I'm watching buffy for the first time ever now, im up to episode 4, but I'm already hooked. My sisters gonna buy me the box set for my birthday. YAAAY. I already love Sarah so much. I just realised I've literally grown up with her. I was born in 97, and I sort of grew up knowing about buffy, and she was in scooby doo haha, I love her!!
It would be funny when she's reading that story to the children a vampire runs in and she drives a stake through his heart, and then continues reading as if nothing happened.
The Grudge, Scoobies and every other movie that has sucked that she's been in is easily been cancelled out for Buffy alone. She has proven herself times infinity and as far as I'm concerned if she's in a bad movie than its just a bad script.

Sarah had a great point, because she knows Joss is a great artist, and yes great movies can be made by other directors, but Buffy the series became such a great thing in television history, like The Brady Bunch, or The Little Rascals. Some things that are great should be left alone..

Though I would like to mention that Sarah was a bit off in her reasoning concerning hte importance of books. Certainly, they are important, but the digital age will not take away from the the number of people reading, rather it can actually bring books to more audiences. I just realised I've literally grown up with her. I was born in 97, and I sort of grew up knowing about buffy, and she was in scooby doo haha, I love her!!

The Grudge, Scoobies and every other movie that has sucked that she's been in is easily been cancelled out for Buffy alone. She has proven herself times infinity and as far as I'm concerned if she's in a bad movie than its just a bad script.
More to the point Buffy without her or Whedon isn't only stupid but flat out career suicide. Intend to boycott the movie and blacklist anyone who gets involved they will prove themselves the opposite in my eyes as they show me their poor judgement.

she's just pissed cos she's not gonna profit off of it personally i think it could be good to have a better origin movie than the original buffy movie (as that did suck) as long as they stick to the story that she's a cheer leader at hemery high school and her watcher is called merrick.Just cos Joss is not involved is not a bad thing after the original 1992 movie he was involved in sucked. so i say give it a chance and if they do a good job great if they don't we burn their houses down lol

@stevep119 I fear that this Buffy movie will be made to make money, much like the Twilight movies, with their weak plots and abusive romances. Sarah had a great point, because she knows Joss is a great artist, and yes great movies can be made by other directors, but Buffy the series became such a great thing in television history, like The Brady Bunch, or The Little Rascals. Some things that are great should be left alone..

Spot on. It can't be done. It is a cult classic, you don't just take a cult classic and turn the tables. The reason it was a classic was because of the directors and actors, people formed a bond with them.
To just scrap the whole team and try and recreate it....doesn't sound like it's going to work.

I agree with Sarah here. I get the feeling that this new movie will be like a fan fic come to life. Though I would like to mention that Sarah was a bit off in her reasoning concerning hte importance of books. Certainly, they are important, but the digital age will not take away from the the number of people reading, rather it can actually bring books to more audiences. Her stance is fine, but her reasoning doesn't back it up.
