Alright, so the truth is PC will allways be better period. I know it's a matter of preference, but the skill levels improvements on a PC are just far more superior, and I'm not putting any emphasis on the graphics. A mouse+keyboard will always outperform the gamepad, I'm talking no aim assist/hacks whatsoever -purely pro level, nuff said. So for the console to rise above PC will have to upgrade the gamepad. I like the kinnect approach (gun) but it still needs work.

Its an evolving machine that keeps inovationg throught its time. Devs are now seeing the potential of steam and open source distribution that can olny be done on pc. consoles you can do so much with the agreement of microsoft or sony. heck microsoft wouldnt let free dlc for l4d, and many other games.

@bobmclightning Technologically speaking, (console, PC, etc.) hardware is static and it's only downhill after the release date as beefier hardware/games keep coming. Therefore, some fame could really help out in the long run. After all, the PS2 still gets tributes like IGN's Top 100 PS2 Games and the PC hardware of its era is now... somewhere I guess.
The problem i think most people have, like me, is the fact that their parents won't buy a pc. My parents'll happily buy me a £200 xbox, but not a pc. A pc is more expensive, however in the long run a console is going to cost more for games and having to pay for online.

@thepersonfromearth you can easily get 4 gigs of new egg for around 20 - 30 bucks and snag a 520 card for around 50 - 100 and you can play whatever you want. it really is not expensive to upgrade your pc. console has less graphix, no mouse and keyboard (although i could be wrong on this on), better just about anything faster frames, 1080p, etc etc. you prob may have to upgrade your entire pc if you just have a single core proccessor. but really pc is not that expensive.....

I've recently built a crossfire ready system with a radeon hd 6870, all for just around $600. It will crush all the next gen consoles in terms of performance, and that just with a single card. I bet you when a next gen console comes out, it'll cost around $400 to 500. A $400 gaming pc will still be better than an xbox 720. PC is the way to go
After consulting numerous sources, I finally figured out why I always preferred consoles over personal computers. It's easier for me to be loyal to something that makes a name for itself and isn't constantly changing its image.

then the systems arre noisy i have a 80 gb and it makes popping noises i never noticed it until my dad took my ps3 off of me becuase hes a dumb alcholihc and he STUPIDLY put it in the FREEEZER!!!!! so i found it and while it was minus 5 degrees i turned it on toy see if it worked and it did but now im bothered by the noise it makes 10 minutes non stop pop drives me insane. fuck consoles get a pc as i speak it is still doing that noise it used to do it but it started up again !!!!!!!!

Console gaming especially since only games that will look better than console counter parts are fps games. Some games like Dead Space or gta4 will have better resolution and AA but that's it. Thing is PC gaming sucks for me, last 5 years: terrible generic FPS games , MMORPG's and some RTS games which I liked to play on PC before and that's it when it comes to exclusives. Nothing that really shines with story or art design, except Witcher games.
@lazyluke712 That is most definitely not it. Besides higher resolution and anti-aliasing, you still get significantly higher framerates, better texture filtering, and on most cases, additional visual settings, possibly including DirectX 11 features such as compute shader effects and tesselation.
On GTA IV, for example, you also have much larger textures, much higher draw distance, an improved shadow engine and better reflections and water, among other PC-exclusive perks.

@solarlightning doubt it no platforming , fighting , action hack'n slash games. Rayman which I previously played on PC is not released on pc. New Rayman Origins that is. Same for Mortal Kombat. Red Dead Redemption last year. Silent Hill 8 also not on PC. Dark Souls. Big lack of game series that I love.

@solarlightning mortal kombat isn't on pc, not new one.I wan't saying that consoles gaming is better , it's better for me. I enjoy in split screen games, playing tekken with friends, when I get new game I just play it on normal for story and fun. I love games with good story, right now waiting for last guardian. Yeah I know that pc has good games, exclusive ones I mean, but except for few rts games and witcher I haven't noticed them that much in past few years.

@solarlightning doubt it, it's just a rumor. Both xbox and xbox360 had custom made gpu based on latest series for that year. So I guess that they will go with upcoming 7000 series, if they announce new console at E3 at all. And if they are planning 1080p with new xbox, that gpu is really bad choice. Besides even Nintendo is changing specs for their console because they don't won't to go with underpowered one, so I doubt that MS or Sony are planning to go with weak consoles.
@lazyluke712 im %100 positive that it wont be from the 7000 series since the 7950 gpu itself will cost around 700..and then they have to have a beefed processer at least 4 cores..then theyll have the ram and so on the consle will end up costing 1500 which is pointless to buy since it cant work as a computer and is a rip off since a pc can do much more than game..and yes they did use a custom gpu and it sucked/s..and to keep their cost down its cheaper to use someone elses gpu
@solarlightning 700$ is a retail price, I doubt that MS will be paying that much for them. MS makes a contract with AMD like before, gpu goes in mass production, price is a lot lower. Production cost of 6670 is probably around 20-30 $ , I doubt that they are planning to go that cheap with new xbox. I've read some article for ps3, production of single ps3 unit was around 800$, but ps3 had a retal price of 600$. Besides xbox360 gpu was one of the best in 2005 when it was released
@lazyluke712 yea thats true ps3s were sold at loss and so were xboxs..but its been confirmed that it will be a 6000 series which isnt bad since the 6950,6970,and 6990 are beasts..but keep in mind consles dont need much gp power since their all running same hardware so its easier to code for them..but i highley doubt they will go into the 69XX territory..but if they did thatll be awsome for consle gamers

