Filmmaking is a collaborative effort and as a Director I think Floria did a nice job. The film was based on a book by someone else so she had to work with those words. It is impossible to know where her Directing ends and the DP's work starts as well unless they talk about it. Lines can cross when making a film.

i agree that this video is a little obvious and perhaps not her strongest work, but in a way i think it represents the character. when one is living in a world that is run around one's pain, every thought about that Pain seems "important" and "urgent." and i think that is conveyed in a sense. this character would probably think it was all right on.

honestly, i think she should stick to music videos. i love her music videos, but this came off as pretentious. it had some good themes, but they could have been addressed in a less obvious way than spoken word. i don't think she has a grasp on narrative structure.

@Crackanese that's why i have my reservations about The Runaways as a story but I'm sure the sound and cinematography will be top notch.
