I would say it is better for FFVII to be remake in PS3. Or this issue will rather be prolonged. The dating sims you get during FFVII had make a few misconnection for zack, aerith and cloud. So, I would say for it to be remake and this time, without the dating sims. Then, our little issue here will be solved.
I wonder if Zack thought about what she said here again after he learns later she's the last Cetra/Ancient on Earth. She's not exactly normal herself.
The music for their first date is interesting, it's very dark, and somber. It's almost like a foreshadowing of their fate as lovers. I think its cute how he always tries to downplay the seriousness of his work situation in front of Aerith. You can see him cringe whenever the phone rings when he's with her. They're so cute together :D

Actually, both are right. Crisis Core say it's Aerith, but in the original game it was Aeris. Also, I believe Square has already said both are really fine.
Square attributed the "S" spelling in the initial US release to a translation error, which they've corrected in the PC version of the game and now, have again corrected with the release of Crisis Core.
I think everyone's missing the point: the OP asked "is her name aerith or aeris". He/She didn't ask about how the name is PRONOUNCED - we're talking about SPELLING here. The correct spelling is AERITH. In Japanese the "TH" would still sound like "S" regardless if it were spelled Aerith/Aeris. Translators for the NA release mistakenly spelled it AeriS based on its pronunciation - an error which was fixed in later versions of the original game and CC.
yea lol its one of those translation errors english speakers like me wouldnt notice. Its kind of like how in Japanese the "l" and "r" sounds are combined and therefore pretty ambiguous to english speakers. I myself preffer calling her Aeris though, the name just stuck with me.
I think Aeris knew Zack was dead, but she only denies it. Because in the game of FF7 it was explained that Aeris have the ability to feel dead people in one of the flasbacks.

Technically Zack is the reason she so easily moved on to Cloud. Cloud Had part of Zack's memories and he had is own. 'Sides Cloud is awesome--and it was a 1998 game. If the remake for the ps3 is actually made (everybody start praying now) I'm sure you'd feel diferently.
Agree w/Spyk and also b/c Aerith really thought Zack had 'moved on' with his life and that was the reason she hadn't seen or heard from him in five years. She really didn't know he was dead. I think if she'd known he was killed (and killed trying to see her), she would've been completely distraught in the FF7 game. So, I'm glad she didn't know he was dead or her upbeat, positive character wouldn't have existed in the FF7 game...
I think Aerith is a strong kind of character. She would have been able to recover from Zack being dead, in fact I think it would have been better if she had known that he was dead instead of thinking he must have been some jerk who just left her.
To Joverrated, no she never found out what happened to Zack until she died and met him in the Lifestream herself. It was only then that she learned he was dead.
To eleanore, I agree she would've been able to recover in time, just not necessarily by the time she met Cloud. And THAT definitely would've affected her feelings toward Cloud (given his assumption of Zack's identity). "You're exactly like my dead boyfriend Zack...I'm in love with you." That scenario seems much less likely within the context of her knowing Zack is dead.
My personal interpretation of the final video was that Aerith felt Zack return to the planet but it is generally not in her nature to be dysthimic so naturally she ran along, business of usual until a new, just as good, person showed up.
I may be full of balogna (and a little chicken) but that's how I take it. She still has Zack in her heart it's just she found someone just as super-special-awsome...so to speak
Actually I think that she knew or felt that he died! I mean, in the FF7 game she could feel that Elmyra's husband died and she didn't even know him, but she couldn't feel that her boyfriend died?! O.o
Why does she act so surprised to know that he hadn't contacted his parents in over 10 years in the game? Why (if you consider the MWTTP canon) in that novella did she explicitly state she was shocked and appalled to learn that he had died when she met him in the Lifestream? She says she thought he had 'moved on and was living somewhere peacefully'. It's clear she didn't know he was dead. She obviously had a feeling that someone she knew was hurt or in pain, but she didn't know it was him.
CC still has to tie in to the FF7 game tho. They can't have a big contradiction like that with no explanation. In the game she told Elmyra that SOMEONE who was close to her died but she didn't know who or she would've told Elmyra "your husband has died." In CC for Zack's death scene she knows SOMEONE close to her is hurt/dying, I just don't think she knew exactly whom. She could've been in denial that it was Zack b/c who wants to think their boyfriend is dead? Easier to believe the alternative.
And we have to mention again that this novella was written before crisis core and in crisis core things are really different between those two (ZackxAerith) comparing to the game^^

guys. "Maiden Who Travels the Planet" is a non-canon story. Even though they supervised it, Square-enix said themselves that it's not. the reason is that they should not choose ONE couple over the other, it would only decrease the amount of fans if they did.

