It was staged...it did not "bounce" like it would have, on a regular hard surface...it probably landed on a stunt man pad...or cushion of some type--on the stage floor--it survived.
Gene was the businessman of the band and still is, he's the one who marketed them and made it so you can buy KISS anything. That's one of the things that kept them alive for so long. Don't get me wrong I still love the music and saw them live in 1975, I was 13 and loved it. But yea Gene was one the one who saw the dollar signs in everything and used the name to his advantage.

If you read Gene's book unmasked he really bashes Ace and Peter and basically says they had no talent. They hire them for peanuts for the reunion tour telling them the band is Gene and Paul. Yet look at the success of KISS, it's with Ace and Peter, the band wasn't the same when those two left, they didn't get it back until the re union tour. If those guys didn't contribute anything to the band, why get people to act like them and wear their make up? Why not just pay Ace and Paul the money?

This is KISS Karaoke. Ace wrote Shock Me. Ace came up with the spaceman personae. Ace wrote that song after almost being elctrocuted onstage. To have Tommy Thayer play that song is a disgrace. There is only one Ace. Often imitated, but never duplicated.

If you read Gene's book unmasked he really bashes Ace and Peter and basically says they had no talent. They hire them for peanuts for the reunion tour telling them the band is Gene and Paul. Yet look at the success of KISS, it's with Ace and Peter, the band wasn't the same when those two left, they didn't get it back until the re union tour. If those guys didn't contribute anything to the band, why get people to act like them and wear their make up? Why not just pay Ace and Paul the money?

This is KISS Karaoke. Ace wrote Shock Me. Ace came up with the spaceman personae. Ace wrote that song after almost being elctrocuted onstage. To have Tommy Thayer play that song is a disgrace. There is only one Ace. Often imitated, but never duplicated.
