160 gigabytes a second..?
There would be almost half an exabyte (410 THOUSAND terabytes) a month..
There's just no way that people will have that kind of bandwidth any time soon.. processing even a tenth that much data is just flat out impossible with current processors.. and fiber optic transfer doesn't even come CLOSE to that much bandwidth..
ALL TRAFFIC ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET PUT TOGETHER probably doesn't even come close to 160 gigabytes a second.
Actually all the traffic on the Internet passes that by allot. Also, that chip probably uses p2p technology to take a large burst of data at once instead of over time as they do now. The makers were probably exaggerating when they said one second because they tested it without millions of other people "clogging up their tubes" and therefore had no restrictions regarding the speed they were allowed to hog.

160 Gig a second download wouldn't work because you can't save to your hard drive that fast. You can only download as fast as you can save it.
