  • can u make a tutorial on ur character is awesome

  • 0:28 is awsome :D

  • LOL program?

  • please program?

  • @ShaneNewville So how do you do Poser and Blender? Do you model in Blender, import to Poser, Rig and Animate it... Well, then do you import it back to Blender for the rendering? Or do you import EVERYTHING you made in Blender, to Poser...

  • @masterapmark Hey. It's possible to do it all in Blender. But yes, you are correct. I model in Blender, export the obj files, import to Poser, rig and animate. And so far I have been rendering from Poser too. I am rendering just the super simple preview render quality. So what you is pretty much what I see when animating. The characters are low poly enough so I get nice playback speed. But then I have also been doing the compositing in After Effects and finalizing in Premiere.

  • wow u actually were able to have monty oum work with u thats kick ass man u guys did a good ass job than! nice fight!

  • @BLUEDRAGON16531 Yes, and I'm very grateful. He is not the usual super star. He doesn't let it go to his head being internationally known either. He actually wants more people to do what he does and is excited to see what people make. Not only that, he's willing to help other people (like me and you) to learn...that is if we are willing to go the extra distance to learn and apply the knowledge. I need to show some results very soon. Been so busy lately just surviving the world.

like you do on the ground to be destroyed when the character jumps?

  • @devil8560 Are you trying to ask how I did it? I'll tell you anyway. It was extremely simple. I used shape keys. One shape key in the form of broken ground, then the other with all the rectangles hidden underneath the ground. Then i could easily animate the shape key slider as needed. Also made a bunch of duplicates as needed.

  • Wow!

Hey Shane, I now right now you may think you've still got a long way to go but I can tell you right now that you're just as much an inspiration to us as monty oum.

To me it's not just about your level of skill, but your level of dedication. It's like what Malcom X said, when you shine, you subconciously give permission to others to shine too.

I mean look at me, I'm interested in getting into 2D animation one day and I'm barely even an artist yet. I have the guts to dream thanks to you.

  • @ashigar da fuck?

  • @zach3893 Huh? What part of my message triggered that reponse? just curious.

  • ok so first off i just want to tell you how amazing your animation looks i seen your first one done all in blender and it was pretty good but this one was jaw dropping.

    so i have a few questions =)

1.did you animate this in poser pro or with the mocap

2.were the cheapest place to get a mocap setup every were i look they want like $6000 to get the starter kit ( not including the mocap suits )

3.and check this out and tell me what you think its kinda like the mocap setup its at xsens.com itsKool

  • @SfcoAWOL 1. both, since I originally animated all of it in Blender, it went a lot faster in Poser since we already knew what to do. So with Poser the mocap is more of a starting point. Every bvh file used had to be edited so much in order to get it to look right. And it is mixed with a lot of hand key motion / transitions, etc.

    2. I have no idea. The one we used was OptiTrack. It was the one that has 8 cameras.

    3. It does look cool but I could only dream of using any mocap system.

  • cool

  • ya rck=P

  • 0:34 how do you make the electric effect?

  • @azmilarash96 I used Particle Illusion to create electricity, then exported png image sequence with transparency. Then in After Effects I used a lot of small parts of the sequence, keyed the oppacity and animated the position of each one.

  • Wow! Is it possible for you to create a tutorial of the things you learned from Monty Oum?

  • @fitzerg Most of what Monty has showed me he has also written in his DeviantArt and GameTrailers journals. But yes, seeing it in action makes a lot more sense. I wish I had time right now to do a screen cap of the process. Or at least what little I can. My tut would be a watered down version of his. Maybe some day I will get around to it.

  • @ShaneNewville One question is the program free to download?

  • @moemoe525 yes it is at blender.org

  • A - #1 !

  • Btw, where did you get all the sound effects? :)

  • Freaking awesome man . We accept your excuse lol

  • Awesome! is all animations used mocap? can you share the techniques making great animation like this? i really need it plz. :DD

  • @azmilarash96 Originally it was all hand keyed in Blender. The process Monty got me started still takes a lot of hand keying and clean up. It starts with choosing the right parts of different motion data. For example, import a bvh that has a lot of kicks. Then delete all the motion you're not using. Keep your fav kick. You do that over with everyting. First pieceing it together then working on timing. Then blending and tweaking so they flow together. I wish I could show you. should do a tut vid

  • @azmilarash96 ...some people think using mocap is cheating. It can be depending on how you use it. This way I think does save a lot of time, but still takes lots of work to make it do what you want. It's more of a starting point than anything. With Monty's setup, he has the stuff to be able to record his own mocap. So a lot of the moves I actually did. Then we bring it to Poser to do stuff to exaggerate the moves so more than I could do in real life. Main thing is adjusting the hip axis

  • @azmilarash96 Adjust the hip Xtrans, Ytrans, Ztrans (and rotations) to make sure each move starts in the same place the last one ended. On the animation palette in Poser, make sure to leave a little blank space between each move. That gives you room to key the hands, legs, etc so the transition from move to move. Also a lot of mocap is super slow, so we use "Retime Animation" a lot to speed things up. I personally like to use bvhacker to crop the data and center the hip's trans and rotation

  • @ShaneNewville

Yes please. I hope you'll make a video just like the other one. :D

  • @azmilarash96 all over the place. I mainly give credit to Pepper but I recorded and blended some myself as well. Maybe a few random ones from FindSounds-dot-com

  • You are incredible!

  • this was awesome, love it.

  • AMAZING

  • You just mind blowned and head shot most of us to outer space...

  • rock solid bro nice

  • NICE man, Mouty Oum is my inspiration too!

You is so luck for meeting him =)

  • @LuccasBode Seriously. I am no one special. I am definitely grateful to have that opportunity. I got at him around Haloid and he was cool enough to respond even though he was famous. Since then I've tried to learn everything I can from him. He's definitely a cool guy. Some people would use they're popularity to put themselves above the "little people" and ignore them. Monty is the opposite. If he doesn't respond it's because he's too busy making an awesome movie for you to enjoy.

  • You sure like wide-angle lenses. :P Win. Great animation. ;)

  • @AniCator Haha. That's one of the first things Monty said too. I like the wide angles because you can see more. Video games us it a lot. But he helped me understand a bit more of how to use it tastefully instead of all the time. If done right it can bring great emphasis to certain actions. I see it done in some kung fu movies. No right or wrong way to do it. But certain uses can bring a greater result.
