. i idolize your ability to side note, and support your points without leaving your current topic.

If Jesus existed? There is substantial evidence that Jesus lived...do your research! :)

@sergiolcjr I've done all the research, there's no evidence. Can you post some evidence besides the Bible?

@TreachMarkets Please go to "nowheretorun1984 " youtube site and look for "The Evidence for the Existence of Jesus part 1-4"
