  • another man with talent!

  • Great singers, but the music wouldn't be a thing without the Funk Brothers. Especially bassist James Jamerson and drummer Benny Benjamin. : )

  • @TwistedSpeech

Glad to see that someone else is showing some love and respect for the FUNK BROTHERS!!!...Can't fully enjoy the music without noting the MUSICIANS...

  • @drumsticksNnunchakus Very true. I think someone needs to go and re-release all the albums they ever played on and include their names so at least their families can reap some of the royalties the actual musicians never got to have.

  • paul was always so intense when performing i enjoyed his voice and interpertaion of the songs he sang thank you paul

  • people should check out my cover of this song! :D

  • My favorite voice in the temptations was either Eddie, Paul or David or was it Melvin, I loved them all including Otis with that bridge harmonizing voice . If we came up with another male quintet like the Temptations they would own the music world,

  • I can't understand for the life of me why this song was not successful; it's amazing!!!!!

  • Man Ill tell you, I used to think David was my favorite voice out of the Tempts, but I think Im switching to Paul.

  • paul was a very talented man..its too bad drinking got the best of him. just because drinking is legal dont make it ok its just as poisonous as any drug. they are easy to start but hard to quit. you might think you have a handlel on it, but before you know it it has a handle on YOU....

  • @tryby12 he had sickle cell also it was more of the sickle cell getting to him than alcohol

  • i can,t believe there all gone except for otis but its not the same

  • This song is so simple, i love it!

R.I.P Paul , David, Melvin, and Eddie

Otis and Dennis, keep rockin it!

  • Paul sang his ass off in this song, awsome.

  • sayyyy dat!!!!

  • This is the first Tempts song I remember from my childhood. The message is as strong as it was then. Sweet soul music, baby. Paul was fabulous but troubled and died way too soon. Ain't nobody like the Tempting Temptations...no replacement necessary. They're so bad (as in good) they named a dance after them. Raise your hand if you know how to do the Temptation Walk. un ga wa! My people know....Steppin'

  • omg i am 22 and my father got me hooked on this type of music since i was like 6 or 7...i remember hearing this song on the motown 40 special b4 the movie came out, then he bought me the emperors of soul box set...I love the movie but some details are false but i will still watch it everytime i get a chance....I love the Temps.

  • love the temps nd especially pauls voice. melvin(blue) looks like martin lawrence at 2:20 lol

  • no day without

  • i know must otis must hear stuff like this, think back, and cry. he outlived all his members and his best friend melvin. he lost his son, mom, best friend, and group members.

  • No queda ni uno solo de ellos vivo, pero cantaban como angeles

  • those days are long long gone, compared to the BS you hear on the radio, all the true singers are long gone

  • Can you please fix this video so it can be played on iPhone? Thanks.

  • my dad and paul where a year and a day apart. kind of crazy to think

  • Baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby!!! Paul was truly the heart and soul of the Temptations.

  • Paul is, and always will be the heart and soul of the Temptations.

  • the sad story of Paul Williams but hes in heaven with Eddy, David,Blue.

  • Not one of their big hits but a terrific song.

    Thank you.

  • Man I love this song! Paul's voice was soooo amazing!

  • this song was so under rated..Im an 80s baby but I grew up on the Temps. Real soul music. I love it

  • They make me think of seeing my parent and friends having a good time at the house, no drama, just good times!

  • rhorton101954 i do not understand your comment. please rephrase and post

  • I was 7 yrs living in Compton, Ca. when this beautiful song came out. A Mexican boy going to school, listening to KRLA radio, just loving the real R&B "Soul" music. My two young children love the Temptations, Four Tops, Freddie Scott, Fred Townsend. As for the 9 that dislike the song, that is alright. If it does not touch your heart & bring a deep emotions to your heart, well you are missing a beautiful emotion.Listen, close your eyes, feel the words! An American Soldier.Be blessed.

  • Paul, Paul, Paul!!!

  • Everyone has their favorite TEMPT,but besides the best dancer,i feel Paul was the heart and soul of the TEMPTS.You had 5 ultra talented individuals put together to make one masterpiece of a group.TIMELESS

  • @sytojufoclk that Al, he was an original member b4 David came along

  • @sytojufoclk He is not one of the temptations. since I lost my baby that is shorty long different artist.

  • Beautiful video, I saw them live in SF at the Cow Palace in 66. I was n high school then, been a fan since. Saw them again in Sacramento in 2003 all different members of course but still had the flair. Is their one original still performing with the "Temptations" original group...

