yes, the original is so much better than the re-make, and yes celebrityMontages, the new one's pace is far to fast, you feel as if loads of stuff has been left out and the build up to stories the way the roiginal did.

This is an old comment, but what the heck.

I almost quit watching the new one because I thought the pace was too slow. Just try and compare how long it took in the old V for them to realise they are lizards, to fully control the police etc, and to start killing off scientists. Mike was on their ship in no time.

Now the new one... episode after episode with nothing but drama (including the irritating family crisis). Minute by minute there is way more pace in the old V.

Heh, 31 here, and an avid sci-fi watcher... watched V (both mini series, and the series) as a kid.

I also find the new V a little fast so your not the only one :P , they sort of blew through alot in the first episode, think they should have slowed it down a little and developed the tension, and slowly introduced the anti visitor feelings.

I grew up on the mini series and series. Long after it came out lol. I'm 24 and watched it when it was aired on tv in the early 90's. Tell me did anyone else get the impression that the new series might be a continuation of the old series? Otherwise how did they have Visitors already on the ground?

i don't think it's a continue because the entire earth seemed shocked to have visitors so if it happened before you would think someone would have heard about it considering just like now they spoke to the world from their ship above the earth. just a remake with a few changes

@samurai02008 I think having the visitors already on the ground may be the writers' way of giving it some sort of newness/freshness to the story - some sort of new twist to make it a bit original in it's own way. The idea actually reminded me of The War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version).

It's good, but honestly, the pacing is a bit fast. I like some shows with fast pacing, but so many are going that way now and it takes away from good character development. And when something big happens, I'd prefer to have more build-up to it. I think the networks like the fast pacing because they're just pushing for every quick/shocking scene they can get --- the more we tune in for the "shocking" moments, the more $ they make.

Dominique Dunne was only available for a few scenes before she was murdered. The actress who replaced her on short notice was Blair Tefkin--who is seen in all shots but one: In the very beginning, when the Maxwells are introduced, there is a scene in which they stand in the street staring at the invasive space craft, the back shot depicts Dominique Dunne and Penelope Windust (the mother) grabbing hold of one another.

v was the best miniseries since roots and the thorn birds. the t.v series had potential but too many pedestrian storylines. with what tech and graphics are now, v can live again. most of the original cast plus a few new-on like donkey kong
