I have no words to express my feelings... This kind of Greek folk music is very difficuld to be performed, even from a Greek. And you make us feel the music in our souls.... Congratulations....
Can I ask you something? How did you learn to play this epirotic way of playing the violin? By listening or did anyone teach you? I don't suppose there are notes for this style..? I also play the violin and I've got family in Epirus, they would be too glad if I surprised them the next summer by playing (at least a little bit) like this.
Intoxicating ... I am so jealous I can not speak Music language but I know only memories and pain can bring out the best of any human. I am thankful for sharing. Tonight I wrote a Persian poem with your music :) I dedicated the poem to " the stranger's music" :) getting published this weekend :)
hello my friend .... I am a musician from Greece ..... attribute the emotion needed to play this music .... it is very difficult even for Greek musicians today play with such passion the traditional music of Greece and especially epirous.
Awesome stuff! i wish I could get you down to Richmond, VA, sometime and have you perform with my Turko-Balkan ensemble! And, yeah, I totally agree with the overall consensus here ... You should record this!
PLEASE allow dancers to buy and use your art, it would be a crime not to! Pleasepleasepleaseprettypleasewithsugarontop!
This is SO good, the world needs this kind of beauty so bad - thank you so ever much for sharing - and I (WE!) would be very grateful to hear more from you in the future!
This was incredible. Please, please make it available for dancers. If you dont, hordes of bellydancers will--maybe I shouldnt finish that. But its lovely, and I'd dearly love to see it available.
I actually dreamed of this music last night. I think a lot of other dancers on Facebook might have dreamed it as well. Johnathan, you're the Neil Gaiman of the violin. "confectioner of dreams" is exactly right.
There are no words to express what I'm feeling right now, having watched this video. Only deep, abiding thanks. You are a confectioner of dreams, Jonathan. I hope you know that.

Dude a few words from a Greek...
You are a Greek because your soul says it...
You cant call someone Greek only because of the blood that runs in his vains but mainly from the soul...
You,through your viola, seem like u can understand the grief of the Greek(and especialy the Epirotan)people who have suffered many wars and slauters...
Thanks from the deeps of my soul...
