  • I'd be honored to have simba upstage me while singing

  • I'm sorry but this song just destroyed the mood that was meant to be set in this scene. The song is far too destracting, I couldn't focus on the father-son relationship this scene is supposed to help establish. Why Disney, why must you destroy a good thing?

  • I don't really care, I just love this song

  • @missingfredhhp Yes I did

  • ... I'm glad I never watched the 2001 release. This ... it's just terrible.

  • Mufasa dies

  • I hate this! I've always preferred the original to this. Zazu sucks at singing.

  • LOL WTF why did they put this in the movie?

  • @min3stron3 Becaus eit's one of those songs that didn't make the final version when released, same with Human Again in Beauty and the Beast

  • Man, I LOVE Simba's part in this song. So much.

  • THIS KILLED IT!

  • It's funny, in germany the voice actor of the young Simba later became the voice actor of Jaden Yuki. :'D

  • The person that is simba is sora from kingdom hearts

  • this sucks. The original is way better. The colors are off and it's not animated as well or in the same style.

  • @CamBlack92 well I think they would have fixed up the animation before, but then they decided to just cut the whoe scene from the movie so they didn't bother. This is sort of a deleated scene, execpt they did put it in the special edition version. But I think even then they fixed it up. I really like it though. :)

  • @Cooper2of4 that is completely incorrect. This whole scene was a new edition to the original 1994 version. They made this whole scene for the 2001 re-release. That's why its only on the special edition.

  • @CamBlack92 Hmm. My info might be a bit rusty, though my sources seemed pretty legit. What's your source?(not being skeptic, im actually interested.)

  • @blackwolvesthe2nd aha, I just have the urge to roll over in bed and scream at anyone who tries to get me up :P

  • dont you ever have the urge to sing this when you wake up in the morining and annoy the hell out of everyone?! xD well..i do

  • I can sing exactly like Simba in this song.

  • i dont remember this

  • i like his voice....but the original is better

  • this is diffrent then what i remember

  • cuteee

  • sooo cute!!

  • I love how Mufasa literally could just NOT GIVE A SHIT about the morning report, and is encouraging Simba to harass Zazu during it by teaching him to pounce...and having him practice on the silly bird. HA!

  • The original VHS Lion King wasn't broke, so DON'T FIX IT.

  • @ThePhantom135

They didn`t `fix it`. This was actually a scene that was cut from the original movie when it first came out, but they added it back in for the special edition. Not to mention the fact that this song has been in the Broadway musical version since it first started. :l

  • those who say its a never before scene dont know what they are talking about, its in every copy of this film. maybe try go to a shop instead of a friend that pirated it for you?

  • @JTuroify It's not in my official VHS, this, like 'Human Again' in Beauty and the Beast and 'If I never knew you' in Pocahontas was animated and added onto the special edition DVDs and subsequent releases.

  • @JTuroify it was never on the original VHS

  • @Ernbla1896 It's RANDY not Brad, his name is Jonathan Taylor Thomas

  • som boss. letting his kid beat up one of his workers.

  • @Testunit100 And half of this scene was in the movie.

  • @Testunit100 This scene was a NEVER BEFORE scene in the movie! It's still a classic, this scene was cut out. Notice and pause on 0:47 when ZaZu was singing, that's the original scene in the movie. But half of this was NEVER BEFORE SEEN, they cut some parts out for some reason.

  • @Hannah4438 the song was for the original movie, but they never animated it. For the special edition they spliced new animation in with the original scene. You can spot the new animation, it kinda annoys me to be honest it's..... not the same.

  • @KatStroude

Yeah, because I do remember some parts like Simba pouncing and Mufasa saying "Good morning, Zazu."

  • I liked the old version better

  • That..Wtf? They put that BS in that classic? Jesus disney.

