  • He sounds like a whiny little kid.

  • I like kidnap the santy claws better

  • Marilyn Manson should've done this song as well, he'd have suited it far better. :/

  • Nothing wrong with this song, but I prefer the original.

  • Whoever it was that came up with who would remake each song was a genius. Ya this one isn't that great but the others (especially This is Halloween which might be the best remake of any song ever)

  • @Nickolas351290 actually this is halloween by marilyn manson is the only song to be feature on the first re-release of the and nightmare revisited. they liked it so much the first time that they just included it on here cause no one could do it better

  • I like how it has a happier, more upbeat tone :3 I honestly enjoy this greatly considering the All American Rejects aren't my favorite...

  • Also it does get it a funny or different sound to jack that is cool

  • It's a good song I just think that it doesn't have the same feel to it...

  • people have no taste in music..i like this song :D

  • @sonicfan11221 YEAH!!! This is my favorite song ON THE ENTIRE CD! I admit it!

  • Yeah.... YUCK. This just hurts my ears. T_T

  • love the revisted of this song

  • Wow. This is just awful. I'm sorry.

  • The black screen's so beautiful !!! :)

  • I must say, this is probably my favorite remake from the movie, other than the Coldplay version of What's This?. I think they did a good job giving Jack a little bit more character, not that he didn't have character in the original, but with the background music and the more contemporary-sounding lead vocals...I think it brings a little more color to the song. :)

  • ok. i agree with fullmetalaang96. this is a remake. dont get on her and go "oh, it has flaws." i feel like my intelagence is dropping everytime i read it. i personally like it. that is why i am listening to it. Get over it's "flaws" and just enjoy it.

  • @masterofcoolness1233 intelligence" =), but yes I agree as well.

  • I love this band, and this song, however this doesn't really set the right mood in my opinion. It's got a few flaws that I have a hard time overlooking. Still not bad though. They should remake this movie with the Nightmare Revisited soundtrack!! :D

  • I fell in love with this movie the first time I watched it, I've seen it over 200 times (and I'm only 13) and have memorised all the songs by heart, not sure why but when Danny Elfman and Tim Burton get together, they're movies just go straight to my heart. (found 3-ish times the song was off from the original, e.i. "screams" replaced "a scream")

  • hm, i don't like the sound of the lead vocals; it sounds too much like talking, almost. i mean, dont get me wrong, i love the movie and this band, but they just didn't do a great job with this. amy lee and flyleaf did the best, in my opinion

  • This has some flaws, but overall, it's EPIC!!!!!!!!!

  • this is supposed to be a rock remake of these songs :)

  • Pretty good remake, could be worse (coff-coff Jacks obsession remake).

  • this is horrible..too whiney

  • @kairiXhikariX Stfu

  • @kairiXhikariX have you HEARD the orginal

  • eh. this cover is okay.. I mean his voice sounds a bit off compared to the background. But still good job.

  • Great song, wrong band :/

  • @RobinRc666 ....this is AAR...

  • @SasukeCaramelldansen im aware of that thank you

  • Seriously, what's wrong with you guys? This sounds great. What, were you expecting him to sound just like Jack? Ha, maybe you should go bag on Flyleaf's cover of "What's This?" then too. I personally love the All American Rejects.

  • @pandorad24 at least fly leaf actually put in lyrics unlike rodrigo who did an instrumental for the oogie boogie song

  • @KrazyEngima Hey thats an epic tune!

  • @Tenshiyami13 personally i think tiger army destroyed rodrigo's version

  • That really felt like it was amazing to me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I personally loved this! :)

  • i like all american rejects...but they're really not meant for this song

  • stop ripping on this video, if you like the original so much, go listen to that!

  • he sounds so flat

  • dude this is awesome!!!! awesome voice :D

  • this is good.you sorta feel jack's sadness with this version

  • Oh, I totally get the movie now.

Jack was only sad because of this remake, it had nothing to do with Christmas at all!

  • i like this, i like the other one. yes the same song. 2 differnt people. its apples and oranges people.

    this kinda sucks tho......

