This song is fantastic. Best song a great album. Interesting how you never hear this album mentioned among lists of best hard rock/metal albums. What a crime.
I agree with him. This is Deffinittly his most under rated album. me personaly i would rather hear Hey Stoopid and Trash all the way thru. instead of Schools out. even though i also love his earlier stuff to. or raise your fist an yell.
Mickey Curry was the drummer, not guitarist. The listings don't credit this particular solo as far as I can fine, but it is so obviously Joe Satriani to anyone who knows his work. The guitar sound and the actual ending few notes are right off 'Surfing with the Alien' and he played on five of the tracks with credits, and I recall reading an interview at the time the album was released where he reportedly played on several more.
this album is a true masterpiece 91 COOPER ALICE is a legend i saw him in 03 at the becan,,thether in new york halloween show,, listen to this ,, sabashon bach twisted sister n alice closed man so awesome, keep rockin ALICE,, WE LOVE U ,
@SnOrKaLBoY1996 I always listen to this when I transform into a werewolf. It's hard to keep hold of an i-pod while I'm chasing peasants (I don't have any pockets!) but it's worth it just for the atmosphere.
His voice is higher pitched when you listen to him on the computer. He has some nice "elvis" style bass tones to his voice that don't come across here.
I thought that Hey Stoopid was seriously underrated. It didn't do as good as Trash only because it was heavier. This is my favourite track and Alice had a real talent diving into the mind and soul of the disturbed and making all understand how painful it is.
Seriously, is there even a single poor song on the "Hey Stoopid" album? It seems to me as if every single tune utterly and completely kicks ass.. you seldom get those albums without any fillers.
You're right - EVERY track on this album sounds as good today as it did 20 odd years ago. Amazing to hear an album so perfect from a man who'd already been in music since the early 1970s
@theossy You got that right. I was thinking the same thing about this one recently and listening to it a lot lately. The whole album kicks ass. It's actually surprising how good this album is all the way through. Trash is my favorite for sentimental reasons and the big songs I like off that one are definitely more memorable but I'd probably be the first to admit, this is the better album and actually Alice's best IMO.
Got this album on casette with a sony walkman for christmas when I was 13. The walkman is long gone, the casette actually wore out, and I have it now on CD . One of his best IMO
"Vengeance" with Slash jams the hardest. Listen to it. It's on the "Along came a Spider" album. While your at it listen to "Bed of Nails" and "Spark in the Dark" both on the "Trash" album. One more on the "Brutal Planet" album "It's The Little Things" I think you'll enjoy that one.
don't forget this house is haunted and roses on white lace ... aww man those are good ... but must of his songs are overlooked to me ... except school's out and poison ughhhh i can't stand em now
That's because that's the most noticeable songs people heard rather it be on the radio or on TV. I agree his songs are overlooked and some of them are awesome.

I'm an Alice Cooper fan since i was a little kid, when i was 7 my dad brought me an Alice poster showing him with a whip from the US (I'm german) that i pinned on my wall so the friends of my little sister got scared. I saw him 3 times since then in Germany, i hope he never stops touring :)
Btw, does anyone know if this song has been used in a horror movie before? I'm a director and would love to use it, but only if it's not derivative. Same goes for Alice's other songs. Can a hardcore film fan AND Alice fan answer me this: which Alice songs have been in films, and which have not?
This is a list Alice Cooper songs that have been used in a horror film or a thriller: "I Am the Future", "Identity Crisis", "See Me In The Mirror", "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)", "Teenage Frankenstein", "Hard Rock Summer", "Prince of Darkness", "Poison", "School's Out", I'm Eighteen", "Cold Machines", "Only Women Bleed", "Shockdance".
My girlfriend got me started on Alice! At first I wasn't sure if I'd really like his hard rock style...I mean my favorite kind of music is opera! LOL! But then I heard THIS song...and I was blown away! I'm obsessed with the dark side of human nature, and thus love to analyze and portray villainous characters in fiction, and this song TOTALLY fit so many of my favorites like Lex Luthor, The Joker, Hannibal Lector, etc. So I instantly started hearing his stuff from here. Excellent song!
I was panicking then because I couldn't hear anything! then I realised my dad had unplugged the speakers! I nearly died! No Music! :O, Glad i realised quite quick or i'd be on the floor. Death by Lack of Alice :S
i nearly had a fit myself when i played my Trashes The World dvd & it had no sound. then i realized my computer speakers were unplugged. LOL i thought i'd hv to go thru the night without my Alice fix. i'm like a druggie XD
lol, Glad im not the only one xD. I dont go always take my ipod 2 school. I refuse go without it! I have an Alice Cooper playlist on it which it tells me is 109 songs long. Put it on shuffle n repeat all n im on my way. I must have it with me at all times. Might have a sudden emergency and need my Alice fix xD.
Can't belive i didn't know this great singer till this year. That was pure luck, my friend took all of my Priest and Maiden discs, so i look for something good in my dad's collection.
And found this, and Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Started to respect him lot more.

Me too, Poison was the first Alice song I ever heard :) And when I bought the CD i realized that all the other songs on it was brilliant too! But if I had't bought that CD I had maybe never heard all of the other songs :O :P This one is AWESOME!!