Au contraire, baby, "Maiden Who Travels the Planet is quite canon. ;D It's no secret that the ORIGINAL CREATORS, Kazushige Nojima and Tetsuya Nomura, commissioned Benny Matsuyama to write the story, and MWTTP was published in FFVII: Ultimania Omega alongside a metric assload of other canon information. So technically we do have the liberty to say that when Aerith flat-out stated that she preferred Cloud over Zack, it should have been canon enough for all of us.

not true, aeris was not really in love with zack, and she still love cloud even after dead, she say it clearly in "The Maiden who travel the planet" book, an Aerith's journey in lifestream where she meet lot of dead people.... Zack too.

As much as y'all are hating on this comment, it's actually very valid. It seems like nobody wants to take into account not only MWTTP, but also the latest publication in the FFVII Compilation: the Crisis Core Ultimania. Allow me to quote the game's lovely and talented director, Tetsuya Nomura:

Later, our ol' pal Nojima expands upon this by stating that the feelings between them are purely "platonic", and consistently remain that way. So as much as Zack might tease Aerith, the creators have made it pretty clear that neither of them takes any romantic potential between them too seriously. I think it's actually pretty cute that way. ^_^
Well that's a contradiction if ever I read one. Zack only heads for Midgar (the Shin-Ra base no less) after escaping the lab to see Aerith, knowing the entire Shin-Ra army, the Turks and a multitude of other dangers stand between him and her, just b/c they're "friends"? And what about his scream about her not writing anymore letters? "Aerith...wait for me." That sounds like a lover's plea...not a friend's. Does Nomura reconcile those inconsistencies?
You make a valid point- I believe Nomura was referring to the time when they were actually together as a couple. I think the creators make it pretty obvious that Zack's feelings change after five years without seeing her, but we never get to see him (or Aerith) act that way when they're together. So when Zack never responded to her letters, I think any chances that Aerith might feel the same way in the future went out the window. Too bad she didn't know what really happened to him. ;_;
He yells "Four years?!" after reading her last letter & it's apparent he doesn't realize it's been that long. Like a coma patient, he probably thinks the whole event w/Sephiroth happened just recently, and he's floored when he discovers it's been four years. That suggests he had those feelings for her already - prior to becoming a lab rat. Agree w/your point about Aerith tho - she'd rather believe he's moved on than think he's dead.

XD Still, I do think it would make sense that when Zack found out Aerith was sending her last letter, he might have woken up and smelled the coffee- and maybe realized that he wanted to be more than her all-too-friendly-boyfriend. (He's not the type who figures things out gradually or subtly before they're thrown in his face all at once. XD) But that's what makes their relationship tragic- he didn't fall for her until she had moved on and he was about to die.
The way Zack acts when he refers to Aeris seems to be more of a lover's care than a friend's care! Unfortunately Zack was usually busy with his job as a soldier and they couldn't spent much time 2gether! But they were 2gether for 2 years and also Zack was ready to quit everything just to be with her!^^

You just hit the nail on the head, honey- they really couldn't spend much time together, and therefore didn't quite develop their feelings for each other (a crush at best) into the twu undying wuv everybody seems to think they had. And, whoa there horsie, when did Zack ever imply that he was willing to quit avenging the death of his best friend to spend all his time with a girlfriend he only saw in passing? That doesn't sound like Zack to me. O_o