  • D: no, I love All American Rejects. But this is...just....awful D: It depresses me D:

  • why don't people get it? the point of a remade song isnt to make it sound exactly the same as the original. the purpose is to remake a popular song in a different style. this isnt meant to replace the original song, either. just enjoy it and dont be so passionate that you deny anything but danny elfman. i love him, too, but honestly, its not fair to judge someone else's singing just because your a fan of someone else. who says you can't like this one, too?

  • @fullmetalaang96 i agree that a remake is supposed to sound different and the musical arrangement is very nice but his voice timing and phrasing seem a bit off. his voice is very nasally and it just kinda sounds wrong on some parts

  • @MrHeadlessWonder i respect your opinion, but have to disagree. I love the upbeat sound of the singer's voice. But the timing is a bit off...

  • @TheBina737 see that's one of the things though this is supposed to be sad. . . lol it's a lament and i mean i maybe judging too harshly because this is my fav song of the whole movie but i felt it didn't capture the mood of the song.

  • @MrHeadlessWonder Okay you win, it doesn't quite capture the mood. Thanks for debating with me!

  • NONONONO what is this crap?

  • Does he have a cold?

  • No, just no. His voice is too nasaly for this. Maybe once he gets through puberty he'll be able to pull it off.

  • I don't think this is so bad. I like some parts better - but the time when he says "The Pumpkin King" I usually have goosebumps from Jack's voice (and here I didn't)

  • My house key, which I wear arond my neck, has Jack on it :D

  • @Montanaific001 mine too :D

  • @kingofgames209 Thats epic :D

  • it sounds like he doesn't want to sing this song,,, as if it is dragging him on, the original is the best

  • There isn't any emotion. It makes me sad there there are a few songs on here that the ball was just dropped on. He's just singing it and not feeling it. :(

  • @Holmes443 sounds like his voice hasn't broken.

  • sure scared the shit out of me. not

  • Yeah I like All American Rejects but they don't capture the emotion of this song. If you want to here great versions of songs from NBC get the deluxe soundtrack, I personally find those to be better.

  • ok let's get this straight. i'ts a cover. Just a cover. All American Rejects just put their own teist on it like so many other bands have done. If you like Danny Elfman's version better, listen to that one and stop talking about how much better he is. Not hard, not hard at all.

  • I'm sorry....bt his voice doesn't rlly fit for this song.

  • i agree the original is better in presence and emotion, but i still like this song a lot :D

  • The second I heard his voice I made my decision.

  • Love this song by The All-American Rejects!

  • He has a nice voice, but it lacks feeling in them. In this case, the original is better

  • Personally... I like this version more.. idk why, it's just.. better... ._. ..

  • I happen to like this version , though i agree his voice is a little whiny, but hey w/e its good. Not exceptionnal but still good

  • Wtf is wrong with you people ???this version is genius. I mean you can have your opinion but really...

  • omg this is terrible! I am not in the least bit scared of the singer his voice is way too whiny. they should have done a diff song

  • Idk what the hell you people are talking about. I love both version equally, and I love them ALOT!

  • There is emotion in this it just doesn't hit you over the head like Jack's in the original it's more subtle and I think it takes a true music lover to be able to hear the more subtle emotions in any song. I think it's amazing! :)

  • ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • They're just not the right kind of artist to do this.

    Sorry AAR.

  • Why is it that everyone is saying there's no emotion? In my opinion, Tyson did a pretty good job. o.o.

I mean, that opinion could partially be influenced by the fact that I have loved AAR for a couple years, and I haven't seen NBC for even longer, but I personally think that Tyson definitely has a pretty sad sound in his voice while singing.

That could just be me, though. Who knows.

Either way, I think this version is awesome, and I'd rather have this than the original.

  • As far as being musical, it's excellent but as someone else said, there's like no emotion in it.

  • best song in the movie, completely ruined by these fags

  • I was so stoked when i found out they made this CD, and I heard sally's song first, and i couldn't wait to listen to this. But I am disappointed. I like the rejects, but, they shouldn't have done THIS song

  • lol this sounds more like a lullaby

  • There's not enough expression when there needs to be.

