thank Allah for the Quiet Storm thank god we can go back to such happier and peaceful times wheras doors went unlocked children were not tyrants over there parents and had much respect for them and most of all we loved each other in ways unexplainable yes we fought we got mad but we went back to love not grudges hey now
Used to love this -- romanticism sung about in songs from this era remain in me so deeply engrained. Although the verses were usually highly idealistic, they still spoke to the youthful heart and many years later have never been forgotten.
This brings back those good memories @ Hopkins plaza's summerfest(early 70's) in Bmore,Md.,Wasn't a whole lot of beefing going on then so you really got the chance to enjoy the live music!...Can't be touch!....I think God almighty 4 that!
We had the opportunity to sing this at the Eastern High School,( Washington, D.C) Senior Day in 1973. Joe Lindsey sang lead with Steve Alston, Anthony Moon and myself on background vocals. Later found out that Moon was related to one of the guys in the Softones and we got to meet them a few times over the last 30 years. Still great music.
1973 Eliot jr high DC singing in the halls. This song sounds good with the echo of my old school.R Bullock and M lyles. They used to sing so good the principle would wait for them to finish before he told them to go to class. Great times to be young.
Can someone tell me the name of 1 song they had ,that has this line in it,:(You're a once in a lifetime' yes you are)?I can't remembr its name ,but I know the Softones sings this song.Thx!
@JAZZY90951 Hey thx for that,This was my now deceased brother's favorite song and a classic 1 at that.Brings back so many memories.I really appreciate your help.My God Bless You!

Paymar you had to grow up with my mom and her family Janice Alexander They were singing with them in the alley on Lyndhurst street. Grew up hearing about them.Wow
They perfomed at the Carter Baron last night to a SOLD OUT crowd, they were soooo...good. sounded GREAT! Just like the recordings. They also paid tribute to MJ and the intermission DJ had us on our feet as he played MJ songs . It was a wonderful concert!!
They performed at Carter Baron last night and they were soooo....good!!!
They sounded heavenly. I remember listening to this group and fell in love with them back in the 70's, I was so excited when I found out that they were going to be performing there for the summer concert series, the concert was SOLD OUT. They also did a wonderful tribute to Michael Jackson.
These guys use to rehearse across the street from my house on Linnard St Baltimore Edmonson Village when I was a kid. People would stand around there house when they rehearsed in the basement. You could hear them all over our neighborhood and we loved it !!!
35yrs ago we took that walk. Some are no longer with us & for those of us who remain we'll not forget those good times. "Yes, there were rough times, but; through it all we made it". Congrats to us all. 35yrs & still going strong.
Marvin and the guys were up there with teh Young Vandals in B-More with Daman Harris before he went to the Temptations. Marvin still sounds good today -David Church (Cherry Hill born)
Choice Four,Skip Mahoney,Dynamic Superiors,Frankie and the Spindells,The Original Moments,The Whatnauts Special Delivery, and Jimmy Briscoe and the Beavers---Washington -Baltimore area put out a lot of fine groups! I am also a big fan of Damon Harris! And I am from NJ!!!

I always loved this song (WEBB-Radio)
THIS IS AN AMAZING SONG !!!!!
The production is supreb.
The songwriting is outstanding.
The lead vocalist is amazing.
I always thought he would leave the group.
This guy sings better than the guy in "Blue Magic".