No biggie- everybody makes mistakes. :D I do think you're absolutely right that Zack always cared about Aerith and vice versa, but the point is that the compilation has never implied that Zack and Aerith's relationship can hold a candle to Cloud and Aerith's. As much as Zack may have wanted to see her as he made his way to Midgar, she had moved on a year earlier, and he came to terms with letting her live her own life- he even says to Cloud himself, "If you meet Aerith, take care of her." :)

well, it's generally accepted that Zack x Aerith is canon. And for 'Clerith' fans, it's canon of the past (and present for those who still support 'Zerith' in Advent Children).
I think s-e should just stop bickering among themselves too (they also have disagreements on which should be canon) and just put Clerith as canon, since the original idea was Clerith anyway. I mean even though it becomes canon, there will still be fans of alternate pairings, like how there's fans of Tidus x Rikku

yeah, but that's if maiden that travels the world is considered canon. that novella contradicts a lot of stuff that happened in ff7. for example, Aerith using the entire Lifestream in Maiden, when the 10th Anniversary UOG claims she only used a portion, the age that Aerith met Zack (Maiden says 17; common sense and everything else says 15. Crisis Core takes place 7 years before the main game). Maiden novella wasn't even acknowledged in the 10th anniversary ultimania or the crisis core one.
I certainly don't think they have an 'undying wuv' for e/other but I thinks it's clear that it's more than just friendship they share. Same can be said for Clerith and Clifa too tho Cloud himself never shows much emotion toward either.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think friendship was all they had (they were dating, after all :D). However, I do think that this is where the phrase "open-to-interpretation" comes into play, applying indirectly to your (classy, might I say :D) reference to Clerith and Clifa. You could say that these three initially friendly relationships (thanks to Nomura) grew into something more romantic, or you could say that they were all perfectly happy just being together. It's all up to the player. ^_^

Pls hold off on the 'everybody' statements. Zack/Aerith seeing each other for little bits of time FOR 2 YEARS is much longer than the time Cloud/Aerith spent together in the game. Yet she doesn't have "time to develop feelings for him [Zack]" & she does w/Cloud? And the joke of it is that it[cont'd]
[cont'd] wasn't even the REAL Cloud (it was a Seph clone merged w/Tifa's memories of Cloud that has assumed Zack's identity) that she supposedly fell in love with. The REAL Cloud doesn't emerge until after Aerith dies and Tifa helps him regain his memory/personality/ego after falling into the Lifestream again in Mideel. So Aerith never even meets the real Cloud, just a puppet of Sephiroth w/some of Cloud's memories and Zack's identity.

I've read MWTTP (which has never been labeled "official" by SE, ppl just keep saying it is b/c it's included in the UOG) and explain to me how Aerith knew the real Cloud when she died BEFORE he regained HIS memory and HIS personality? In the "official" (your fave word) UOG and the AC Reunion Files Nomura clearly states that Cloud is a Sephiroth clone (w/Tifa's memories of Cloud merged w/Zack's ID) being controlled by Seph until he recovers later in the game. I'd like to hear this...

"The other two referring to Tifa/Denzel" were written by Kazushige Nojima (ORIGINAL story writer for the FF7 game/AC/CC). Matsuyama wrote MWTTP - he is NOT. Nojima/Nomura/Kitase created these characters from scratch & developed the story. Matsuyama was 'authorized' to do the novella, but he obviously didn't know what Nojima was going to do w/the Aerith/Zack relationship in CC. Why would he? Nojima prob didn't either until he wrote CC and CC CHANGES EVERYTHING.
Cloud is different after discovering the truth. Let's say you bump your head and lose all your memory. A doctor is able to give you memories of a childhood friend who knew up until age 14 and merge those memories w/the personality/identity of another friend whom you've known the last 7 years. This newly created persona is NOT YOU. Traumatic event occurs and you regain your own memory/personality/identity - you will be different knowing the truth. For the remainder of the game, Cloud (contd)
(contd) stopped pretending to be the cocky, over-confident SOLDIER b/c that person was ZACK and Cloud now knows this. Cloud is the humbled, weak, mean-to-do-well boy now a man who wanted to become a hero. Except for his fighting style, Cloud essentially drops the Zack act. He's a lot more humble than he was at the beginning of the game after knowing the truth b/c discovering the truth changed him. Hell, look what discovering the truth about himself did to Sephiroth's personality!
BTW, MWTTP (that you hold to be so canon) beginning of Chapter 5 supports everything I've said. It right out states that Cloud is a Seph clone w/Tifa's memories of the real boyhood Cloud w/missing parts filled in w/false memories of being in SOLDIER [Zack's ID]. THIS (Seph clone/puppet) is the Cloud that Aerith meets and supposedly falls in love with, then she dies before he regains his own memories and his own personality.
When Cloud falls into the Lifestream the 1st time [contd]
[contd] Aerith (dead & floating in the LS) can't even talk to him. Realizing the truth about him she even questions herself "I felt something was odd about him but was everything really just made up & part of his false character? Cloud wasn't real at all?" When she tries to think of Cloud's individual actions one-by-one, her thoughts awaken...guess who...Zack. Which should be no surprise b/c Cloud mimicked Zack's actions/mannerisms etc. Aerith makes no more statements about loving Cloud.

