  • nice

  • Having a difficult time hearing you and I have headphones on...

  • i cant take it anymore =s

  • @rosenwannabe Check Vizova videos, they are much better

  • very low sound quality....

  • stop bit***** ............its a very good lecture keep up the good work

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • am sorry to say this but this was absolutely boring..

  • Just wish the vocals could be louder

  • Thanks for posting, I had always wondered why Lead II was used and you told me! On more nursing mystery I had wondered and questioned Dr.s on in my 20 some odd years of nursing.

As for zaxterry's comment on talking above their heads, uuuhhhh, learn about the heart and how its made before watching this video. The title doesn't say The absolute beginners guide to the heart. Geesh

If you had talked 'simpler', medical professionals (who this is for) would have been bored stiff!

  • yes mine is 200th like :P

  • This is absolutely excellent!

  • very helpful for my biomedical laboratory.....thanks a lot

  • very helpfull , thanks

  • I have 2 questions. On the Slide for the Right Ventricular Hypertrophy, The R wave did not follow the decreasing pattern like you said in the notes because on R wave on lead V3 is actually longer than that on V2 before it starts decreasing again from V4 to 6. I also did not know that on normal ECG's R waves should nt be longer than S waves.

When describing axis, are we paying attention to the positive waves P,R and T or just R...?Also how do you convert the boxes to mm or to measure with a ruler

  • i am from Brazil in south america and i loved this video ...

  • @JanetteDeF yes actually each small box is 0.04 seconds and each large box is made from 5 small boxes so multiplying 0.04 by 5 you get 0.2 :)

  • boring teaching even if the info is all there

  • I did not find any course to print out at the address given.

  • why is there missing plug in?

  • Not clear to me at all !

  • Good teaching

  • i think probably too much time is being spent stating very basic methods of ecg interpretation

  • is the rhythm strip on the bottom of most ECGS a standard length? becasue I've been told that a quick way of calculating the rate is to count the number of QRS complexes in the rhythm strip and multiply by 6.

  • @Wingwalkermusic I think you multiply by ten..

  • @Angie31085 yes you do! Good point!

  • thanks for posting the presentation. Just had a pt showing Q waves in 12lead ekg and symptomatic for almost 24 hrs. Straight to ER. Thanks for clarifying Q waves.

  • plz, can anyone translate into spanish? thanks

  • Thanks this is fantastic for revision

  • thank you so much. this is very helpful

  • Good Video --- alot of info

  • The sound is terrible. It takes so much away from what seems like a good lecture.

  • Must have louder microphone to broadcast

  • @jopetcaber Please use a speaker to listen to this. This is a review but a good review

  • lausy sound

  • ty for the video. very informative. thx again

  • i'm a nurse studying on ecg interpretation...

thank you doctors! keep it up!

  • Its not that hard. Its easier knowing the 5 lead telemetry system first.

  • Deadly right you are it is really great video. Best, RJ

  • great video... must enlarge the pictures....

  • wonderful

  • The female doctor is too close to the microphone. Her air sounds are a bit sharp and hurts my ears when I'm wearing headphones =(

  • please why you are talking like a sleepy ??

  • Lol, I go to the other UW.

  • yep okay cant wait for course 2 now

  • Good video, but kind of dry. Jazz it up a bit and it will not feel like such a chore to go through.

  • Brilliant vid. Thanks for posting!

  • No doubt that it is excellent vedio but I will suggest to guide the students that how the waves originates and how the QRS complex is formed. Its the basics and I hope by explaining all this it will be easy for every one to deeply understand the ECG.

Please give treatment tips , the best according to you.

  • Each box is indeed 0.2 seconds.

  • excellent

  • im finally starting to get this but i dont understand the 3rd strip about 5 min into the video(irregular)y are they multiplying 8 x ten and not 9x ten? there are 9 r waves not 8...... im confused and y arnt we counting 33 boxes?? someone please message me and help me before i fail my class!

  • you need to count the R-R intervals, which were 8, not thr R waves, which were 9. the reason you count 30 boxes is because each box is 0.2 seconds, so to get a 6 sec strip, you will need 30 boxes. so to get the rate per minute, you will need to multiply the 8 (R-R) intervals by 10 (6 sec multiply by 10 will be 60 seconds). hope this helps

  • tnx

  • which technique is the easiest, the 6 second method as you mentioned, 300 divide the number of boxes in between R's or just counting via the " 300 150 100 75 60" method?

  • the easiest method is the "300, 150, 100, 75, 60, & 50" but it is not an accurate method when it comes to irregular rythyms. for irregular rythyms, you would be best adviced to use the 10 multiplied by the # of R-R intervals in a 6 sec strip

  • there's isnt an easiet technique. as he said the 6 second method is for cases like atrial fibrillation and 300 divide by boxes is for cases like bradycardia; both where the common calculation method cannot be used.

  • Correct. Large box 0.2 Small box 0.04

BTW: Check out Dr Caldwell Esselstyns athersclerosis related lecture on video.google.

  • tnx, very helpful

  • Thank you .... excellent video. and an excellent EKG Approach

  • Wonderful explanation! Thanks and please keep posting.

  • looking for rcis review materials

  • an educational video especially for students who wants to learn about ecg. more power.

  • great teaching and very helpful, plz keep posting. Thank you