  • I really like Simba's voice in this, but I prefer Zazu's voice from the Broadway soundtrack version

  • I love all the versions of The Lion King but I remember being so surprised and hating this song when I bought the Special Edition to me it ruined the original and the special memories that the original held for me. Now that I'm older, the song is still somewhat annoying and still a little unwelcomed but I don't hate it. It's a cute song and I love Simba's voice in this but nothing can beat the original.

  • @YukiLoveless The special edition did NOT RUIN this movie, they were going to put this scene in the movie, but had it cut out, this movie is the original. This was a NEVER BEFORE scene in The Lion King.

  • @YukiLoveless

This is the original ... ;;; When Lion King first came out, this song was cut out, but made its debut in the Broadway Musical. When the special edition came out, the animators finished the animation for the song and then added it back in again. If you notice the original scene has a weird little animation skip at the point where Simba tackles Zazu, it's because they cut this song out. They added it back into make it flow better.

  • @ZephyrPhoenix that statement is not true at all. They didn't add it it to make it flow better. You base that statement on what? your opinion? This scene was animated and done for the 2001 re-release. They didn't fix it.

  • @CamBlack92 No, I'm actually basing that statement on actual research that I did on the matter. In other words, I googled it and learned that yes, this song was originally written and was set to appear in the original feature. However, they never animated it and scrapped the idea, though they kept it in the Broadway Musical instead. They ended up adding it in for the re-release because YES, it was meant to be in the movie in the first place.

  • uhhhh, i dont remember this version of the lion king.............

  • @ttmarlene It was added for some special addition thing.

  • .. Why'd they do this?

  • Am I the only one who sorta likes this more than the original?

  • I like it, but the original pwns. This better not be in the Diamond Ver. >.<

  • zazu is so fukin anoyin he needs shootin :S lol x

  • Haters always gonne hate.

This is a really cute and funnny song, and i believe it should have been in the original from the start.

Plus, it's a really fun wordplay in it, and it deserves alot of credit <3

  • i don't remember this being in the movie '-'

  • Dont remember this song from MY copy of the movie. ._.

  • This sucks...

  • simba steals the stoplight LOL

  • i relly love this song but this just an exter song for Zazu it's relly good Try and do for Harmes

  • I like this scene better than the original.

  • I liked the original version better without the song :(

  • I never heard that song.... ever.... and its super gay

  • I agree a 100%

This does not fit the original Lion King. Maybe one and a half, but it doesn't match the original at all.

its not a bad song, but it still doesn't quite fit the tone of the movie

  • What was here. Before this?

  • @beaglevsdarthvader Pouncing Lesson :3

  • I think this song is awesome! I wish it was in the movie.

  • @rupertmyprince it doesnt sound like simba because when they decided to put the song on the DVD the person who voiced young simba had grown so they hired someone else to sing the song

  • 0:45 did anyone else notice mufasa's change in eye color right there from yellow to white??

  • @missingfredhhp That was creepy

  • @missingfredhhp yeah i did

  • @PheonixQuill I know, lol. Still I don't really like it..well Simba's singing isn't bad though :D

  • Wait, how come Simba has a brown tail and then ends up having a red mane?

  • Hummm.. hard to say.. th song is great.. but yeah, the old version was a little better.. stuill, Simba's singer voice was pretty good at belting it out.

  • @StrickenRecord

    quite the Ethel Merman

  • IM GLAD THIS PART WAS NOT IN THE MOVIE!!!! THIS IS NOT WHAT I CALL A LION KING SONG

  • @adorablebabi caps, give them a rest

  • I love this song. Lion King is my second favorite Disney movie. Next to Pocohantas. But I think fans of Lion King LOVE this song. The song is so adorable and hilarious. Tim Rice and Elton John are so amazing for coming up with this song at the last minute. :)

  • Terrible. If this was in the original release it would have been so out of place. Probably cause the people that made it are the Hannah Montana disney people and not the classic disney people.

  • The singer in the Lion King, to me, was effortlessly good, like a young Michael Jackson. This actor can sing, sure, but he/she is obviously belting it out as hard as they can in order to get that high. I bet if it was the original voice actor back in the 90's it would've been better.

  • WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO OUR CHILDHOODS? o_o.

  • @DawnRainWasHere kinda overreacting a bit lol it's one song

  • I don't remembered this scene as a child. How long ago was this added?

It's not so bad (ok IMO) but the origin ''pouncing lessons'' versions is better.

  • @Mademoiselle87cakes

From what I heard, apparently Disney wanted to add this scene into the original movie. But I'm guessing due to time restraints and perhaps financial issues, they couldn't do it for the original.

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE, glad they put it in!!!

  • This makes Mufasa sound evil!

  • o its from the special edition

  • Whoever was voicing Simba for that song could sing... and he knew it.

  • @BlondeCurlsBlueEyes thats for sure. personally i dont think it FITS the movie. but it was a funny and cute song none the less and fit the theme of Lion King in my opinion in a way. Maybe 1.5?

  • @BlondeCurlsBlueEyes I think it was a girl who sang it...

  • Other people might not like it, but I love it! Mostly when Simba sings "This is the morning report"

  • I always owned the video version of TLK. It never included this scene. /thanksgod

  • im sorry, I HATE this scene...a lot

  • I could be wrong, but doesnt the DVD give you the option to watch the movie without the added in parts?

  • this is the part of musical.. i dont like how they added it in the movie

    but what done is done.

  • I love the part where Simba starts singing!! The voice actor of Young Simba is a really good singer!

  • this is part of the musical!

  • This is a cute song, but it definitely belongs in the stage version. I don't think it transferred well visually into film. If they were GOING to put a song from the stage show into the re-release of the movie on DVD, I wish they picked one of the more serious ones, like "Endless Night" or "Shadowland" or (would especially have loved to see this one animated) "The Madness of King Scar".

  • omfg simba sounds like that b**** justin beiber! *gags*

  • @sexybeast771 Not really, that guy sounds more like a girl.

  • @JenFL7 justin beiber sounds like a girl with a tampon shuved up her butt.... -_-'

  • @sexybeast771 I know, that's what I am saying.

  • @JenFL7 lol kool! *gives u a high five*

  • im sorry but simba sounds like justin beiber when he sings o.o (like the squeaky high voice)

  • @poppyleafstarXwhite LOL thats really sad . . . i think simbas a better singer tho

  • I hate this song.

  • 0-o.....*twitch*...WHAT DID THEY DO?!

  • Yuck. Original scene better.

  • original movie better..

  • simba sounds like a girrll!!

  • crap

  • Simba sounds like a girl

  • This popped into my head:

    Simba: What's that, Kiara?

    Kiara: ...

Simba: Ok, thanks. This just in, Zazu: No one cares about the f**king musical number. Just get on with it.

    Kiara: (giggling)

    Zazu: (middle "finger")

  • @macfanofgi does even HAVE a middle finger ?? XD

  • I dislike Simba's new voice.

  • @ImANerdYoureAnAss i miss the old voice to, but the actor grew up, they had to get a new one, and this was the closes they could get to the old one

  • Thank God Simba tackles that daft bird and takes over ^^

  • was simba voice acted by a girl when he was young?

  • @PuppyOverLord29

    No, it was JTT.

  • @PuppyOverLord29 it's actually a boy. i have the special edition dvd and they show a clip of the kid singing it.

  • @SexiiTisha77 Thanks for enlightening me! I wasn;t sure at first.

  • I like the original better, but simba's singing is so cute!

  • If I'm not mistaken, this was supposed to be in the original cut but was removed. It is obvious as to why.

  • what is this mumbo-jumbo!? this song has no disney magic whatsoever! what were they thinking, putting it in one of the best and most classic disney movie ever?

  • True fans would love this song. This is my second favorite disney movie. I love this song and the movie!! :)

  • This scene should've been: "Checking in with the morning report."

*Looks at Simba* "Fire at will."