WTF is the 'final cut' of FF7? You've lost me. There's the game & there's AC. Cloud never states/implies he's in love with ANYONE. Nojima states this was done on purpose. Any notion of CLOUD'S feelings toward any female in the story is the subjective POV of the viewer/player. Aerith states she loved Cloud - fine, I'm saying it was the clone/puppet Cloud she loved b/c she didn't know the real Cloud until after her death and she learned the truth about the real Cloud in the Lifestream.
[she completely rejects Zack in the lifestream]. No she doesn't. She's shocked to discover Zack is dead and blames herself for believing he was safe and living peacefully somewhere all this time. Later Zack jokes that she's the best of all the girls he's known, she jokes back 'someone who's known so many girls could never become a lover'. After Seph's defeat Zack comments that Cloud's finishing move was his and asks "Doesn't it make you fall in love again?" Sounds like they're flirting to me.

What proof do you have that Cloud moved on with Tifa? I would like too see it plz. If you read the DOC booklet it states that Cloud and Tifa remained friends. And let's not forget Barret is in the picture too. So does that mean Barret and Tifa are romantically involved? I think NOT! Aeris is anything but swallow and bitchy but you're entitled to your opinion.
My proof is the "case of Tifa" where you can clearly see that Cloud is the one who suggest that they should move on with their lives and start a new one! He is also trying to encourage Tifa because she's feeling guilty for Aerith's death! Also Barret had to leave, so Cloud Tifa and Marlene stayed 2gether! I would say it is better for FFVII to be remake in PS3. Or this issue will rather be prolonged. The dating sims you get during FFVII had make a few misconnection for zack, aerith and cloud. So, I would say for it to be remake and this time, without the dating sims. Then, our little issue here will be solved.

The music for their first date is interesting, it's very dark, and somber. It's almost like a foreshadowing of their fate as lovers. I think its cute how he always tries to downplay the seriousness of his work situation in front of Aerith. You can see him cringe whenever the phone rings when he's with her. They're so cute together :D

Actually, both are right. Crisis Core say it's Aerith, but in the original game it was Aeris. Also, I believe Square has already said both are really fine.

Square attributed the "S" spelling in the initial US release to a translation error, which they've corrected in the PC version of the game and now, have again corrected with the release of Crisis Core.

I think everyone's missing the point: the OP asked "is her name aerith or aeris". He/She didn't ask about how the name is PRONOUNCED - we're talking about SPELLING here. The correct spelling is AERITH. In Japanese the "TH" would still sound like "S" regardless if it were spelled Aerith/Aeris. Translators for the NA release mistakenly spelled it AeriS based on its pronunciation - an error which was fixed in later versions of the original game and CC.

yea lol its one of those translation errors english speakers like me wouldnt notice. Its kind of like how in Japanese the "l" and "r" sounds are combined and therefore pretty ambiguous to english speakers. I myself preffer calling her Aeris though, the name just stuck with me.

Technically Zack is the reason she so easily moved on to Cloud. Cloud Had part of Zack's memories and he had is own. 'Sides Cloud is awesome--and it was a 1998 game. If the remake for the ps3 is actually made (everybody start praying now) I'm sure you'd feel diferently.

Agree w/Spyk and also b/c Aerith really thought Zack had 'moved on' with his life and that was the reason she hadn't seen or heard from him in five years. She really didn't know he was dead. I think if she'd known he was killed (and killed trying to see her), she would've been completely distraught in the FF7 game. So, I'm glad she didn't know he was dead or her upbeat, positive character wouldn't have existed in the FF7 game...

