  • @Jinxxed0 damn I'm in the same boat, I just need to find a barber that can hook it up... Genuine from '89!!!

  • A classic with a catchy rhythm and bass line. Who knew a few years later this song was released that Kid n' Play would make a few movies like House Party together?

  • I'm 35, I still love this jam. Damn. I.'m old!

  • @Dactuck LOL!!!!

  • This jam had the hottest beat ever in rap! Many rap james that came out after this, used this same beat in different ways1

  • man when i was 9 yrs old people said i look like kid bcuz my high top lol

  • Woah woah woah, wait a minute, why do black people get to wear hitler staches and its cool, but not whiteys. Damn that hitler, ruined a perfectly good stache.

  • imma bust out that foot tap dance when Obama win again in 2012 lol

  • Kid look's like red head king pen in this vid LOL!! man the good ol days of hip hop,rap and r&b

  • @MrEd209ish YEah, man! PPl don't rap or sing FOR REAL anymore! The majority of music today is very plastic and copied and fake today! No innovation!

  • aww da days when video girls were doing something safe and playful not dancing like sluts

  • damn i feel old. lol

  • @atkinsgina You too? I remember when this was the Jam.

  • I need to go find class act on DVD

  • the baddest rap duo in history. man i wish there was another group like these 2! you rock kid n play!

  • My cousin and I used to do the Kid N Play Kick-Step down in the basement listening to this thinking we were cool as hell. The good old days.

  • 3:25 LeBron and Wade.

  • Hairstyles used to be so creative back then

  • This will definitely be one of the songs at my wedding reception... gonna party it up xD

  • I remember. I hurt a calf muscle on that move.

  • i remember seeing this on tv when it came out when i was in nyc. i immediately thought what a great, catchy tune and i always remembered kid n play's dance moves - especially the foot tapping routine. as good now as it was all those years ago. top tune.

    that'll be EPIC

  • Back when rap used to be about having fun.

  • Play is sexy

  • IF YOU WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING THAT BRINGS BACK THE 90'S FLAVOR WHEN THERE WAS ACTUALLY GOOD MUSIC CHECK MY MUSIC OUT!

  • this was these 2 cornballs' best song.

  • @MsL0vie they aint cornballs they legends

  • @doox420 Real Talk... they Legends. Part of the reason so many people had fun with hip hop was seeing their videos while they were jamming and having a good time . :)

  • @doox420 Straight up truth brother!

  • This was soooooooooooo dope!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • look at dat hair!!

  • Who the F picked those females in the video geez. I'm sure these guys could have gone around the way in Queen,NY and picked much better looking Black young women to be in the video but the label took total control of the casting. It's so nauseating when " other" types get involved with the art form and feel the need to inject their crap into it. Those females playing the instruments are stiff, bland and sexless.

  • @ANCIENTMYS True, but I'd still hit that. All of them.

  • that's when HIP HOP was FUN N FRESH!!!!!

  • the male salt and pepa?

  • hmm i like how they supermaned dat ho at 3:48

  • Great memories:) Remember "Ez-Rock @ Rob Base"? "It takes two", Schooly D? "Saturdaynight",or Biz Markie? "Picking boogers". Special Ed, look at some of his early stuff. All some of the best of old school!!!

  • 3:21 what happened to this in rap. Today's rap don't even make you wanna make new steps up. Rap ain't nuthin unless you got the funk, soul, jazz, blue, and/or classic rock in it.

  • classic

  • Hip-Hop in its purest form, back when you needed lyrical skills to be in the business. No gimicks, its called talent!!

  • hey was the girl in there the one that went with blade was her name

  • high top wasnt that high @ that time huh kid?

  • kid reminds me of Eminem

  • God I miss the days of high top fades, spandex and when hip hop was DOPE.

  • Kid N Play was the shit!!! It was so cool when they appeared on the Hip Hop Awards 09', and they came out on stage when those two young guys (can't remember their names lol) said that they wanted to be the first group to rap and dance. Then Kid N Play came out and did there dance!! They still got the moves!! That was a cool appearance from them:)

  • Recuerdo que alguien me regalo el "casette" y me encantaba...

Tenía 8 años... A CASO ME DROGABA?

  • Back when hip hop was alive! R.I.P real hip hop!

