  • Jim Prentice is a giant sell out, now he works for bell one of the monopolies he allowed the CRTC to get away with horrible UBB and only serves to sell out to the highest bidder.

  • lol...@ 2:37 listen very carefully, someone shouts out to Jimmy "How about you being shifted" lol...and he was shifted...I like it!

  • VOTE NDP To FLUSH The DMCA back to the USA!

  • The stupid part is this is all a money making scheme from whoever enforce these laws because they get to fine ppl hefty amount of cash that the artist, who's right are supposedly being trampled on, will not get so how is it helping protecting anyone?

  • Angus is an idiot

  • Private butler!!!! HAHAHAHA

This looked like monty pythons flying circus.....

  • again charlie angus is right. Iam an american . Here the corporations rule. We are to blame for the god forsaken mess called AOL time warner, you would at least expect a conservative republican to learn better. These copyrights laws arent meant to protect consumers, its ment to arbitrate ownership to other corperations and harm small business in other words the big 4 labels are trying to kill the other record companies, Hollywood is on the same boat cause they are owned by the same people

  • C-61 will be passed by Janurary 2010, it's true name is ACTA, a global DMCA Copyright Enforcement Trade Agreement being pushed through internationally by the powerful lobbyist groups of the RIAA, MPAA, and CRIA.

Soon Canada and the USA will become the Intellectual Property of the Powerful Recording and Motion Picture Lobby!

  • Haha. NDP BS.

  • @Fayceee They are all fucking shit.

  • @RobinDropping Yeah, I like Angus though.

  • @Fayceee So you have read C-61 then, and you understand it? You know that you will not be in violation of the law onces its in place? Ignorance of the law won't protect you from it.

  • what about the artists....quite starving us.

  • learn to spell

  • @LightingArts Bullshit artists never starve , you're not good enough .

  • For the first time in Canada, time shifting will be allowed, It never existed as law in the first place. It's a good thing JImmy is no longer industry minister.

  • wow, i though that Canada was a civilized Country. that jim prentice is an asshole.

go canadians, dont let him steal your rights.

in colombia conservators are antiques and old fashioned too.

  • well it looks like their Canadian tea party went swell!

  • C-61........SUCKS!

  • It really never fails to amuse me, seeing Jim Prentice pulling these things out of his ass.

  • Vote ABC - Anything But Conservative.

  • The youth won't be too happy if this bill gets passed. :)

  • Why can't our diplomats be funny on purpose? Bush would be funny if it wasn't because he was so clueless about what he was talking about.

  • Jim Prentice lies. Format shifting is only protected in the absence of a digital lock. See section 17 of Bill C-61, the proposed Section 29.21(1)(c): "It is not an infringement ... [if] the individual, in order to make the reproduction, did not circumvent a technological measure or cause one to be circumvented..."

The digital lock provisions overrule most of the "exceptions" provided.

  • Is this the house of comedy or the house of commons??

  • I see white people.

So much for the image we present to the world that we are multicultural.

  • Ya... but it's Canada, what are you gonna do? I doubt if you'd walk the streets of Vancouver you would see many minorities.

  • besides east indians and chinese

  • That's cause they are. :P

  • Jims just mad cause his ipod touch broke

  • lmao haha

  • This is the WORST THING CANADA HAS DONE!!!

  • It's bad, but it sure isn't the worst.

  • I agree, this is probably the worst thing the government of Canada has done since they proposed and passed GST...

and why is it always the conservative party that always propose things like this...

  • ... you mean besides spending billions of dollars killing people in Afghanistan and sending Generals, Military planners, JTF2 elite forces and war ships to help support the invasion and Occupation of Iraq, right?

.... or that whole residential school thing

  • It's passed already isn't it ?

  • the bill hasn't become law; the changes to our copyright act aren't recognized yet and hopefully never will be. generate more controversy and force our parliament to do the right thing by talking to your representative MP

  • Wow. Jim Prentice is such a douche. I may have to take out the time to actually view these debates live in parliament some time.

