@TheCessnaDriver why? more power, better gas mileage if you have the v8 with the t56. my current 01 prelude auto ss with the vtec motor only gets 22.1 mpg at 60-65 mph. but it definately is a beautiful car.
@en3rgieboy for a number of reasons... slushboxes have higher parasitic drivetrain losses, the auto is 4 gears instead of 5 in the manual, so they're more spaced out, and it shifts slower than a manual in good hands.
lmao look at cb7 forums..They have plenty of auto h22 swaps on their cb7's that don't fall outta vtec off shifting...get a chipped computer plain and simple...<<doing an h22 cb7 swap =p

Hi, I`m thinking of getting a 98 Lude with Sportshift.. not sure about This transmission as it seems to really slow down the car and lengthen the gears are you happy with it?
Hi, this was my friend's car, but yes it did slow it down quite a lot. While he had it, he didn't mind having the automatic, but he sold that and bought a Civic with a 5 speed and has said he'll never go back to an automatic. The gears are pretty long, and the car will actually fall out of VTEC when shifting from 1st to 2nd even if revved all the way to 8,000.
So get a stick :) If you don't like manuals, then honestly a Prelude probably isn't the car you want anyway ;)

@xodorotoyofo i got an auto a few months ago, lazy 4 speed with zero torque, dont buy it autoif you want performace, i just cruise about in it and i love it for that
@bigtex144 my 93 prelude vtec beat that car without using vtec.... -_-... ur right those are slow lolz...I have a h22a jdm in my cb7 though looooooooonnnnnnngggg ass gears... Im taking that h22a and swapping it with my h22a1 currently in though

@tommyistommy rofl yes yes i do!!!.. I live in kissimmee florida, and thats all i see on the road, and at the track.. I see 4 door honda accords with just a huge spoiler -_-'.. and turbo civics putting out more exhaust fumes, then an 18 wheeler.. i dunno what these people are doing lmao...
This guy is not racing to 100, he is just cruising. The Prelude is much faster than he is showing.

I used to have an auto Prelude. They are slow. I don't know how I beat some of the cars I raced with it though.
