  • Big bellowing voice with no harmonics. The original key is not so high anyway. If we make excuses in the arts, the arts will suffer detriment.

  • She is my #1 Diva of all time...I absolutely LOVE the woman and the voice. She has no equal, but the only thing that ever annoyed me about her in recital (minor), is the way she would break character so quickly and go into the bow. I always wanted her to pause and remain in character a bit before giving into the bow. Brava, Leontyne!

  • Her voice should not be that big and resonate at 67!!!! HAMAZING!!!!! (I meant to put the H at the beginning)

  • Was this the recital at the Meyerhoff in Baltimore? I saw her perform there around late '94. It was a benefit performance for Morgan State University. I blessed my stars that I actually got to see her live, as I'd worshipped her for years and never thought I'd get the chance. I came along late! But not too late.

Possibly the greatest soprano of all time; yes she was 67 at the time of this recital. Check out her other performances esp on CD where you can really concentrate on the music!

  • FYI This was at Brooklyn College.

  • And that's the original key! I like how she's chesting those low instead of keeping them in head voice. You'd be very nervous to hear a young singer do that, in fear that it would age their voice quicker. At age 67, she does whatever she wants and we love it.

  • i don't like how she 'pop' the b in the middle....i've heard her do it better...but still a great preformance!!!

  • MALEDIZIONE!!!

  • WOW...She was 67 at the time of this performance. Not bad.
