  • Stellar!

I have the 'Love Child' album by Diana Ross & The Supremes and always thought this was an exceptional and haunting song. Your work on it is fantastic!

  • Would you say you have a very long ring finger?

  • Sweet!

  • excellent stuff!

  • third finger is only used in thumb position on upright bass....not on electric

  • Groovy man!

  • Good job man. I like your sound.

  • great! I'd like to hear "What's the buzz" from JC superstar by you.

  • very very nice!!!

  • Nice sound

  • love that 70's sound! awesome!

  • WOW!!! Dude you should do "I Was Made To Love Her". So far you've played jamerson's licks just like him!!!

  • Great groove

  • EXCELLENT jamerson would be proud..

I challenge you to cover this :) it should be fun practice

  • Outstanding job. I don't know why people fail to realize how intricate those old Motown bass lines are. Well done

  • nice dude. sick bass jam. big fan. love the blue color of your fender.

  • Good job man...trying to learn it myself

  • I love this song!!

And I have been studying JJ's line for 14years with Jamerson Book.

    Great!!

  • I've listened to it for aboutg an hour now.. I'm a great fan of James as well...

You did better than I ever will.

    thanks for posting

    Erik

  • Awesome work man you layed that down so well ! i have a jazz to such awesome basses :)

  • Great tone and great playing man!

    I assume it's a Fender P-Bass

    Are you using flats?

I am also a big fan of Jamerson and play most of his lines, this one is one of my favourites.

    Keep the faith!

  • nope, it's a jazz! I have D'Addario Chrome Flats on there

  • I should have known............especially as I own several different J's and P's!

How do you record your sound for youtube?

  • Also, just out of interest, which Jamerson bassline have you found the most challenging to learn?

  • @NGNBoone did Jamerson ever say how he got to play so well? did he ever have formal training?

  • @AutopsyReport22 He did have some formal training in high school, but also hustled on the Detroit-jazz scene as a youngster building his reputation as a solid upright bassist. He almost went the university route before deciding to go on the road with various bands leading up to his prestigious tenure with Motown and his eventual switch to electric bass guitar. Great man and great musician, though troubled, I wish he were still around.

  • @DMob888333 yeah, i heard Gordy treated them badly.

  • @AutopsyReport22 it's a shame. It's like they could have quit and walked out on him. It seems like Berry's a good guy in a lot of ways, but I guess he had that sense of ownership get to his head a lot.

  • amazing!! Im a big jamerson nut

  • Excellent, man!

  • i really enjoyed that - thanks.
