Any tutorials on how to get into making this type of music? I'm a huge fan, have a midi controller, and don't know where to start... I'm familiar with MilkyTracker.
@sayhitotom I made this song on a Nintendo Gameboy using a homebrew program called LSDJ. If you want to use MIDI, there's a very good softsynth called Plogue Chipsounds that's very accurate. I prefer working with the Gameboy myself, but it has a very high learning curve.
Great use of envelopes to keep the whole song feeling loose! And those grace notes are cool! But that bass towards the end is sick! I felt like this was an under-appreciated track. Keep up the fantastic work. :)
@officialBitman thanks man! By studying the play stats, I realize I should have just put all my best tracks at the beginning of the album, they have over double the amount of plays. Oh well. Again, thanks, you definitely picked up on the subtleties that I really worked to perfect.
Just found out about LSDJ and boy am I glad knowing that a GBM + EZ flash card is lying around here somewhere