PC, mine, this is weird, but i got mine up to 1000 fps, actualy 947,fps, but still, i had an xbox360, it died after 3 weeks, and topped 73 fps, thats when i went from PC 4 life, to , NEVER AGAIN A CONSOLE
Pc gaming is better. Sure it costs more. But if you gonna count like this. Every game for PC is 49,99. When an ps3 -xbox 360 costs around 60-70 euros. So its cheaper to have an pc than a xbox/pc cause if you gonna buy every bigselling games that comes out you will be affording a new comp instead (if you save those money) so PC is cheaper
PC. I like the customization, and tweaking everything on both my pc an in my games down to the smallest details, and that is why I hate console ports, where I for instance cannot make my own cfg, and things like that.
xbox on a budget id say other then buying my computer i spend all most nothing on games mind you my computer is more expensive im from new zealand so in USD i spent 1,197 built my self so that makes it cheaper to i guess.with steam games are super cheap the only pricey games are the ports from xbox that are not all that good or interesting the only people waiting for xbox games is xbox users.sure xbox is cheaper until you buy a few games and everyone here owns 1 computer maybe more
I do not want to play any Halo nor Uncharted,i prefer good games like The Witcher series or Total war series or maybe Company of Heroes and i also prefer 1080p something the console can not do.I was not aware all PC games could be played on the console i have yet to see a Total war of any RTS that is actually good on the console due to the lack of power and control.
when the developer goes out to maximize their product, so we have to play it with maximize as well, and later on you can feel what the exactly of real message that developer send to you... always PC since 2000.

@newbslice Graphics Do matter in a game like bf3. If you see the pc version of bf3 you will think then that console graphcs are not good enough. Plus we have 64 player conquest and even rush and mods. Plus pc gaming is cheaper than xbox gaming and you have a larger and more competitive community in pcl.
PC, whenever i want i can download games from piratebay and run them without having to burn a dvd or send them to a console's HD. besides PC having much better specs (2012 vs 2006) and huger variety of games, it has many more uses, and is less likely to have a RED or YELLOW failure (think and you'll know what im talking about). plus, i could care less about online gameplay, lived my entire life without it (only got internet in 2007) so im okay with pirated games and offline gameplay.
pc is better for games, quality, price, and everything else.... and consoles have become a kind of skype for me, I only use them to talk with friends.

I started console gaming with a gamecube, and xbox...so played them for about 7 years total? I switched to a gaming PC about half a year ago. So far the only thing I miss is the rumble feature. it made shooting things a ton more satisfying.
i would only play the pc for large games like mmorpg shooters or large scale map games like battlefield 3 and thats it no matter where i play my pc east west south or north i have horrible connection and i use the required amount for my locations
and i play console because i find the controler to have the gameplay capabilities

@gregorythegreatest15 500$ is an AMD Phenom II Quad Core @ 3.4 ghz and an ATI HD 5670 1gb DDR5 ( not a great video card but shits on 360&ps3's card ) , on which i can run 90% of the games maxed out @ 60fps . Just sayin' .
PS : in games like Crysis , even if i lower the details to Medium so i can get a constant 60fps, I still get 3 times better graphics than consoles . So believe me , PC IS THE WAY TO GO !

PC, for sooooo many reasons. Better graphics, more mature gaming community, free live, once I buy a disc if it gets scratched up I can still play the game because I can just use my key and download it, I don't have to buy from a store, just straight from Steam/Origin ETC, I get the fun of making my own PC, and most of all for me, I can do anything else, tv, movies, internet, communication, research, music, and shopping right at home. Saves tons of money in the long run.

Besides, you'd would have to have both an xbox and a ps3 which is a lot more expensive than a computer. Not worth the price for a few games I could just play at a friends house. I prefer the PC a bit more than consoles. Sure you can buy a console and play on that, but how long does it last before you have to buy the next generation console? You can sell consoles to help buy the new one, but with a PC all you might need to do is upgrade the video card, do a few more changes, maybe not even that if your machine can handle it. Tip-Never buy a gaming computer. That's where the $1000 upgrade myth comes from. Build your own and you will save a LOT.
@MoterCrozz But I mean that console are designed to game on and have pretty much fun, PC are not designed for gaming apart from some exceptions, you can have a bunch of mates around and all play on the console and have a good time but with PCs it only one player and always will be, consoles have more of a social aspect while the PCs focus more on running the game and playing it.

you have to instal steam, install every game,
every game you join you need to download components of that server.
there are no private matches.
and there is no instruction on how to get started.
makeing a server takes like 4 hours to do.
pluss you have to realy on youtube tutorials to learn what your doing.

