@wicked4u2c fuck up bullshit not 2 secs. i7 980x can't even do that.
And as for ssdisk (more like so suck dick) fuck up a core 2 duo couldn't do this and at least do this on a late operating system "oh my core 2 duo is so fast! It can boot up a fresh copy of windows 3.1 in under 19 minutes"
@KarateKid430 My Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz T7100 Mobile processor in Dell D630 managed to boot Windows XP in 5 seconds. If you don't believe me check my video on my channel. Windows 7 in 12 seconds and Windows Vista in 14. Core 2 is awesome.
But if you want to measure the SSD and windows performance it's best not to count the BIOS starting up since it has nothing to do with how fast the SSD is. Counting from when windows began loading, it took 7 seconds. Nice! Also there is this weird beach ball icon under your video. When I press it, it plays the sound of buzzing bees. Seems like a youtube trick. Look above views at the icons. 1st icon does this. I wonder how this got there.
Absolutely! I run a 32GB SSD with Windows XP, Office, Nero and a few Games like GTA-SA. Still have around 15GB left over. All my documents were moved to a HDD.
yah but I want speed on data too because i have programs that would fill that disk with out the os on it by it self currently my steam folder is 200gigs..
If you disabled the shutdown sound, you wouldn't have to wait for it to play while showing "Logging Off". Because that's the only thing you're waiting for and you can have the fastest drive in the world and it wouldn't matter. Plus, it's annoying, anyway.
its pretty fast but not blazing fast for a memory chip drive, me gigabte i-ram boots xp pro (untweaked) from 0 to desktop in 4 seconds flat, that mtron has write latencies of about 7 milliseconds wich is the same as a the average write speeds of the wd raptor, iram works in the micro-seconds range, only problem is that 4 GB wont seat vista. SSd's should soon get a speed overhaul and a massive price drop though.
write speed is often concealed when u buy an ssd drive or usb key,but a write latency higher than 1 Milisecond is unacceptable for an ssd drive. Volatile Ram drives have a write latency of 0.6 microseconds, write speed is what makes a drive blazing fast in boot times, app runs, and pagefile, not the MB/s transfer figures. MB/s counts only when copying large files from drive to drive. make sure you see random write speed mesured in miliseconds before you buy an ssd, if its concealed, dont buy it.
Micron has just announced that their new SSDs available in the fall with have sustained read/write speeds of 250Mb/sec & 100Mb/sec for the C200 and read/write speeds of 250Mb/sec & 250Mb/sec for the 3 times more expensive P200. Both are available in 2.5 inch form factor.
Plus they're silent and about 90% more energy efficient. So yeah, Finiras, it's worth the investment. Mtron SSDs will work for at least a 100 years. Data retention is guaranteed for 10 years, without them being powered once in between, even. They can handle shocks (earthquakes etc.), and much more heat. Try and beat that.
I have a Pentium 3 800 MHz laptop running off a 5400 rpm 20GB hard drive that boots a clean installation of XP Pro in about 13 seconds. People seem to think SSD means faster, and it only means faster random access times and NOT faster sequential reads - and sequential writes are even worse.
SSDs aren't what people think they are, not yet. They've got years to go before they'll match the performance of today's high end physical hard drives. But they'll get there eventually - just not yet. :)
Do you ever do any research before announcing something? How does the amount of data on your hard drive slow the startup? Yes it will if you're stupid not to disable the useless and unnecessary startup programs.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your LIFE SORRY
that's no longer the case. SSD is actually more reliable, at least for the top of the line ones like memoright and mtron. And for games, they fly. If you are a gamer, a pair of mtron or memoright drives in raid 0 is a must.
Read this Bitch- starting up the game Fear in comparison with WD Raptor of 150 GB lasted instead of 18.5 seconden only 3.2 seconden! Also copying folders with a size of 1 GB confiscated less than 4 seconden with the SSD raid configuration by no less than 28 seconden with the Raptor.
Oh my hecky god, my raptors are in RAID0 + your SSD is in raid !
The speed for both of my video and that video is the SAME SHIT ! With SSD you only get 16Gb of data but me i get 400Gb. I spent 500$ and i got 400Gb, he spent like the same 500$ and he got 16Gb.
I signed in just to tell you that you're a moron. It goes by either the rotation speed of the drive, or the architecture drive. Gigabytes do not measure speed when it comes to storage.