To Joverrated, no she never found out what happened to Zack until she died and met him in the Lifestream herself. It was only then that she learned he was dead.

To eleanore, I agree she would've been able to recover in time, just not necessarily by the time she met Cloud. And THAT definitely would've affected her feelings toward Cloud (given his assumption of Zack's identity). "You're exactly like my dead boyfriend Zack...I'm in love with you." That scenario seems much less likely within the context of her knowing Zack is dead.

My personal interpretation of the final video was that Aerith felt Zack return to the planet but it is generally not in her nature to be dysthimic so naturally she ran along, business of usual until a new, just as good, person showed up.
I may be full of balogna (and a little chicken) but that's how I take it. She still has Zack in her heart it's just she found someone just as super-special-awsome...so to speak

Why does she act so surprised to know that he hadn't contacted his parents in over 10 years in the game? Why (if you consider the MWTTP canon) in that novella did she explicitly state she was shocked and appalled to learn that he had died when she met him in the Lifestream? She says she thought he had 'moved on and was living somewhere peacefully'. It's clear she didn't know he was dead. She obviously had a feeling that someone she knew was hurt or in pain, but she didn't know it was him.

CC still has to tie in to the FF7 game tho. They can't have a big contradiction like that with no explanation. In the game she told Elmyra that SOMEONE who was close to her died but she didn't know who or she would've told Elmyra "your husband has died." In CC for Zack's death scene she knows SOMEONE close to her is hurt/dying, I just don't think she knew exactly whom. She could've been in denial that it was Zack b/c who wants to think their boyfriend is dead? Easier to believe the alternative.

Since the novella was written according to the ff7 game we didn't know much about ZackxAeris relationship only from what Aerith said to Cloud and I think that the guy who wrote it *who wasn't even from the originals ff7 scenario writters* didn't want to emphasize Zack that much!

What legitimate Special Forces Corps can you join and become a TOP ranking person in at age 17? NONE. Obviously in FF maturity and age do not compare to maturity and age in our world. Au contraire, baby, "Maiden Who Travels the Planet is quite canon. ;D It's no secret that the ORIGINAL CREATORS, Kazushige Nojima and Tetsuya Nomura, commissioned Benny Matsuyama to write the story, and MWTTP was published in FFVII: Ultimania Omega alongside a metric assload of other canon information. So technically we do have the liberty to say that when Aerith flat-out stated that she preferred Cloud over Zack, it should have been canon enough for all of us.

As much as y'all are hating on this comment, it's actually very valid. It seems like nobody wants to take into account not only MWTTP, but also the latest publication in the FFVII Compilation: the Crisis Core Ultimania. Allow me to quote the game's lovely and talented director, Tetsuya Nomura:

Later, our ol' pal Nojima expands upon this by stating that the feelings between them are purely "platonic", and consistently remain that way. So as much as Zack might tease Aerith, the creators have made it pretty clear that neither of them takes any romantic potential between them too seriously. I think it's actually pretty cute that way. ^_^

Well that's a contradiction if ever I read one. Zack only heads for Midgar (the Shin-Ra base no less) after escaping the lab to see Aerith, knowing the entire Shin-Ra army, the Turks and a multitude of other dangers stand between him and her, just b/c they're "friends"? And what about his scream about her not writing anymore letters? "Aerith...wait for me." That sounds like a lover's plea...not a friend's. Does Nomura reconcile those inconsistencies?

You make a valid point- I believe Nomura was referring to the time when they were actually together as a couple. I think the creators make it pretty obvious that Zack's feelings change after five years without seeing her, but we never get to see him (or Aerith) act that way when they're together. So when Zack never responded to her letters, I think any chances that Aerith might feel the same way in the future went out the window. Too bad she didn't know what really happened to him. ;_;

Like a coma patient, he probably thinks the whole event w/Sephiroth happened just recently, and he's floored when he discovers it's been four years. That suggests he had those feelings for her already - prior to becoming a lab rat. Agree w/your point about Aerith tho - she'd rather believe he's moved on than think he's dead.

XD Still, I do think it would make sense that when Zack found out Aerith was sending her last letter, he might have woken up and smelled the coffee- and maybe realized that he wanted to be more than her all-too-friendly-boyfriend. (He's not the type who figures things out gradually or subtly before they're thrown in his face all at once. XD) But that's what makes their relationship tragic- he didn't fall for her until she had moved on and he was about to die.