  • I just can't stand the lead singer's voice. He just sounds winy. I don't think they fit the song, but I also kind of hate aar. So I'm not really best the judge

  • i love this song when its done by a.a.r. but i must admit if mcr did it that would be incredible

  • @NikkieNeverAgain so true

  • This isnt like...emotional enough..its good and I like TAAR but not the same /:

  • I don't know if it's because I really hate The All American Rejects, but this really really sucks :/

  • I have no problem with A.A.R., Quite a fan, actually... But this is one song by them I can't stand. :l I dunno, I feel like this-is-the-one-song(Other than that one Marilyn Manson did) on the entire album I didn't like... It has its good points, like somewhere close to 1:50 to 2:20, but yeah... I prefer the original to their cover by a long shot.

  • "Oh theres an emptiness inside my bones"

  • @narutoandgarrarule Osteoporosis?

  • @Kumajirou13 Uhhhh uhhhh sure?

  • @narutoandgarrarule Heh, sorry, that was a lame joke, but I'm too tired to do any better ;)

  • @Kumajirou13 xDDDDD its cool I just don't know the word

  • @narutoandgarrarule Oh, ok. Osteoporosis is a disease where the bones start thinning with age, hat line makes me think of that XD

  • I like the original better but this is good too!

  • Sounds good but id like to hear avenged sevenfold sing this also lol i think it would turn out really good LOL

  • Awesome :)

  • I love the wearyness and how they brought of everything together in such a great flow! I loved it~

  • This is supposed to be a Jack's LAMENT...they took all the sorrow out of it. Yuck.

  • @MyKindaBeautiful I agree this is my least favorite

  • The original is much better in this case, I found the singer lacks of presence in his voice for this.

  • @ZippoLes I agree but as far as paying tribute to a huge piece of cult culture, its not bad.

  • @ZippoLes agreed, he needs more power behind his voice

  • @ZippoLes i was going to make a smart ass remark about the singer purposely lacking purpose to his voice to make it sound even worse on himself....

...then i realised that an important part of the description of the word "lament" is "/PASSIONATE/ expression of grief..."

at which point i wrote an unneccessary apology....

  • This is GREAT. <3

  • Good bands + Disney = Just...AWESOME!

  • @xTbaby13x Not Disney Channel. ORIGINAL, PIXAR, ANIMATED Disney. *nod nod*

  • I'm sorry no way, no beats Danny Elfman.

  • I thought it was okay... they could have showed a little more emotion... especially in 1:00 - 1:10

    Otherwise I liked it :D

  • Not that it matters to you guys what my opinion is, but I like it. I can appreciate it

  • no emotion its awful.

  • I don't really like it... they just don't have the right lilt. I don't think this could ever be done better than Jack himself :)

  • I thought they captured the emotion well, I like it .3.

  • WHOOOOOO AMAZIIIIIING

  • This. Is. A. Fail.

  • @sharpy211 Just. Like. The. Internet.

  • Am I the only one who loves this?

  • @LittleMissRoSy1 Nope. I love it! People just don't know good music when they hear it.

  • THIS IS TERRIBLE!! THEY DESTROYED THIS GREAT SONG!!!!

  • @bubblesrock303 Flyleaf SUCKED! Fall Out Boy kicked there ASS in that song!

  • just...disgusting. you fail.

  • They ruined the mood of the song :/

  • @DiLLiGaFLmFaO I dunno, I actually like this song. I mean, I get what you mean, All-American Rejects seem out of place with this album, and definitely wouldn't be my first pick, but they did an awesome job with this song.

  • Where's the emotion? I get this is a lament, but it seems like he's not even trying.Just saying

  • @MissRedRoseAngel ikr he sounds like hes just... talking it really killed the mood of this song..... fail

  • Comment removed

  • how is there not a movie of these songs????

  • Meh.....

  • How is this emotionless? I can practically hear the sadness in his voice at the end, and the sarcasm when he says he's mister unlucky XD I personally love this.

