@artline225 that man was in a different league then most of us. You realize he did crazy VO2 max training daily? Most runners, however high their talent and fitness, cannot do that kind of demanding training without recovery.
I'm 14 and my mile is 4:45 on avg. I'm going to be running the 2 miles I just dont know how?? If I run it like a. Mile I end up really tierd and get like 12 flat. Does anyone know what pace to run it in so I can get it under 11?
@Prodribbler360 that's fast for an incoming freshman, if that's what you are. If you have a good running program it should be no problem to adapt to the longer distance. I'm guessing you should run the first mile 5:20 and see how you feel. If you feel up to it, you can finish the second mile faster. If not... well noone can blame you for trying. It's trial and error at first, after a race or two you will know what pace to run. There's no shame in starting out too fast in your first race
Okay just like everyone else is saying... I'm in 8th grade and I just got back from our fist meet. After little training and being sick, I got a 5:34 mile, but I'm mad at myself because I could have done so much better.
@dsk803 nice job buddy, we have a freshmen on the team that had a 4:45 on the first mile trial. We call him the "prodigy" XD, maybe you can be that guy on your team
in the army i ran heel strike and got my fastest times ever but also had a lot more lingering pains. now i lengthened my stride a little and rotate from the ball of the foot in now. i was sore for awhile getting used to the new stride but its all good now. i can run a little further than usual without getting tired but it didnt really help me increase my speed.
In grade 8 track I ran 100m just under 13secs. I was also recovering from a sickness at the time. That was the first time I ever been tested. Im now 15 and can run low 12s and probably a high 11 on a good sprint...Why is tapu007's statement so unbelievable?........If this changes anything. Yes, im black -_- Only half black, but still.
Im a 15 year old high school runner. I run with heel striking but it gets the job done for me so I'm not sure what do do. I run a 4:57 mile 10:45 two mile and a 16:22 threee mile. Im torn and my coaches dont know. Should I change to forefoot and risk it or stay with heel striking?
IMHO, the most important thing is not whether your heal or toes hit the ground first but where you hit the ground in relation to your bodies CG. I suspect, at your age and speed that you have natural good form, but it is impossible to know without seeing. I predict your major problem as you get older and start running faster, is most likely going to be to prevent injury. Injury prevention might be the major benefit an "natural runner" such as yourself might see from PowerCranks training.
@UCheezyFoSho dude you need to run on the balls of your feet, theres black and white and the balls would be in the gray area, other than that I don't know what else to tell ya
Pretty damn sweet, this is the most underrated infomation ever....Plus the thing of getting strength to the lower legs will increase strentgh... like doing exercises to imporve those part.. requiring less oxygyn for them
I want the Power crank !

In 6 Seconds I Can Run 40 Yards. I'm Aiminq On Goinq Faster Than That. I Don't Even Think That's Fast...I Mean Is It?

its decent for a line player in football
backflipboy2000 1 year ago
@SoShanTASTiC No, average speed for a 40 in the NFL is in the 5 second range. A reciever or halfback will have it in the 4 second range.
