Yeah it was dangerous and he might end up in an accident but he actually shows some very good flying skills. His leveling off was perfect whether he meant to get that low or not. My opinion.
That was a whisker away from disaster. Any harder and the skids would collapse, pieces of blades everywhere, maybe hitting the crowd and a roll with fire would have probably killed everyone on board.
That is pure luck and the only skill seen in this video is maybe the pilot not being arrested or being beaten to a pulp by the passengers or more educated people in the crowd on landing.
when you have 4000 hrs of flight time, argue with me all you want to...this guy was lucky...there was no skill in what he did and he put everyone there at risk of being killed.....intentionally....total a-hole in my eyes...ask the feds what they think....his license should be gone after this manuever....
what an idiot, he is sooooo very lucky he didn't get at taiboom strike or busted the tail off - I bet the heli had to go for sevice after that. If he would have went in, he would have been killed and some of the audience would have been killed or injured.
The shock load on the skid's looks a tad bit beyond the design limits when you watch the slow-mo. Do you suppose they had to do an extensive structural inspection afterwards?? Half price at the auction??
Jety has a lot of bolts that are supposed to be loose, and gaps between the pannelling, these are for indicating stress on the aircraft, if one has had a hard landing, the bolts feel tight and you see irregularities in the gaps between the panels, or closed gaps entirely, Theyre all allong the tail boom and over the aircraft, and i would have liked to seen the state of this aircraft after its flight. The owner probably didnt let him fly it very much anymore.
@JetDriver1111 yes cause human error makes everyone a loser and a jerk. Like you have never made a mistake or done something wrong before.. How about instead of focusing on what could have happened. Be grateful a catastrophe didn't occur.
and mr helicopter, no it was not on JAA rules, since this happend in austria and it has up to date ( 20 th jan 09 ) no JAA implemented rules like JAR FCL 2. still on national austrian regulation !
What a wanker!!! There is NO CHANCE he ment to do it!!! Who in there right mind would want a retard like that working for em!!! He will give all Helo pilots a bad name when he rolls it up next time and kill's everyone on board...
Despite the seemingly benign deflection of the skids, the unseen damage in the airframe would run into the tens of thousands of dollars.Additionally no manouver of that nature should be performed at less than 500'AGL or that close to a crowd for that matter
The pilot will have had a display authorisation certificate [(artical 80(5)(a)]as part of his CAA licence that would let him go to a hight of 30ft but a min hight of 3ft and he was also on a runway so hight wouldn't really apply here. :)
He did do it on purpose. The skids are specially designed to take the hammering for run on landings and autos. Looks extreme but thought it was just a fast run on and take off. Run on landings were scary as hell the first few times I did them.
I doubt it, but if u ben studying, i can't say to differ. But that wud take alot o skills and simulation practice to perfect, cos its either, miss the ground.......or die!
tough looking helicopter. would have scared the hell out of me.

Thats insane. Look at the tail boom shake when he touches down. Could have been a disastrous crash had it been a little harder.

That was an event with the Jetranger and he did that on purpose for a stunt show, and he stole that video.
KylerHayes 3 years ago
no pilot would stress his aircraft like that for an airshow. Watch again and you can see the tail section warp as he hits the ground.
