This is a great idea and thanks for posting! I take my hoop in my pool and use it to practise my isolations. You should try it! When the hoop is vertical the water holds it in place and I can work on my hand placement . Hoops go everywhere!
message to lisa. i think u got great talent. liked ur flips etc. u make it look v easy. 5 stars x maybe u2 can try handstands and backwardrolls next in pool? x matt from uk
I used to play with hula hoops all the time in the swimming pool--it was one of my favorite things to play with! Now that I hoop as well I always have a hoop in the pool. Usually I use one of those cheap plastic Wal-Mart hoops.
I do love this! I totally want to try and play with a hoop in a pool...I can't imagine the blissful flow that will ensue. I guess you would have to make a specific hoop that didn't have gaffer tape because of the water. Maybe this can be a hooper's experiment for the summer? You should post a thread about it on tribe! Christabel would really love something like this, she's very into flow like that.
Actually this hoop is covered in gaffer's tape, almost exclusively. It didn't take on any water in the pool (and we played with several for about an hour) or get much heavier. In fact, they floated! I was surprised. This whole discovery was like an unexpected discovery. I'm so glad Lisa was amenable to letting me film her. I haven't seen anything else like this in the hoop realm. It's exciting! I plan to share it on Tribe soon ... once Tribe is back up. Probably Monday.
I can't take any credit for this surprise. This was all Lisa. She looks like a dolphin! When she started combining synchronized swimming with hooping, I was like, "Let me run grab my video camera! My hooper friends are going to love this!" I've never seen anything like it but I bet we'll be seeing it again once it enters the group hoop mind. Esther Williams would love it
Thanks! Tell Lisa she looks sexy swimming like that :-)

I started incorporating my hoop into my yoga practice a while back... I'm taking into the pool tomorrow! That looked like fun!