  • my cousin looks like kid n play

  • I Thought The End Was So Funny, Later That Day They Still Do The Kick Step LMAO

  • One of the best rap songs ever Period

  • Don't front Queens, everyone's hard now but Kid n Play to us is like Fresh Prince to Philly. Classic Hip Hop Legends, Salute!!

  • @ 3:35 those dudes is doing the same dance Raj use to do on What's Happening lol

  • lol i swear to god he just tried to pindrop at the end

  • aye aye u there lol this is good music dawg...

  • i could swear ive heard elements of this song sampled all the time in more recent hip hop. e.g. the siren-esque effect and trumpet.

what a classic. love their cartoon too

  • oh man, love these guys. I would practice that dance and damn near break my ass...lol...I was 12 then so I bounced back. I wish the music today was fun like it was back then.

  • Deja Vu

  • dig that MCM dance....wow....flashback

  • i was about 17 when this came out...i miss those days.... dig that kid n play kickstep.

  • mad sample!stetsa used it too.

  • What i also love about this ol' school video from them is when you think the video is voer and it's fading out, they bring it back and they're still ridin' that shit out!!!

  • PLAY was my fav to!

  • wow i loved kid n play when i was a little kid, i watched all of their films, but Play was my favorite he was so sexy!

  • I've been looking all over for this video, One of my all time favorite vids. Simple but it intorduced me to the Kick step and is one of the two songs I know by heart from them.

  • BLADE BROWN IS THA MAN!

  • "my way" dun no im 13 but when i was 5 my older sis wud listen to this and i still remember it and i always used to say tht one line by kid let me pick the girl thats giving sex to me its time to colllect my fee

  • Remember when they did that leg thing almost bust my ass trying to do that LOL these young people today need to dance their stress out like we use to maybe they would have less violence

  • @lilsauke they do tht leg thing again

  • Thats so funny. I did the same thing. I was 18 then.!! broke my ass!! Hhahaha

  • @lilsauke nah...we were really violent then...I mean the 90's there was more of a fuss from the Far Right back then over hiphop...and not only that but all over entertainment

  • @lilsauke U ARE SOOOOO RITE,, I DANCE FROM THE TIME I WOKE UP,,,,,, THATS ALL WE DID WAS DRESS,, AND DANCE,,, AND THINK BOUT NEW ROUTINES

  • @lilsauke i'm 13 and i hate the way pple dance today. i wish we can bring it back to the 90's.

  • @lilsauke we do now very retro very positive. look up the jerkin movement

  • @lilsauke With what music lol.

  • @lilsauke I could only do it in the pool! LMAO!!!!!!!

  • Everyone loved "Gittin Funky", but this was my fave Kid n Play joint. The beat was ill for back then..... the horns, sirent & bass were crazy together. The Dance: The kid N Play Kick Step........ we always used to do this and get mad when your partner messed it up. LOL Oh, and that move Play used to do, jumping 1 leg through the other....... alot of peeps hurt themselves trying to do that chit!! LOL

  • @Cappadonna72 I know! Same here. this was my fave joint from them too! Its true the beat was ill for back then. Still is. Only we can appreciate it and anyone else who grew up on it. The kick step'll always be a classic. We didn't mess that up because we did it like in House Party n studied it to a tee, lol. We did it so well ppl thought we made it up. Never got hurt doin Play's move cuz I practiced it in the pool. Lol. And it worked! But ur right about that tho! Peace!

  • lmao i forgot mtv played used to play music

  • Hard to believe this is 23 years ago

  • @djseriousbizness Good lord, don't remind me! Oh well u can't fight time.(lol)

  • @djseriousbizness

Yeah I feel old...shit, I'm 24 now, so I was only one (technically 17 months old) when this was released :P

  • @djseriousbizness Been that long, damn.....

  • This what we used to do at the high school dances 1988 - 1990. Look @ 3:17-3:40. We used to make a circle round the boyz..while we hit the floor do the kid n play dance there. Those boyz were BAD!!! I'm tellin u!

  • those times were funnnn!!! :D

  • those women in the band look fine

  • And did you notice how they are fully dress and not expose their skin. This was time when men respect black woman and they didn't made them feel worthless. This will come back soon.

  • i dont think it was the black mans fault

  • There were so many styles to choose from back then. Playful stuff, serious message stuff, violent gangsta rap stuff... now its all the same shit plus autotune.

  • For real, music has changed for the worst

  • I agree, this is classic shit and should be in a glass case. I think their dj name was wiz ..............good ol days

  • I was just saying the same thing. I think it has something to do with rap being mainstream now.

