There is a reason why there will never be a WCW One Night Stand. This video shows you why. There is no other promotion on Earth that can say that fans AND wrestlers share the same amount of heart and dedication. ECW was revived by WWE for this reason. It died when Vince put the title on himself instead of guys like Sabu, Balls Mahoney and Sandman who were all very over with fans at the time, but it still was still a good idea. Just the wrong person had the idea though.
@ecwfaithful I'm sure they regret it very highly. At least Paul Heyman regrets it. All he got was a few extra paychecks. Rob Van Dam got 2 world titles. BTW, the ECW title was a world title till Vince got it. CM Punk and John Morrison were great champions, but Vince's reign put the title on life support. Kane winning the title on the the 1 and only Wrestlemania appearance in 8 seconds pulled the plug. Kevin Nash won the WWE Title in 8 seconds, but it was a house show, not f****ng Wrestlemania!
@jayhoyt28 Paul is undecided on going to TNA because the only way he wants to join is being either the owner or just a gm but no manager for some wrestler or something. They should have an extreme division devoted to hardcore antics along with the x division devoted to death defying stunts, Heyman could manage the "extremists" or what are now called the "EV2.0" since WWE owns the copyright to the letters ECW meaning if TNA utters those letters at anytime they will be sued.
I find it funny that on a WWE produced ppv, he says he was smoking a joint with RVD, then shortly after winning the WWE championship, RVD is pulled over and arrested for weed and WWE suspends him. Everyone knows RVD gets high, it's practically his gimmick, who cares?

There is a reason why there will never be a WCW One Night Stand. This video shows you why. There is no other promotion on Earth that can say that fans AND wrestlers share the same amount of heart and dedication. ECW was revived by WWE for this reason. It died when Vince put the title on himself instead of guys like Sabu, Balls Mahoney and Sandman who were all very over with fans at the time, but it still was still a good idea. Just the wrong person had the idea though.

@ecwfaithful I'm sure they regret it very highly. At least Paul Heyman regrets it. All he got was a few extra paychecks. Rob Van Dam got 2 world titles. BTW, the ECW title was a world title till Vince got it. CM Punk and John Morrison were great champions, but Vince's reign put the title on life support. Kane winning the title on the the 1 and only Wrestlemania appearance in 8 seconds pulled the plug. Kevin Nash won the WWE Title in 8 seconds, but it was a house show, not f****ng Wrestlemania!

@jayhoyt28 Paul is undecided on going to TNA because the only way he wants to join is being either the owner or just a gm but no manager for some wrestler or something. They should have an extreme division devoted to hardcore antics along with the x division devoted to death defying stunts, Heyman could manage the "extremists" or what are now called the "EV2.0" since WWE owns the copyright to the letters ECW meaning if TNA utters those letters at anytime they will be sued.

I find it funny that on a WWE produced ppv, he says he was smoking a joint with RVD, then shortly after winning the WWE championship, RVD is pulled over and arrested for weed and WWE suspends him. Everyone knows RVD gets high, it's practically his gimmick, who cares?

Ironic how everyone chants " Thank you Paul " and " Paul E " towards the same man who bounced checks for his employees, could not secure a national television network for his company that was already massively watered down and should have always remained a " underground " promotion. ECW was, and I say was, a nice concept for its time but it's dead now and people should stop beating it to death with invasion angles and one night stands and so forth. It served its purpose, nice knowing you, RIP.

@jckoby What you say fits for most of the concepts of the past. But in a time where wrestling fans of past and present are completely tired of PG programming ECW is exactly what is needed. And truth be known ECW was as close as it could be to becoming what it still has the potential to be. Heyman was the hardest working promoter and was scratching and clawing for his guys but became a victim of the time. ECW never reached its full potential and now is the prime time for that to happen and.....

@jckoby ...the fans are ready. Say what you want about TNA but you cant deny that Dixie Carter is doing everything in her power to give the fans what they want. If Heyman decides to come on board I believe ECW will become what it was destined to be because Dixie will give Heyman full creative control without watering anything down like Vince did and being on Spike there is alot more freedom. ECW is not dead and if Heyman gets on board it will be proven.

@DuncanoBoydo Thats been rumored for years. And I would definately give it a chance if it was to happen but right now Paul would be a great fit for TNA. I however dont see it happening as much as I did when I left that comment because I thought it would have happened when the originals announced their intentions.

ECW was great for its time, but they lacked a stable infrastructure to survive, let alone challenge insanely popular, massively funded and stable productions such as WWF/E and WCW at the time. And for the people that said that Heyman is a honest businessman, I'll just say that Jim Cornette would heavily disagree. The point is that with the hardcore angle is simple. It's done. Played out and depleted. That's why Bischoff is superior.

Actually no, pretty much what he was saying was that during that time period HHH was the champion, he was booking himself as champion (After Summerslam 02 - WM21) If HHH was on the same show as JBL during JBLS reign from GAB - WM21 well JBL wouldn't of even been in the main event as HHH would of been champion.

Benoit Murder/Suicide was pretty much the coffin in anything edgy in the WWE.
The death of Eddie and deaths of other wrestlers afterwards has stopped all hard hits to the head and drug use (mostly).
They are playing the company safe so the current generation won't be dead before they are 40 like so many wrestles ended up over the past 10 years.

Paul Heyman is the man. He's always cared about wrestling, and putting on a good show for us everyday guys who enjoy their beer, bewbs, and a good joint from time to time. He's never sold out. He's as real as is gets.
