At the end of the video he smiles and waves with both hands to his friends and acquaintances from his hometown of Roseto Degli Abruzzi sitting in the back of the theatre. There was a large group of his fans from his hometown (central eastern Italy) that made the trip to Sanremo (in northwestern Italy) to watch their hometown singer win the award.

He appears so humble after winning the award. One scene only partly visible from the original longer version was when everyone was congratulating him for winning... he pulls 2 of his younger shorter friends from the back of the crowd of kids... to share his glory.... a thoughtful classy act... seen here: 1:37