  • Comment removed

  • What the hell did they do to this scene?! I'm better off sticking with my crummy video tape...

  • i like simba 's singing

  • I used to love Zazu... but I kinda want to shot him and mount him on a wall. Then burn it.

  • Yeah,Im pretty sure if Mufasa asked for the morning report and got this BS,he'd eat Zazu

  • @ThatCreepyKid243

    Hahahahaha!!!

  • I seen this movie over 200 times and I know for a fact that part is NOT IN THE MOVIE! Plus I don't like the song anyways.

  • @supergal911 It was added in the 2003 re release on DVD.

  • @supergal911 it's on the limited edition DVD version -_-

  • i love this

they should have left it! Simba sings SO well!

  • Did they seriously just add a song about the Morning Report? (sigh)

  • Zazu deserved it for singing!!!!

  • ruins the movie

  • this song ruins the movie all together and simba does not sing like that

  • Honestly, I love this song. It's very catchy to me. However, it IS kinda unnecessary to be placed in the film. I think it would be a little fun scene to watch in the musical, perhaps.

But, I agree, the original is better.

  • this isn't even rowan actkinson as zazu and i think the last scene was better

  • I am reminded of the South Park episode where the boys try to save films from their directors. Here is a good example why it should be done.

  • i hate this song

  • my fave part is from 1:07 to 1:19 :) though simba kinda sounds girly :D

  • I believe that if this was put into the original movie, like it was intended, people wouldn't have as big of a problem with it. If a song that's not even 2 minutes long is enough to "ruin" a movie that is believed to be one of the best, then how good can it really be? Basically, stop bitching. It's a perfectly fine scene. The music is catchy the animation is great and I don't see anything wrong with it. Also, I have seen this movie well over 500 times and have been a fan all my life. Peace.

  • @Cl0wnCar0nFire lol that makes since actually never thought of it like that. ur right. but the song still sucks tho lol. they writers probably thought so 2. thats probably y they didnt put it in.

  • @Princ3ssXpoison I disagree, I think it's a fine song. Plus I love the animation.

  • @Cl0wnCar0nFire well... ok we all have our own opinions. but i agree 100% on the animation thing.

  • sssoooooooooo gladd they didnt put tthis crap in the original. lol

  • LOL!!!

  • the old one was better ...

  • i no its amazing ,, i love the lion king ,, they need to make more films like this instead of hannah montana

  • i love simbas singing voice, does anyone know who does it?

  • The song orginally came from the musical from this film.

  • i LOVE how simba sings <33

  • @Luluthewolf1

    I know, it's awsome

  • would you all stop complaining. you sound like a bunch of 6 year olds geez. i think this is quite funny and the classic scene is funny too. poor zazu though. he gets pounced on in both the classic and this one.

  • why did they add this scene it like kills the movie

  • @furbyexterminator

You know when they remade this to put this part in they went to the old simba and he became too old to sing as simba... so they got someone else to replace him... thus, that isn't the original simba~... xD You would know this if you actually got the DVD. =P

  • Thanks captain obvious.

    Toodle pip

  • =O they have wrecked it......

  • This is the worst. I hate when Disney adds stupid scenes and ruins classic movies

  • @kaminekochan the morning report was actually meant to be in the movie originally but it was cut for time or something...

  • @kaminekochan I believe this scene was only released on the Sepcial Edition. On top of that, this was meant to be a scene, but they cut it out when making the final product.

  • @kaminekochan Hey, it gives us a look BEHIND THE SCENES when Simba pounced on Zazu.

  • @kaminekochan You kidding me? I loved this scene. 'course, the special edition was the first version i saw.

  • Lol I used to think that part was boring in the classic movie but now in the special edition it was awsom x3 I love how poor Simba pounced straight into a rock and then when he grabbed Zazu he started to pick on him x3

  • Wow.... this is totally weird. I watched the original as a kid, and this just throws off the classic I remember.
