The 12ft is a kit, take much longer to built, and also it will require a much bigger motor, speed controler and batteries, thoses are still expensive. You would have to spend twice the price in electronics for a 12ft than for the 8ft (only the receiver will cost the same) you will alon need bigger servos.
Well, it does cost more to make an electric telemaster than a glow one, but you get your money back after a while, the glow gas is getting very expensive ($25/gallon).
The price for motor, esc and batterries is lowering every day.
And also, the electric power put less stress on the airplane.
Nice job. Just lose the engine brake. Let the prop free-wheel. You won't have that blasted ding of the brake setting, and it will sound much better. I have two Seniors. One Electric and one with a four-stroke OS72. I am currently making a UAV out of the Electric Senior and mounting a 5 gig camera to do some aerial video. The Telemaster is a very stable platform, so use your creativity.
Nice, what main landing gear did you use? This looks much better than the landing gear that's included with the telemaster kit/arf.

What a waste of time, too bad it wasn't a nitro powered model. Electrics take away from the charm.

Dude that's an awesome plane. It dominates the sky with a smooth blazing yellow presence. Its so square, its such a plank, but its so loveable!

One last question for you...
What kind of flight times are you getting? I'm having a hard time picking out a motor.
tulz43 4 years ago
towing a 4m about 7-8 tows. About 30min. if I just cruise around
IFlyTailies 4 years ago
What motor and battery setup are you using? How large of a glider do you think you could tow?
tulz43 4 years ago
E-Flite 160 on two 5S-5000 lipos in series. I have been towing up to 10.5 lbs so far, I guess 14lbs would be max.

Very nice. Any idea how it compares to the AXI 4120/18?
tulz43 4 years ago
My motor has 245Kv, the Axi 515Kv. The Axi will only be able to tow smaller gliders
IFlyTailies 4 years ago
I will be using it as a tow plane, therefore, I had to put in a big motor...

I've got a nitro powered Telemaster (magnum 80 4 stroke) but I'm impressed with the electric motor on your's
