  • I love this one so much. Thank you!! You and your Grandmother are so beautiful and I loved reading her sweet thoughts of you as a little girl decorating the boxes. ( i did the same and loved to cut out the pictures of birds and flowers on the boxes) Also, I didn't know you could eat the skin on the squash. Thanks again. Can't wait for more videos!

  • your grandma is so cute . This is why Japanese are known to live the longest they eat the most veggies and healthy foods unlike the American and European diets. I'm coming to have some of that soup LOL minus the sardines. ;) great job. Its nice to see how noodles are made Naturally not this garbage GMO stuff we have in America. They are poisoning us with chemicals while Japan is chemical free.. I'm moving there.. that's it. lol

  • @JapanNailsAndMore The sardines are only used to make the dashi stock. They are removed at 5:00 so they are not in the soup.

  • @Aizakku27 I know the sardines are used for stock. I am vegetarian and don't eat fish stock.. that would have to be vegetable stock with soy sauce to it. but for meat eaters the sardines is a great stock. ;)

  • your grandmother is cute. is she single?

  • ur grandma is so cute :D

  • Hi Kumigar! This looks delicious... I didn't know it was so easy to make the noodles. Cool stuff mate. Your Grandmother is hilarious...lol

  • your grandma is so nice. i was happy to see here on your video

  • so hungry right now X(

  • yeay!! hehe.. you're so cute. so do you granny =)

  • there are sardines = not vegetarian! :(((((

  • @bloodredcloud

maybe you can make a diffrent bouillon , the fish is pure just for the bouillon so maybe you can get the bouillon from fresh vegetables.

What do you thinks miss Kumigar?

  • @bloodredcloud oh shit. i missed that.. im sorry!

  • Comment removed

  • @Kumigar u say somthin no goooddd!!! RESCUE

  • @Kumigar you say something bad...

  • @bloodredcloud

You can always replace it with some seaweed like kombu

  • @takadi thanks! ^o^/

  • If there are sardines it's not vegetarian!!!! :(((

  • vary nice

  • i want to be japanese )':

  • Such a great video!

I loved seeing home noodle making.

Your grandma is just adorable and I found you

particularly lovely at 3:19 kneading the dough in this outfit. :)

  • That looks so delicious, thank you for the recipe! Your grandmother seems so kind.

  • @SuperNovaSpark Yes, she is nice to me lol

  • I forgot to mention something. During the winter, our body craves warm food right? when I used to live in N. America, i was very attempted to eat greasy food because of the cold weather.. in Japan, we sure do eat fried foods too, but you can see the difference how we try surviving the winter: eating healthy, easy to digest food that is nutritious and warms up the body so that you can rest/sleep well and you will be energized fully for the next day, and remain genki without gaining weight :-) <3

  • @HitoribocchiHeart チョコレートを毎日一箱食べて空箱を取っておくとは!!ww

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • @Darkdejaj lol

  • yummy kumi...your grandmother is really cute...

  • @boundbyheart thank you so much!

  • I think I will try making the broth. It looks really healthy and just right for this cold weather. Hope to see more cooking videos.

  • @anniemchong yes, as long as you know how to make the broth like in this video, you can easily make miso soup!

  • I would love to learn how to make my own miso paste! It's hard to find miso paste where I live so maybe the ingredients to make it will be easier? :D Love your videos like always and your grandma is wonderful! Defiantly going to try this recipe out soon! ヾ(@^∇^@)ノ

  • @killerteddy100 lol how to make miso is a bit complicated than you think.. i doubt you will be able to find the ingredients to make it, but i will explain in my future video :-)

  • i love grandma kumigar!!

  • @smellycat389 me too! lol

  • Awesome to see Grandma Kumigar! She seems playful & fun.

Okay, I now see that I have to sample Kerri Chandler's work. This is the 2'nd or 3'rd vid you've done now with his music, and I'm lovin it, especially this one.

    Take care of yourself :)

  • @JunmaiShu Yes, Mr. Kerri Chandler is one of my favorite producers and the DJ.. amazing person too :-)

  • more video with your grandma please ! she's soo cuutte!

  • @xXpikachooXx yes, when she comes and visit again, i will make something :-) my grandma does not live with us during the winter cause it is too cold here.

  • @kawaiiilingzz aww thank you!

  • omg, i wish my grandma is sweet as yourss ><

  • @gildamuten :-)

  • eh... :) sorry for spam, but I have fourth question: Can I use shitake mashrooms?

  • @koencia Of course! pretty much, you can put any vegetables that you may put in a stew (no tomatoes though)

  • one more thing... I don't know with what I should replace Japanese potatos :/

  • @koencia Just normal potatoes will do

  • @artz900 thx :*

  • @koencia :-)

  • @artz900 yes! in Japan, we have other kinds of potatoes, but danshaku potatoes are best suited for this dish, and that is all Im saying lol

  • Thank you for that vegetarian recipe! :* Can I use different pumpkin, eg butternut and sardines from a can?

  • @koencia butternut- i would imagine it will go well.. the sardines from a can.. hmm i think it will be tooo fishy ... maybe use just very little sardines..but i have never tried it so not sure how much.. dried sardines do not smell really strong.. but canned sardines got really powerful smell so not sure if you will enjoy it.. u know what i mean?

  • @Kumigar I guess I just should cook sardines from can without soaking? I have never seen dry one in my country :( I have some fish sauce (bright) from anchovies I could use it instead I suppose, it doesn't taste anchovies, just gives fishy flavour :) When I cook Asian dishes it's always some compromises and replacing :/ but this year I'll have at least fresh lemon grass from my mother in law ^_^! Thanks for the recipe again! :*

  • I just recently subscribed and this was the first video I got! Absolutely loved it! :D <3

  • your grandmother warms my heart (:

  • @Mowgley3000 thank you :-)

  • how do you make this if you don't own a microwave? >o<

  • @shojofreshman do you have a steamer?? or rice cooker? just need to steam a little bit so that the elasticity of the dough gets sticky enough to handle :-)

  • may I ask how old your grandmother is? She looks absolutely amazing!

  • @faylinameir My grandma is like 88? not quite so sure but late in her 80s..

  • I think Kumigar should make her own recipe book, I would buy it!