  • Sigh, this is just bad..Someone else def shoulda sang this ^-^

  • FLATTTTTTTT!! >""""<

  • Doesnt sound like something the All American rejects would make. I mean, i understand Shiny Toy Guns and Flyleaf doing Nightmare Before Christmas songs, but AAR? its just strange. lol

They dont pull it off that well. imho. AND I AGREE, MYchemicalRomance would do awesom for this

  • I agree to most of the comments, this song doesn't have any emotion. They pretty much copied the original.

  • ...

where's the feeling? his voice is boring and nasaly.

not strong and deep like like jack's.

  • i love this song

  • i personally love this ;D

  • Damnit! ok, nice interpretation - but I can't but squint at the high & flat nasal vocals when I long for Danny Elfman's movingly rich ability to DRIVE this song HOME.

  • @bubblesrock303

sorry, i gotta disagree with you there, a.a.r. may not have done this song as good as other bands that would be better fit to this song could, but they're still good on their own and i quite like this cover

  • I think AAR sings this beautiful I don't care what you guys say. You can hear the sadness in his voice as Jack was in the movie. <3

  • they need more feeling there's not enough emotion in his voice...

  • This is....not good.

  • lolwut? Is this some sort of joke? :P

I'll just go back to listening to the original song.

  • he needs to work his voice better. Like maybe stop holding his nose.

  • I kinda like this :3 I personally think that they add a different kind of creepy factor.

  • His voice isn't deep enough for the refrain. It just makes him sound whiney.

  • Wtf guys, these guys are epic just like the others. Try to remember the different the song the more times you can act a little more intense, wich is what I really liked in the movie anyways. I like all the remakes on the disc.

  • @bearoyay Even the one by Sparklehorse? o_o

  • I prefer from far Marilyn Monson and Danny Elfman's verions.

This one is kinda creepy ... His voice doesn't fit the song ...

    ;-(

  • i like this version too but it sounds like he is talking instead of singing it but its still good

  • @bubblesrock303 u missed rise against = mind blowing

  • panic at the disco should do this song.

  • I dunno, there is something about his voice In this song I like, kinda gives a feeling of Halloween in it, sure its not as good as Amy Lee or Marilyn Manson, but hey, its actually pretty good

  • half of this bad baby sat me as a kid. cant believe i knew them. my brother was like best friends with their singer

  • My Chemical Romance sucks ass. It's bad enough that flyleaf already did a cover song to TNBC. I'd rather listen to these guys over MCR

  • Can't say I like his voice. And this version is not my favorite. But it is definitely good in its own way.

  • Comment removed

  • i think this one's better than the original

and although i love mcr ill be the first to say that gerard way cant sing

  • Wow, this is a lot better then I thought it would be.

  • I'm a fan of the all american rejects but this song sucks

  • normally i HATE when people redo songs from nightmare before christmas cuz its been my fav movie scence i was 1 (no joke) but this is AMAZING

  • GERARD WAY DO IT! IT WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER AND SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEXY!

  • Definitely one of my favorite songs! This and Sally's Song.

  • lol it totally ruined the mysteriousness of the whole song.

  • Whatchu gaiz talking about

    I think they sound sexyyy

  • I actually like this. It's one of the only songs in the 3-D version that doesn't just use guitars.

  • These is one of my least favorite remakes. But the way he sings, Oh somewhere deep inside of these bones An emptiness began to grow...

    I love it.

  • I dont know but his voice doesnt represent Jack's deep emotion and high charisma

unless Jack was a different character

  • I actually really like this cover and I'm not even that big of an A.A.R fan. It just feels like a different version of the song, and it should be looked at as a seperate version, not an attempt at a recreation.

  • this crap sucks! they did tim burton no justice!

  • I think i would want to hear system of a down do this song :/

I don't know....it was something in the way he said "And since i am dead I can take off my head and recite Shakespearean quotations." made me think of serj :/

Anyone?? Or maybe just have serj sing it :D

  • @NirvashZ i agree serj's vocals are a bit rougher and would suit the song better

  • @NirvashZ I agree I was thinking the same thing...

  • @NirvashZ i agree o3o

  • @NirvashZ Urgh, that would rule. Now I depressed because I want to hear it.
