I recently purchased this item. I was wondering what is the best Handwriting Recognition Software out there? And is it better than the software from ACECAD?
is it possible to see it on pc while you are writing or drawing something. I mean to use it as a board for a class by connecting the pc to a video projector?
Target sells something similar to this, but instead of a a pad it is just a pen, but you have to buy their special notebooks. It is called the Livescribe Pulse. Though the notebooks are about the same size as regular notebooks, they cost like $8 and up. The pen itself is about $170 =(
It looks like many people are looking for a touch screen note pad without paper to take notes on and transfer to a pc. I can't understand why it hasn't been developed. I would love something designed like a Kindle or a little large where I could use a stylus to write on it. It could have two modes one that would translate writing to text and the other where it would simply copy exactly what you scribble on it. Why aren't these guys getting it? It would be light weight and so portable.
I agree with you completely! I am looking for a touchscreen digital tablet whiceh is the same size as a regular paper (8.5" by 11"). I just something to take notes on as I would on normal paper, and want the ability to 'turn' pages, giving me a new page to write new notes on,
Hopefully a device like that developes befor the next school year, which is when I will be going to university.
Well, I ended up buying the cheapest/smallest tabletpc there is from ebay(around 250). It's not exactly what I was looking for, but with the windows journal software, it actually does the job. And I've cleaned almost everything out of it so all it's good for is writing stuff on the journal software. Maybe this will help you leiona. Let me know if you find something else.
Hearing about this for the first time.

1)How can it cut through so many pages to digitise?
2) Can you use any old pen, or does it have to a specialy type of pen?
3) Can you scrap the paper and use it directly on the screen?

I acutually got one of those. With all of the accesories you need to get it to work and hold memory and stuff is costs a little more than this pad.

I'm disappointed that I can't find anything like what you said either.

Martalaura - The IRex Digital Reader does what you want, I think - downside it's quite expensive. But check out the products from Irex.
