To get through the statue room without raising the statues, lure one of the enemies in the other room that flies down from the ceiling through the door and into the statue room. Freeze it at the right time and you can jump on it and use a bomb to bounce yourself into the passage. I remember getting stuck behind the Ridley statue once. I was so pissed.

@riverzebra I agree on the time limit panic factor, but damn. That boss fight was a waiting game. That has got to be the worst dark samus battle in the franchise. Metroid Prime 3's final dark Samus fight was awesome, and had catchy music.

You could have saved a bunch of time by doing a Morph Jump(unmorph in midair and jump) to cross that gap where you're supposed to use the Ice Beam. I don't know if you'd classify that as cheating though.

Nintendo perfected finite games. Games with a beginning and an end. In the atari days it was all about survival and getting the highest score. While Atari will always be remembered as the most successful of it's generation and one of the most successful consoles of all time nintendo was the first console to really blow videogames open. The nes sold 60 million units during it's time. Most of those boxed with Super Mario Bros.
