Nissan offer free upgrades on all original models. It was their fault for trying to have staggering 0-60 times. They didn't need to. A generation on the 911 turbo still gets beaten around the racetrack.
The 911 Turbo isn't Porsche's Top track car and besides Porsche makes cars that actually involve the driver and are enjoyable to drive on the track and day to day. In the Nissan GTR the driver is basically driven vice driving the damn thing. It's not a driver's car there's way too much intervention, the steering is numb and it pretty much like playing play station. It's not even close to the feeling you get driving a true great sports car like those from Porsche
@mrcardio9r The GTR does not have numb steering and is certainly an involving drive. It can't compete with the likes of the 911 GT3/GT3 RS is terms of driving involvement because it has an advanced 4 wheel drive system. Why? So it can destroy supercars in performance. So don't compare RWD 911s to the GTR in terms of driver involvement because its not a fair comparison - and if you think the 911 turbo is any where near as involving as its RWD couterparts then think again...
not their fault that idiots think vdc off means launch control. nissan didn't design a launch control in the 09 version. nissan themselves took out gtr's, launching them with and without launch control and was hitting as faster or faster times w/o launch control. now they have a launch control that holds at 3kish rpm instead of 4500, and this doesn't void the warranty.
Try searching car and drivers site for "2010 Nissan GT-R Gets Its Launch Control Reprogrammed " They tested the 2009 launch control and went 0-60 in 3.2, the 2010 launch control came in at 3.8. It's common sense, AWD with a high RPM launch at 4400rpm will clearly smoke an 1800rpm launch. Drawback = broken tranny. Not arguing that the 2010 wasn't a good solution, just don't make crap up like it is just as fast if not faster, it isn't. Don't put a poorly tested feature in a car Nissan.

the transmission was already revised for the 2010 model, so it's naturally fast, without relying on the LC. Motortrend actally test the 2010 GTR at 0-60mph in 3.5sec without LC.
Why did they give it a tranny made of glass. Why put such an expensive bottleneck in an otherwise great car? Its like baking a marvelous cake but putting the severed finger of a Chinese prostitute somewhere in the bowels of the thing. It just ruins the whole experience.

You can't say Škoda is german just because VAG owns it?
Lamborghini is not less Italian because it is owned by VAG same for Bentley.
Also Chrysler is now owned by FIAT
that doesn't make it Italian.
Same with Jaguar it is owned by TATA but it is not Indian.

Lamborghini is quite a bit less italian, Audi have improved lambo cars a tenfold with their technology not lambos, I would say that makes them quite a bit german.

I tend to agree for the most part. The Honda S2000 and Mazda Miata would be rare exceptions. A lot of younger ignorant people don’t understand what differentiates an automobile that has “soul” over the ones that are merely “quick” such as the Nissan GT-R.

About Hondas i had a respect for them before, because they made cars with their heart but nowdays... their just there for the money, they droped out from motorsport completely.

the transmission was already revised for the 2010 model, so it's naturally fast, without relying on the LC. Motortrend actally test the 2010 GTR at 0-60mph in 3.5sec without LC.