  • Kewl.

  • Play got a Hitler tash :(

  • this is wat hip hop is. this crap kids listen to 2day sux. every1 wants to kill some1. atleast in old skool rap u can laugh n make fun cool dances lol

  • So glad you like my clips, as you can see my taste in music is all over the place.

  • And Lebron had a nerve to have a insurance commercial dissin Kid N Play & the whole 90's scene. Screw his era & the "jerk" scene! Now that's a whack dance it's just the running man in reverse.

  • thats rejecting learn how to jerk ts not wack n jerkin our influses s old school dancing one of the moves the hop over leg n jerkin we got t from kd n play

  • Yeah, the Jerk makes Black males look like metrosexuals! lol

  • UGH the 90's !!!!

  • no, late 80's...

  • wow hommie. this is whats up.

  • perfect

  • 3:24 Awesome kick dance

  • why do they have no ass white girls in this video?? lmao

  • Shewt, this is awesome

  • BAD

    Body Action Dancers

  • The girl who "plays drums" looks familiar, maybe an actress?

  • Them background dancers look like Salt n Pepa!

  • It Possibly could be. Kid 'N Play and Salt 'N Pepa were real close. They both have the same Producer Hurby Lovebug. And they toured together in the 80's

  • It wasn't salt n Pepa, but you're right they were in each others videos.

  • They all used to work at SEARS department store. That's when Luvbug was also an intern.

  • it's possible they had the same manager.

  • Yeah, I loved this beat from the 80's. Observations: yeah, 'MikeEasy01', the 80's was on that lightskinnededness! LOL If you do the research, a lot of the pioneers of hiphop were West Indian....Play, Doug E Fresh, KRS-One, etc. etc. See, we all got the same blood. Let's just do it!

  • kid is half irish

  • how come those shoes in the beginning are still hot 20 years later...crazy.

  • LOL

  • why Paly gotta Hitler mustache?

  • Play looks like Kobe Bryant's brother!

  • Look at Play at 1:26, never could do that move!

  • Keep Prakticing, ;0)

  • damn, back then it must have been against the law to have a girl in your video darker than Michael Jackson's complexion

  • why don't they make rap like this anymore? this was the best!

  • illest beat second only to getting funky which is the best beat of all time yell

  • Play was the first rapper witha clothing line

  • way better than will smith, kid n play the original party dudes

  • i love kids hair

  • damn this is early like 1989 kid n play before kids high top was even..high..back in the days!

  • it is cooooooooooooooooooooool

  • This was my jam back in the day. My cousins and I would be in the bedroom having the boom box blastin', dancing and jammin' to this. This takes me back fo' real!!!

  • hip hop will never sound as much fun and innocent like this anymo. this is soul dope FRESH =]

  • lol look at kids fade b4 its Prime wat year was this

  • I remember this!! WHOOOH!!!!!

  • @nldrayson thank yu Papi:o)

  • i am definitly requesting this throwback joint on old school lunch tomorrow

  • THAT'S THROWBACK FOR YO ASS!!

  • Remember..its 3:30, you just got home, fuck dat homework, flip on THE BOX and watch the hottest video and dance....22years later here is Lebron doing the dance in a parking lot...That was the influence of Hip Hop...freedom to create, wear ur hair the way u want, and the baggy colorful clothes..self expression..then somebody said fuck the police and weve been stuck in gangsta rap ever since..no progression, no expression, just crabs fake beefin and the record compaines laffin...

  • Play was fine OMG!! I wonder what he looks like now cause Kid looks old.

  • Man, I miss them. But, I can remember thinking that they were wack, cuz I was getting into the more hardcore hiphop. Their kinda hiphop was just too soft for me at the time. Now, I miss them and that kind of hiphop, that hiphop that you could have fun to. Everything is about some political shit, thuggin, or the like. Not saying that that hiphop doesn't have it's place cuz I do like some of it, but still... To me, hiphop, at this time, was at it's apex, and I so miss it now:(

  • you sound like a tortured soul bruh. Want what you can't have. When you had it, didn't like it. Got what you wanted, don't want it, and want now what you didnt like, lol. this isn't a reoccuring theme for you bro is it? lol

  • HOUSE PARTY!!! LOL

  • dope

  • Yo when my wedding comes...Imma do the Kid 'N' Play dance. I better practice. ;D
