Reason it sounds empty is because one of the mod channels is muted. If it wasn't, it would sound like it does in-game. I can redo it for ya if you wish. o;

it runs in dosbox as i got the full game off a freind that had it. runs fine in dosbox just lags on 3d and when there alot going on but stil kicks ass

One of the 4 tracks (the missing sounds) originally had the other channel inverted, so if the stereo output is downmixed to mono, the left & right channels cancel each other out => silence :(

Doesn't youtube allow stereo audio tracks too?

I wish I was able to get that DAMN DosBox to work on my laptop (Vista). I've got the entire game on a neat CDROM, but no... DosBox hates it. :/ And I only had the demo version, when I fell in love with it.
