  • I, started on Baritone and then to Euphonium, would like to say that the Baritone is cylindrical, meaning it maintains a cylinder shape before flaring out for the bell. The Euphonium is conical, meaning it gradually grows starting from the valve area and to the bell. The ultimate test to tell the difference is to pull out the main tuning slide and put it back in backwards. If it still fits, it's a Baritone. If it doesn't, it's a Euphonium. The difference DOES NOT LIE IN HOW MANY VALVES IT HAS!

  • @hllzo i play them too. people think there rare instruments but there really not. but brass instruments are the best. i can play all of them exept trombone and french horn.

  • @homersimpson8561 I can play all of them except Flugelhorn because I've never gotten my hands on one! :D

  • good stuff

  • Ooh decent tone but really out of time in places! Play a tuba for a little while and you'll find some rythm.....

    Haha good job.

  • uh sorry.. If you are going to play tuba, you will find some rythm? ... well that is the biggest bullshit ive ever heard, sorry im not trying to insult you!

To find some rythm we have something called a metronome ;)

  • @frostzor It's called tongue in cheek.....

  • has nothing to do with the term, rythm. Thats articulation what you are talking about

  • @frostzor I suggest you look up the phrase 'tongue in cheek.'

  • I'm kinda the euphonium student here, great offer, but no thanks!

  • What's that? It's the sound of a million craps not being given!

  • (not highschool)

  • bitch

  • lol, were you guys just randomly carrying around your euphs? and then you just decided...''hmm lets play tetris all around the city'' lol, that was awesome

  • This made my day :]

  • PRO

  • nice!, does anyone know were i can find the notes to play this for a baritone? (I'm pretty sure its the same music used for a euphonium, and there happens to be exactly 3 of us in my marching bad! :D)

  • Tubapeter(dot)com. You can print this off for free =). And yah the euphonium and baritone are pretty much the same thing except some minor differences like the tone on the euphonium and more warm and dark.

  • oh thanks! and lol i just found it the other day, same website and everything, its awesome.

  • same exact music, its like saying trumpet vs. cornet... get to work transcribing and have fun kid

  • where did you get the euphonium ones?

    please pm me or something

  • @ultranoodles- go to tubapeter(dot)com it has a lot of music (just look at the diff versions of the tetris sheet music untill u see the part, u should be able to tell apart the tuba&euphonium ones pretty easily) :D ~hope u find it, its really fun to play!

  • thanks, i actually found it about a week ago

    but thanks

  • I am going to do this some day... I would love to go out in public with one on my friends on another instrument and just start playing.

  • Dude me too! My friend did it once alone o his euphonium and made 147 dollars! I was like WTF??? I want to do it SOOO BADLY but i get nervous

  • It is good money probably, and it would be fun! Once you get over the nerves you would be swimming in money lol

  • at first I thought "what's a euphonium?" but now I wanna learn how to play it. it sounds amazing! these guys are really good too!

  • Euphoniums are ALOT of fun. They are GREAt and I MEAN AWESOME solo instruments cause of the uber tone it has. if you are in band and a treble eupho you get alot of solos and melody

  • come on dude 2 hours a day ain't gonna hurt

i'm a jr too and i practice like crazy and still have time for everything else

  • :\

I never said it would. And how in the hell did my comments get removed from removal (If that makes any sense...)?

Still, I learned this in less than a day after practicing for about an hour and a half. My friend is having a bit of trouble though. XD

  • Hey I play this on my euphonium.

  • people need to recognize this intrument more

  • "And take your trumpet with you!"

    "It's a euphonium..."

  • Comment removed

  • @aznmj14 what, the baritone?

  • @aznmj14 Though this reply is a year later..

If it's not recognized, how come it gets the most solos?

  • @LeMaitreDeSorts I think he means that while the euphonium gets many solos, it is not a commonly known instrument as much as others. In other words, It needs more public recognition.

  • @euphbassboneplayer7 It sure does. The euphonium and the cello are the God instruments.

  • @LeMaitreDeSorts Can't agree more! My friend plays the cello and he too says that it and the euphonium are his favorites.

  • @aznmj14 i know it sounds so cool!

  • @aznmj14 im on grade 1 and i love playying this intrument but the lack of tutorials for it is amazing :(

  • @aznmj14 i play this instrument... its the best

  • lol makes me wanna dance lol i layed that in school

  • my comment couldnt even go as far as describing how amazing this is...such a great sound and intonation!

  • Nice arrangement, nice playing!

  • HOLY JESUS, guys sound awesome....it makes me feel like practicing more.

  • Great way to make money for a young musician (age 13 or 14) who aren't like proffessionals at band like me.

  • Haha agreed!

  • EUPHO 4EVER

  • i play the euphonium and i'm totally gonna try this with a friend now very nice!

  • I play the euphonium!

  • nicely done but I gather this is not Birmingham, Alabama ;-)

  • awesome i play the enphonium too

  • any one else think that the guy in the yellow shirt looks like david schwimmer or who ever you say is last name

  • wooow, is cool! y play that with the obor xD, in euphonium is very wellx)

  • This makes me feel like crap as a Euphonium player haha. Great work!

  • What is the difference between a euphonium and a tuba?

  • A tuba for one, is much larger and is in a deeper octive and key then the Euphonium. It is also larger and plays a bigger part in a Band then the Euphonium. Many people not trained in the musical arts say the Euphonium is a "mini tuba" when in reality they are quite different and share only the same valve amount and general shape.

  • The tuba may play more often than a euph since bass lines are needed. But the euphonium is an amazing solo instrument, and considered "King of the Brass".

We all oughta show the euph more love.

  • oh wow yes. of course. your words just made my day!

  • I play this with my trumpet and my firen!!!! I'ts very cool!!!

  • Awesome place to play thats so cool!

  • Yea..in USA they would have been kicked out in seconds..

    lol

  • Eh not in a bigger city like NY or something....maybe if cops came along, but others would probably ignore em...

  • nice double tounging on the lower register

  • nice chops!

  • AWSOME WICKED!!!
