Bailouts failed because of system abuses, and admittedly poorly managed by the Democratic government, but was still, in the eyes of every decent economist, the only possible way to prevent a market collapse, recession, and possibly a global recession (which was indeed overted). Healthcare was half-done because it was blocked by the reds.

The housing bubble was caused by the Federal Reserve, as well as Fanny and Freddie, who were not only encouraging ARMs and risky lending, but actually making the bubble possible through the lowering of the fed funds rate... If the federal reserve had let the rates rise naturally, and Fannie and Freddie didn't exist, it would've never happened...

Fanny and Freddie weren't the only institutions giving bad home loans they knew had a high probability of failure... look at countrywide, and bank of america... all less regulated during republican administrations.

The government gave a government guarantee to them, so they should have either deregulated AND removed the guarantee (which I support), or regulate what they can do with it. What the Republicans did was deregulate, but keep the guarantee, which I don't support

We have the best Congress money can buy. Notice how in the places where the Republican machine favored candidate lost the primary how the loser suddenly became an "independent" (like RINO Charlie Crist in FL) and how the Republican machine backed them (or at least hindered the winner's campaign).

As a woman, I voted for George Wallace, along with my Viet Vet husband, in 1968. He was Gov. of Alabama & tried to stop Feds from persecuted and abolishing State's power.