You just hit the nail on the head, honey- they really couldn't spend much time together, and therefore didn't quite develop their feelings for each other (a crush at best) into the twu undying wuv everybody seems to think they had. No biggie- everybody makes mistakes. :D I do think you're absolutely right that Zack always cared about Aerith and vice versa, but the point is that the compilation has never implied that Zack and Aerith's relationship can hold a candle to Cloud and Aerith's. As much as Zack may have wanted to see her as he made his way to Midgar, she had moved on a year earlier, and he came to terms with letting her live her own life- he even says to Cloud himself, "If you meet Aerith, take care of her." :)

well, it's generally accepted that Zack x Aerith is canon. And for 'Clerith' fans, it's canon of the past (and present for those who still support 'Zerith' in Advent Children).
I think s-e should just stop bickering among themselves too (they also have disagreements on which should be canon) and just put Clerith as canon, since the original idea was Clerith anyway. I mean even though it becomes canon, there will still be fans of alternate pairings, like how there's fans of Tidus x Rikku

yeah, but that's if maiden that travels the world is considered canon. that novella contradicts a lot of stuff that happened in ff7. for example, Aerith using the entire Lifestream in Maiden, when the 10th Anniversary UOG claims she only used a portion, the age that Aerith met Zack (Maiden says 17; common sense and everything else says 15. Crisis Core takes place 7 years before the main game). Maiden novella wasn't even acknowledged in the 10th anniversary ultimania or the crisis core one.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think friendship was all they had (they were dating, after all :D). However, I do think that this is where the phrase "open-to-interpretation" comes into play, applying indirectly to your (classy, might I say :D) reference to Clerith and Clifa. You could say that these three initially friendly relationships (thanks to Nomura) grew into something more romantic, or you could say that they were all perfectly happy just being together. It's all up to the player. ^_^

[cont'd] wasn't even the REAL Cloud (it was a Seph clone merged w/Tifa's memories of Cloud that has assumed Zack's identity) that she supposedly fell in love with. The REAL Cloud doesn't emerge until after Aerith dies and Tifa helps him regain his memory/personality/ego after falling into the Lifestream again in Mideel. So Aerith never even meets the real Cloud, just a puppet of Sephiroth w/some of Cloud's memories and Zack's identity.

That's absolutely wrong if you read the official novella "Maiden who travelled the Planet".Aeris loved the real Cloud much more than Zack and she completely rejects Zack in the lifestream.

I've read MWTTP (which has never been labeled "official" by SE, ppl just keep saying it is b/c it's included in the UOG) and explain to me how Aerith knew the real Cloud when she died BEFORE he regained HIS memory and HIS personality? In the "official" (your fave word) UOG and the AC Reunion Files Nomura clearly states that Cloud is a Sephiroth clone (w/Tifa's memories of Cloud merged w/Zack's ID) being controlled by Seph until he recovers later in the game. I'd like to hear this...

About "my favourite word official" you should tell me when did SE said that MWTTP is not official.And not only this novella but also the other two referring to Tifa and Denzel.And I don't think Cloud got any diferrent after he regained his memories and personality.Tell me what is the difference you see.

"The other two referring to Tifa/Denzel" were written by Kazushige Nojima (ORIGINAL story writer for the FF7 game/AC/CC). Matsuyama wrote MWTTP - he is NOT. Nojima/Nomura/Kitase created these characters from scratch & developed the story. Matsuyama was 'authorized' to do the novella, but he obviously didn't know what Nojima was going to do w/the Aerith/Zack relationship in CC. Why would he? Nojima prob didn't either until he wrote CC and CC CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Cloud is different after discovering the truth. Let's say you bump your head and lose all your memory. A doctor is able to give you memories of a childhood friend who knew up until age 14 and merge those memories w/the personality/identity of another friend whom you've known the last 7 years. This newly created persona is NOT YOU. Traumatic event occurs and you regain your own memory/personality/identity - you will be different knowing the truth. (contd) stopped pretending to be the cocky, over-confident SOLDIER b/c that person was ZACK and Cloud now knows this. Cloud is the humbled, weak, mean-to-do-well boy now a man who wanted to become a hero. Except for his fighting style, Cloud essentially drops the Zack act. He's a lot more humble than he was at the beginning of the game after knowing the truth b/c discovering the truth changed him. Hell, look what discovering the truth about himself did to Sephiroth's personality!

