I used to think that Tony should have been on the UK series, but because British and American humour are so different, I doubt he would've fit in. Even with Josie's appearance, as much as they tried, one could still sense the awkwardness of worlds colliding like that.
@milkwasabadchoice131 This was before any of that mess came up. It's a shame that people still make Michael Jackson pedophile jokes even when he was found not guilty. It's still brought up even after the man has died.
Also the category here is bad scout leaders.... that can be a variety of different things. Your brain shouldn't automatically go to pedophilia. What does that say about YOU?
@milkwasabadchoice131 PowerDiva meant that it looked like you cheapshotted MJ, when 1. he wasn't a pedo 2. This show was before THAT came up, and 3. the guy is six feet under. It's not about pedophilia, it's about telling Michael Jackson jokes, too soon.
"Skins" is another name for papers you use when rolling a hand made cigarette (or joint). And everyone should know that the big guy is Michael McShane and he kicks butt! He was also in "Robin Hood: Princes of Thieves"!
Paul Merton was my favourite on the UK version, but he was only involved in the first couple of seasons. He could improv and be funny instantly. Genius. The UK version was made up on the spot, whereas you just know the US version was partially (not fully) planned beforehand for the sake of the comedy.
the only 2 things that i dont like about the UK version compared to the US are:
1- the host..i mean hes fine an all but common hes not enthusiastic ... half the time he buzzes half through a joke and ruins it its just inappropriate >.>
2- the whole room feel empty.. the audience plays no rule in this show ....even hearing them laugh is rare.
i seen more of the uk version, and now i like the professional style of the host and some of the comedians . But i still have no fond to the many British comedians that come out on this show. But i do like one of the british ladies, she has real class.
the comedians they have chosen arent exactly the best, have you seen any thing with Stephen fry.
i think the best british comedians are around right now. i'd love to see eddie izzard, ross noble, bill bailey, or dylan moran (and plenty of others) do some improv
colin was on it most episodes, him and ryan were steady features, it was rare that he wasnt on it to be honest, uk version had a more broad range but him and ryan were there throughout really
Colin didn't necessarily get the job on the UK Whose Line until later. His first audition was a dud, but the second time he went for an audition, he got much better marks (with the help of Ryan as well)
Tony went into recluse after the show ended, became a hermit (suffers from bipolar disorder) before his brother "rescued" him. Mike McShane I think did one or two US episodes. Josie Lawerence did two.
You're both wrong. Ryan is a Canadian-American. Ryan was born in the US and only lived in Canada part of his life, now he lives in the US (Washingtone State).
Also, the last season or two was filmed in Holywood, California, just for a little info.

Yeah, but 99% of people agree WLIIA was WAY funnier in America.
Brits on this show, (most of the time; I'm not saying EVERYONE of them) were afraid get real dirty with their jokes.
I know UK's WLIIA was successful, I'm just saying the US version was much more successful in the long run. Especially after the Richard Simmons episode.
