Of the 27 new planes ordered by SAS, 14 of them are the Q400 and the rest are jets. Even though the Q400 is a stretch version of the Dash 8, no one calls it a Dash as they are very different. On the Q400, the wings are bigger, the engines are different at 5,000 horsepower and the body is much longer seating as many as 78 people. Did you check out the interactive website? Go to Q400 dot com. It shows the interior of both the passenger cabin and cockpit as well as the sound deadening electronics.
I WAS IN A Q400 today and it was definatly a Q400, it definatly looked likem the second plane int the clip here.