BTW, MWTTP (that you hold to be so canon) beginning of Chapter 5 supports everything I've said. It right out states that Cloud is a Seph clone w/Tifa's memories of the real boyhood Cloud w/missing parts filled in w/false memories of being in SOLDIER [Zack's ID]. THIS (Seph clone/puppet) is the Cloud that Aerith meets and supposedly falls in love with, then she dies before he regains his own memories and his own personality.

[contd] Aerith (dead & floating in the LS) can't even talk to him. Realizing the truth about him she even questions herself "I felt something was odd about him but was everything really just made up & part of his false character? Cloud wasn't real at all?" When she tries to think of Cloud's individual actions one-by-one, her thoughts awaken...guess who...Zack. Which should be no surprise b/c Cloud mimicked Zack's actions/mannerisms etc. Aerith makes no more statements about loving Cloud.

Okay now you want me to bring you lines of the novella here???.Yeah she said she felt something odd and she also told Cloud in the date that he reminds her of Zack,not his personality but his appearance and gestures and etc.BUT she also said in MWTTP that she knew there was a real Cloud,the same she fall in love with before she died AND let me remind you she rejects Zack twice in the Lifestream!And what did u w8?the whole novella to be talking about Aerith's feelings for Cloud???they're obvious!

Why don't you take a look in the final cut of FF7?if Aeris didn't love Cloud she wouldn't reach out her hand for him.And Cloud has regained himself i don't think he would stil be in love with her too.Biu guess what?Cloud reaches out his hand too and desperately tries to touch her.And if that's not enough for you then watch AC again and understand that if Aeris didn't love Cloud she wouldn't keep appearing to him and helping him.Just listen to her words and u will PROBABLY understand.

WTF is the 'final cut' of FF7? You've lost me. There's the game & there's AC. Cloud never states/implies he's in love with ANYONE. Nojima states this was done on purpose. Any notion of CLOUD'S feelings toward any female in the story is the subjective POV of the viewer/player. Aerith states she loved Cloud - fine, I'm saying it was the clone/puppet Cloud she loved b/c she didn't know the real Cloud until after her death and she learned the truth about the real Cloud in the Lifestream.

[she completely rejects Zack in the lifestream]. No she doesn't. She's shocked to discover Zack is dead and blames herself for believing he was safe and living peacefully somewhere all this time. Later Zack jokes that she's the best of all the girls he's known, she jokes back 'someone who's known so many girls could never become a lover'. After Seph's defeat Zack comments that Cloud's finishing move was his and asks "Doesn't it make you fall in love again?" Sounds like they're flirting to me.

Yeah she said that, and that was the reason I hated Aeris and Cleris!Aeris acted too swallow and bitchy for her character! Also in AC Zack and Aeris where together! I guess Aeris got really lonely after watching Cloud moving on his life with Tifa! XD

Oh you forgot to mention when Cloud died Aerith and Zack were standing there*with Cloud unconcious* and joking 2GETHER! Also Cloud was living a great life with Tifa Marleen and Barret in "A way to a smile" novella till he started the delivery guy job and started remembering the past cause of the delivering to Elmyra's house! After that he became even more emo and moved to Aerith's church that made his situation even worse!

What proof do you have that Cloud moved on with Tifa? I would like too see it plz. If you read the DOC booklet it states that Cloud and Tifa remained friends. And let's not forget Barret is in the picture too. So does that mean Barret and Tifa are romantically involved? I think NOT! Aeris is anything but swallow and bitchy but you're entitled to your opinion.

My proof is the "case of Tifa" where you can clearly see that Cloud is the one who suggest that they should move on with their lives and start a new one! He is also trying to encourage Tifa because she's feeling guilty for Aerith's death! Also Barret had to leave, so Cloud Tifa and Marlene stayed 2gether! And about what I said about Aerith's char. was based on her novella, and of course it's just my opinion! Never said "Aerith is a bitch cause I said so"