  • Can anyone tell me whats going on in Canadian politics? Does any of this mean we might finally decide to stand up to american corporate interests? When are we going to start kicking these corporations off our soil? May sound like protectionism.. but I think its time we reassess our agenda in light of fascist american corporatism.

  • Jim is a f***ing idiot. He's terrible at debating and that further proves he has absolutely no freaking idea what he's trying to get passed here.

Conservatives are going to be screwed and they won't get my vote if this even comes CLOSE to passing. What a joke.

  • Charlie Angus: Fuck Yeah!

  • Conservative party fails again to the corporate lobbyists and US republican party. They aren't even out of the Bernier thing yet!

  • How sweet is Question Period? <3 CPAC, but this bill is garbage. Tell your MP it is too please!

  • F@ck you Jim Prentice. We Canadians will bury you together with your bill.

  • Can we trade Alberta and Quebec for New York and California

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO are you stupid, if we traded alberta ther goes all our oil. some how we have to trade for minnisota without giving up any good prospects, maybe the maritime and a 1st draft pick for Minnisota might work

  • the funny thing is little to none of the oil collected in alberta is actually used in canada...

  • but it does provide alot of money to Alberta and Canada

  • You mean to the foreign oil companies who pay almost no tax to the provinces by design and almost no tax to the federal government through loophole?

  • You should trade Quebec for California if you can pull that off though, although don't take LA, that place sucks

  • although i do like quebec, i don't see the U.S. doing this trade. Quebec + 1st round pick in 09 + 2nd round pick in 09 for Florida + Minnisota i think could get done

  • lmao

  • Defend c-51 ?!! there is no defense for c-51

  • I listened to the Liberals debate C-51 and for the first hour they complained using letters from constiuents. Then just before the debate was over they began saying how they thought we needed it amended only a small bit showing the true colours of these bought off Pharma ownered traitors. There has been some sort of coup in Canadian government juust like the US and the lobbists SPP bastards are buying out our freedom and country. They are saying FU to all of us. Two faced bastards.

  • I wish I had something to disagree with you on, but you're right on all counts. Both our countries are infiltrated by globalist traitors

  • What a frikkin idiot. If this passes there is NO WAY I'll ever vote conservative again.

And that's all I've ever voted in the past.

  • Well punk rocker or not he is doing his job and very well

what bogus me is the old 8 track cassete that Prentice keep saying he doesn't answwers straight the questions and as far as i know there where no consultations to any canadians

  • Former Punk Rocker MP FTW!!

  • What a piece of shit. And, as a generally Conservative fellow, it takes a lot of bullshit to get me to vote NDP. Which I will likely be doing (its them or Green, the Liberals are dead to me)

  • Charlie Angus FTW!

  • Wow... where do I sign to have Massachusetts disassociate itself with the United States and reassociate itself as a Canadian Province?

  • When are the Liberals going to address this? I'm starting to hope, "never". A large number of them seem to be eager to get in line with the US on copyright.

  • I think "defend" is a misnomer. It is very clear that Prentice knows this bill is indefensible. Keep talking to your MPs!

  • Canadian or not, it's your duty as a human being to share this video and consider the ramifications of corporate control on America. The corporation does NOT have the authority to grant time-shifting and format-shifting exemptions - we already HAVE these rights. They are limiting legitimate use by creating locks which curtail legitimate use.

  • Everyone should listen to prentice's partial interview on CBC's' show search engine. Show's the minister's arrogance an reluctance to adequately address the issues raised in the bill.

  • Jim Prentice is a Hollywood tool. Everytime Charlie Angus brings up that fact that C-61 makes breaking DRM even for personal use illegal, Prentice does not address the issue and rambles off a list of "privileges" that were granted in the age of VCRs.

  • Absolutely absurd. Prentice continues to dodge any question relating to anti-circumvention, the most important part of this bill, and refuses to acknowledge that Bill C-61 criminalizes the legitimate daily activities of millions of Canadians. Use rights cannot be left to the whims of content corps. Prentice either does not understand technology or is declaring war on the digital generation.
