  • necesitas el chip xeno?

  • Try DVD-R

    DVD+R Stresses the laser.

  • That's what you get for using piracy against Nintendo.

  • DVD-R works for all games not DVD+R it don't work

  • I have exactly the same problem with my cube, I'll try to replace the entire laser because adjusting the laser didn't work. I supose changing the laser is the definitive solution. You can buy it for a very low price (15 - 30 $)

  • Use -R

    You can buy MINI DVD-R on w w w (.dottt.) dealextreme (.dottt.) c o m.

Also check by the fan part if you see a red light or green.

If green the modchip is working.

  • Use dvd-r instead....dvd+r sux xeno dick....also ensure the solder on your direct install flowed properly to the points

  • you need to make sure your pressing start when you loading a multi disc game.

if the light of the chip stays red. you should check your soldering.

  • Nintendo OWNED you

  • I got the same problem, my laser is already 160ohm, put it down to 80 and still didn't work. I tried different media with different (but ultimately the same) results.

The chip is working because the light goes green and when I boot an original I can get it do display the version ok.

Gamecubes are a pain in the butt!

  • @RetroRepair

it could be you gamecube itself. Anyway, did you:

1 - tried you unchiped gamecube with an original game before.

1.5 - check if a modchip was installed before (some people keep they chip when selling they gamecube).

    2 - Use fstfix (youfile.iso) f t.

3 - burn with clonecd (or imgburn but i never tried) and NOT nero.

4 - make a wired installation with the shortest lenght of wires possible.

5 - lower you laser at 10 unit at the time to prevent you laser to fry.

  • @greenuranium It works now but only after about an hour and a half of messing around. There is a sweet spot on mine at about 190ohm. I swear, at 189 or 191 it doesn't work.

  • @greenuranium fs fix does shit all. IMGburn is the best to use clonecd is shit.

  • @RetroRepair

    Wired or direct?

  • @greenuranium DIrect.

  • Just by the sound it's makes, You got an old, dying gamecube here so i hope you used wires for you xenogc. Anyway.

    1 - Install you chip.

2 - test it with an orignal game to see if it load then try a backup. If original doesn't boot and used to, check you chip.

3 - if backup doesn't load, lower pot 5 UNIT AT THE TIME(Look of a tutorial on the net like ConsoleWorkshop)

4 - If disk load but doesn't run, look fir that magic (command line)utility FSTFIX.EXE to fix gc iso.

  • el problema es que tienes que usar mini dvd no dvd normales

  • it doesn't matter, as long as the iso is burned correctly the GCN will read it on either a dvd or mini dvd

  • oh yea, sorry I dont speak spanish very well, but I can read it alright

    ke no sirvio !

  • adjust your laser sir.

  • Its your fault not the chips, you either have a game of the wrong file size for that disc, poor media, or you simply need to adjust your laser..

Either way you look at it your in the wrong

  • Chip soldered not qualitatively.

  • You need to use MINI-DVDs in 1.4 or 1.5GB. That's what GCN uses for its games.

  • No he dosn't it'll work just fine with a large disc.... Anyway the the laser pot seems to be the problem as 8bitbubsy pointed out

  • Sorry, I didn't know :P

  • ^^ Buy a DVD RECORDER firm NEC !! is great recorder for gamecube.. i had sony recorder and have this same problem.. i change recorder to NEC and 100% working on my VERMATIM DVD-r :D

  • You need to adjust the laser POT... Get a multimeter, slect 2000 ohm and measure.. 150-200 ohm is a good value for reading backups.

  • @8bitbubsy

you seem to know about the chip can you tell me if i need to do that if i have those small discs?