I've recently built a crossfire ready system with a radeon hd 6870, all for just around $600. It will crush all the next gen consoles in terms of performance, and that just with a single card. I bet you when a next gen console comes out, it'll cost around $400 to 500. A $400 gaming pc will still be better than an xbox 720. PC is the way to go

Console gaming especially since only games that will look better than console counter parts are fps games. Some games like Dead Space or gta4 will have better resolution and AA but that's it. Thing is PC gaming sucks for me, last 5 years: terrible generic FPS games , MMORPG's and some RTS games which I liked to play on PC before and that's it when it comes to exclusives. Nothing that really shines with story or art design, except Witcher games.

@lazyluke712 That is most definitely not it. Besides higher resolution and anti-aliasing, you still get significantly higher framerates, better texture filtering, and on most cases, additional visual settings, possibly including DirectX 11 features such as compute shader effects and tesselation.
On GTA IV, for example, you also have much larger textures, much higher draw distance, an improved shadow engine and better reflections and water, among other PC-exclusive perks.

Red Dead Redemption last year. Silent Hill 8 also not on PC. Dark Souls. Big lack of game series that I love.

I enjoy in split screen games, playing tekken with friends, when I get new game I just play it on normal for story and fun. I love games with good story, right now waiting for last guardian. Yeah I know that pc has good games, exclusive ones I mean, but except for few rts games and witcher I haven't noticed them that much in past few years.

@solarlightning doubt it, it's just a rumor. Both xbox and xbox360 had custom made gpu based on latest series for that year. So I guess that they will go with upcoming 7000 series, if they announce new console at E3 at all. And if they are planning 1080p with new xbox, that gpu is really bad choice. Besides even Nintendo is changing specs for their console because they don't won't to go with underpowered one, so I doubt that MS or Sony are planning to go with weak consoles.

@solarlightning 700$ is a retail price, I doubt that MS will be paying that much for them. MS makes a contract with AMD like before, gpu goes in mass production, price is a lot lower. Production cost of 6670 is probably around 20-30 $ , I doubt that they are planning to go that cheap with new xbox. I've read some article for ps3, production of single ps3 unit was around 800$, but ps3 had a retal price of 600$. Besides xbox360 gpu was one of the best in 2005 when it was released

Pc gaming is better. Sure it costs more. But if you gonna count like this. Every game for PC is 49,99. When an ps3 -xbox 360 costs around 60-70 euros. So its cheaper to have an pc than a xbox/pc cause if you gonna buy every bigselling games that comes out you will be affording a new comp instead (if you save those money) so PC is cheaper

I do not want to play any Halo nor Uncharted,i prefer good games like The Witcher series or Total war series or maybe Company of Heroes and i also prefer 1080p something the console can not do.I was not aware all PC games could be played on the console i have yet to see a Total war of any RTS that is actually good on the console due to the lack of power and control.

Both those consles don't render demanding games at 1080p not due to lack of support, but due to lack of processing power and VRAM.

PC, whenever i want i can download games from piratebay and run them without having to burn a dvd or send them to a console's HD. besides PC having much better specs (2012 vs 2006) and huger variety of games, it has many more uses, and is less likely to have a RED or YELLOW failure (think and you'll know what im talking about). plus, i could care less about online gameplay, lived my entire life without it (only got internet in 2007) so im okay with pirated games and offline gameplay.

@gregorythegreatest15 500$ is an AMD Phenom II Quad Core @ 3.4 ghz and an ATI HD 5670 1gb DDR5 ( not a great video card but shits on 360&ps3's card ) , on which i can run 90% of the games maxed out @ 60fps . Just sayin' .
PS : in games like Crysis , even if i lower the details to Medium so i can get a constant 60fps, I still get 3 times better graphics than consoles . So believe me , PC IS THE WAY TO GO !

PC, for sooooo many reasons. Better graphics, more mature gaming community, free live, once I buy a disc if it gets scratched up I can still play the game because I can just use my key and download it, I don't have to buy from a store, just straight from Steam/Origin ETC, I get the fun of making my own PC, and most of all for me, I can do anything else, tv, movies, internet, communication, research, music, and shopping right at home. Saves tons of money in the long run.

I prefer the PC a bit more than consoles. Sure you can buy a console and play on that, but how long does it last before you have to buy the next generation console? You can sell consoles to help buy the new one, but with a PC all you might need to do is upgrade the video card, do a few more changes, maybe not even that if your machine can handle it. Tip-Never buy a gaming computer. That's where the $1000 upgrade myth comes from. Build your own and you will save a LOT.