    Mike

  • @blinko7777 What a night you were so lucky to enjoy. I was 6y/o in 66 but came from a bi-racial family and my uncle had a band that did all this stuff including James Brown's songs. They were good for playing clubs around town and was on a local tv music show. All these songs bring back some wonderful memories for me, I'm sure you know what I mean. My brother worked at the Desert Inn in Vegas-1999 and Otis and 4 others played there. I here their still playing and sound tight as ever.

  • @365degrees I got to see the Four Tops too in SF. Sat right in front in a tiny little bar. Me and Jeff MCcan and two blonds. Loool They sang to our girlfriends all night. Biggest thrill ever. We were the only white people in the crowd. Jeff Mccan gave the guy at the door a 100.00 bill and we went to the front. My friend Jeff was rich at the time, we were only 18. Good Days.

    MIke

  • @blinko7777 Mike you have some great memories. And the saying money talks and B.S. walks, well that $100 proves that right-lol-God Bless you Man.

  • GREAT video!!!!!

  • I just love the picture at 1:12 where Paul Williams is holding Florence Ballard's hand and Mary Wilson is right in front. In the background, Melvin Franklin has his eye on Mary Wilson and David Ruffin appears to be laughing behind his hand. To see David laughing behind his hand makes him seem so young and happy at that moment in time. The "Classic Five" was the BEST of the Temptations.

  • Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby... I .!!!!!!

    13 x baby = Temps magic!

  • another one of my favs~

  • the great Paul Williams?

  • The movie hooked me on it, too. Love this song!

  • @wmccoy2 Same here. I hadn't heard of this great song until the movie. This should've been a MEGA HIT.

  • " I was a BIG Tempt fan !" Miss their music !

  • 8 people dont want a love they can see

  • @MrBigvasquez Love this song! Don'y think it was too big back then!

  • one of my favorites, loved pauls voice

  • @Jacksons595 Love it too!

  • OMG!..0:21..Look at them dudes...styling and profiling!!

  • great song, love it, but melvin was not on it because he was apparently visiting family in alabama, and ruffin had not yet joined the group

  • SANDWICH

  • No one could have lead this better than Paul!!!

  • When u would luv to be shaggin this time of morning, u doing realll good---sho nuff~~Kay Nichols

  • This reminds me of goood times inALGERIA! love this song!

  • one of the best songs i've heard in a while..

  • in 2000,I was 35,dating a 23 year old female, she insisted we rent the biopic movie, cause it was her fave(she grew up in detroit)the next day i BOUGHT the movie and the temptations greatest hits double cd:)

  • Paul is the stuff!!! hahaha

  • @tlover62...I hear you. The original group was the greatest...Ruff, Paul, Eddie,Melvin and Otis. After that it was all down hill. I just saw the"New Temptations" at the Hard Rock, Hollywood last week, featuring Dennis Edwards...What a disaster...I left the show early. They need to stop before they do any more damage to such an illustrious group.

  • Best song ever.

  • I love this song..one of my favs. It is so sexy and sung by one of the sexiest (Paul). When the bass and drum come in at the beginning is so classic.

  • Great video. Now this is real music. I truely believe I was born in the wrong era cause this type of music touches my soul more than anything of my time. Thx so much for this post!!!!

  • this song by far, is what happens when you get it right with the perfect blend of harmonies and paul what can you say he had it all .

  • great song

  • I just can't get over the voice of this guy.......gives me goose bumps . Absolutly amazing. It is really a shame you don't hear very much about him when they talk about MOTOWN greats. He could sing happy birthday or OLD McDONALD and make it a damn near religious experiance

  • I love the tempattions or any other MOTOWnm group for that matter. This is what music was based on and it is what music should go back to.

  • Loving the video!

  • WOW! I FINALLY GET TO HEAR THE WHOLE SONG AND I THINK I CAN'T BREATH! BEAUTIFUL. " UP IN HEAVEN , THANK YOU! "

  • I love the lyrics more than anything!!!! But of course Paul's voice COMPLETELY sets it off!! R.I.P. TO HIM AN THE OTHERS!

  • I love these clips, Oh my Gosh!!!! Paul was the man... Tempting Temptations

  • Such an infectiously happy song! Sung by THE most under-appreciated masters of soul singing ever...

  • I totally agree. They should b recognized forever. The singers of today could take a page out of there book.

  • The best group ever,Temptations forever!

  • PAUL, PAUL, PAUL!!!! That's all I can say. In a way, they did him injustice in the movie.

  • @nutothis1 how so?

