Second, it's all in the grinding. Make sure that you apply even pressure back and forth with your pendullum and do not push too hard. Your pendullum should be set so that your cutters and combs are flush with the grinding plate. Some shearers have a slight angle either heel or toe grind but to start with you should have a flush level. About 3 to 4 easy strokes of the pendullum for cutters and 4 to 6 long strokes for combs. Hope this helps.
I have just got in to sheep and have the hardest time shearing. I dont know if it is me or the type of shears I have but it seems like they will not cut well and the comb gets hot, fast!
Bro first things first, make sure your handpiece (shearing tool) is set properly. An experienced shearer will no how to do this for you or you can buy a setter for around 10 bucks.
