It is the spiritual experience that one gets there that is more important than doctrinal differences. I visited there and all I have is praised for them all. If your goal is reading without practice then this place is not for you.

Many people AREN'T aware of what they (as a TT member) officially believe. They just know that they'll choose to believe it because they see the "fruit" of their life as evidence that they're fulfilling God's plan for humanity. And the older ones acknowledge that maybe they'll turn out to be incorrect about specific doctrinal things-- but again, the doctrinal things aren't the important part for most of the people there. They value whatever helps them to become more loving.
I find the "They don't know what they believe" comment interesting.
In the community I lived in for 3 months, they believed the important part wasn't what you BELIEVED, but how you lived (and loved). It's not about what's "right or wrong", but what's "life-giving". Many members echoed the sentiment that if they found some other group that was more loving, they'd join that, but they don't believe there is a more loving way to live than the way they do (with their salvation process).
In the Communities you find different levels of experience, maturity, and understanding. If you visit, or join, it's good to connect with those who've been around and who are close to God. These members are more love oriented than rule oriented. They have grace. They deal fairly and in love when incidents occur. They don't get angry easily and aren't upset by honest difficult questions. They seek God's wisdom. They lift you up as a brother or sister. They want God's will.
I think the open sharing of positive and negative information like this is helpful to all concerned. Many newer members just aren't aware of what occurred in the past, and older members in the Communities often deny abuses that actually occurred as "malicious lies and slander." If individuals must repent of their sins, shouldn't whole communities as well? My prayer is that the Twelve Tribes will simply be and teach as God wants. Many people AREN'T aware of what they (as a TT member) officially believe. They just know that they'll choose to believe it because they see the "fruit" of their life as evidence that they're fulfilling God's plan for humanity. And the older ones acknowledge that maybe they'll turn out to be incorrect about specific doctrinal things-- but again, the doctrinal things aren't the important part for most of the people there. I find the "They don't know what they believe" comment interesting.
In the community I lived in for 3 months, they believed the important part wasn't what you BELIEVED, but how you lived (and loved). It's not about what's "right or wrong", but what's "life-giving". In the Communities you find different levels of experience, maturity, and understanding. If you visit, or join, it's good to connect with those who've been around and who are close to God. These members are more love oriented than rule oriented. They have grace. They deal fairly and in love when incidents occur. They don't get angry easily and aren't upset by honest difficult questions. They seek God's wisdom. They lift you up as a brother or sister. They want God's will.