  • @Clearity09 Hi Clearity09. I say this because, when I read Otis Williams' book, it seems that there were contrasts regarding the Paul described in the book, and the portrait of him in the movie - e.g, in the movie, Paul was seen as craving adulation, as opposed to Al Bryant. In the book, Otis Williams described Paul as the opposite. Also, Paul did not crave 2 remain in the group. As he got sicker, he encouraged them to go on w/o him. The movie was good, though.

  • AWESOME TRIBUTE! Paul was one of the ORIGINAL voices of The Temptations and this video did him proud.

  • action speks louder than wordz

  • this is a good song i like it

  • i wanna love i can, see!! and feel and if not i really , can do!WITH-OUT FOREAL THOU~~~`cause babythats all that matter to me ,yeah yeah actions speaks !!lounder than words and the, kisses that make me wanna melt!!!~~~~foreal thou! thats the only, kind that means tooo! to me

  • i love this song :)

  • do u think maybe that's wat started his drinkN, he wanted 2lead more?

  • pauls my favorite temptation i dont know why if its cause of how they portrayed him in the movie or just cause his spirit is easily felt through his voice in every song he lead the temps in gotta love it !!!!!!!!! TEMPTATIONS FOR EVER !

  • Oh soo good. Thank you for the posting. Love it!!

  • Music like this these days is a rarity

  • paul is stillmy favorite

  • paul was the heart and soul of the temps and he was missed thru the rough years 74-79

  • Paul we miss you soooooo much. RIP

  • When I listen to this great music I wish I we could go back in time musically....

  • Love and Miss you Paul................R.I.P.

    Temptations, forever! <3

  • Im sorry but the Temptations by far where one of the greatest groups around!

  • i ode love the temptations...the temptations and the 5 heartbeats are my favorite groups

  • @KiKi92515

The Five Heartbeats weren't a real group.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT THE MUSIC THE BEAT

PAULEVERY THING I'M SUCH A FANHE'S SINGING THIS SONG I LOVE ALL THE GODBESS THEM RIP GOD IS KEEPING OTIS WILLIAMS HERE FOR A REASON

TO KEEP THE LEGENDS ALIVE HE HAD TO LET THE TRUE STORY BE KNOWN

    PRAY FOR HIM

  • This is great, the reggae version is fantastic too. Thanks for sharing this.

  • I love this song. I never tire of hearing it.

  • Im 13 and i think this is better than any other music in the 21st century. i was born in the wrong generation.

  • action speaks loder than words love this song

  • What a voive

  • i love this song

  • they are all dead except Otis, he's the only original Temptation left

  • "The Temptations" the movie revealed how great there struggles were before gainin the success they should've had from the beginnin... I can't believe this one wasn't a hit... what more could people ask for from these legends??? RIP Paul Williams.

  • This is one song I can never get tired of......thanks for posting

  • nice song

  • David Ruffin was not on this song , correct !

  • @optimistaurus I am far from a 'chin stroker'' but, there may be some confusion over this because it was issued as a 'B' side in England (TMG 633b) with the 'A' side belng '(Loneliness Made Me Realise) It's You That I Need (TMG 633a) sung by David Ruffin. I know because I bought it in 1967.

P.S. David Ruffin had the voice of an angel anything he sang was pure magic, what a loss. Del. @ Oxford Soul Club.

  • @daddydelboy Hey daddyboy thats The Great Paul Williams Leading that song, not David Ruffin. David wasnt in the group then. And the song was a hit in Detroit. About 1963. Thanks!

  • Otis Williams always managed to get good replacements to carry on the legacy of the Temptations. However, those replacements will never recapture the MAGIC that the original--Paul, David, Eddie and Melvin had. Along with Otis, THOSE WERE THE TEMPTATIONS.

  • @tlover1062 iagree! the greatest line up, and YOU can`t replace the magic these guys created! a little bit like the drifters era with ben. e king on lead.

  • i <3 this song!

  • I LOVE this song!!!

  • top five song all time

  • i don't wanna be going by something i heard

  • Sinbad just need to say let's go dance!! yeah yeah

  • bad ass song

  • wow these guys deserve much more they should be remembred by kids today

  • The TV Movie was almost all fiction.

They had already sung background sessions for Gordy when he and his first wife were stating out on Calvert Ave in Detroit in an apartment. He knew them and they were not Bobby-soxer, wide eyed teens looking up to Gordy like some big shot. He was just stating out then too.

But that talent show church was real: ST, STEPHENS CHURCH, on the near northwest side. That was a major talent source for a decade.

  • i knew there was a lot of fiction in it (and stuff that was left out) , but where'd you get all that info? i'm just wondering cuz i've always been a pretty big fan of the temptations

    [=

  • Read Otis Williams book "The Temptations". It 's a good read and much more accurate than the movie. You can purchase the book from Amazon.
