  • beautiful, a little slow, but still beautiful

  • first time hearing this song and loved it <3<3

  • 2:24 sends shivers up my spine every time.

  • I love her angel voice. reminds me of fairy tales

  • i am sorry i just do not think u have good voice my singing student is 12 and is better than you! but to be fair she has a amazing voice

  • It's my favorite rendition as well. great interpretation of the lyrics.

  • what a honey !

  • She IS good...isn't she?

  • Brilliant! Lea is THE BEST! I love her rendition of this song. In fact this is my favorite rendition, and for me this is better than the original. She sings eloquently, and by just listening to it, you can feel a sense of romance and her soft and sweet voice is relaxing. I also love the guitar, it makes the song sound more romantic. It's a song for a pure and honest love. :D

Kudos to Lea and the people who arranged this song! Such wonderful talents! :)

  • Lea's rendition of this song is lovely. Her voice brings the imagination of a girl softly whispering to a boy her feelings. Incidentally I also heard Gary Wilmot's version of the same song which is beautiful also. This is what a man would say to his girl. Thank God we have different artists performing in different ways to match our moods.

  • i like lea's voice... she's fantastic

  • what is this from?

    i love lea salonga btw

  • @ak92092 It's from Guys and Dolls

I'm singing it at an audition tomorrow :) I think it will go very well :)

  • goodluck!

  • Thanks, had it, will know the results soon :)

  • she has a lovely voice, but i dont like the way she sings this song. its a simple beautiful song, that doesnt need all her triils and bits added on. she is very good though.

  • The control she has over her voice is phenomenal... gah I hope I'll become half as good as she is, everything she does is flawless

  • Such a pretty woman, and the voice is just marvelous!

  • that is really good. i was listening to it, but not with this page up, and i was like wow. that is really good. she sings it with this innocence and a soft touch. beautifully done!

  • What an exquisite voice. Absolutely Beautiful.

  • i love how she made it her own. she has an amazing voice and i looooove guys and dolls.

  • could anyone tell me please what key she's singing? big thanks!

  • Key of G

  • One of the most beautiful songs written, ever.

A Frank Loesser composition from Guys and Dolls. And, so well done by Lea Salonga.

Thanks for this great clip. Happy it's still posted.

  • @kingusmcgee Amazing! The singer, the orchestra and the well-miced, well-mixed, perfect recording. Love her Brit. Watched the 1955 movie last night. And so went searching for it sung on youtube! What orchestra was this? And Frank Loesser forever: his words and music! :)

  • @Glinkaism1 : Manila Symphonic Orchestra, I believe. With Gerard Salonga, he brother, as the conductor.

  • @cefcute Thanks for the information. Hugs!

  • beautiful voice!~~

  • wow, an asian sarah, thats a first lol. but she has an amazing voice, i have just got the part of sky masterson in my schools version.

  • From Lea Salonga's Broadway Concert. This is my favorite song from the musical "Guys and Dolls", and I've liked the way it was done before by other singers, but Lea's version just takes my breath away! Just beautiful!

  • Simply beautiful. Do you have CD's? Wonderful orchestra too.

  • Wow! what a beautiful woman doing justice to a great old standard from Guys and dolls. Never heard of her, but with her looks and talent, there has to be a bright future.

Thanks cefcute for posting. Added to my favorites which I'll play many more times.

  • The artist you saw sing "I've never been in love before" is Lea Salonga, renowned Broadway artist and known for her roles as Eponine in Ms. Saigon and also the singing voices of Disney characters Princess Jasmine and Mulan.

  • I believe it's her brother, Gerald, conducting the orchestra.

  • eponine ins ms. saigon?

don't you mean Eponine in Les Miserables, and Kim in Ms. Saigon?

  • Whooppss... my bad... yes..

  • haha. it's cool. i was just making sure I hadn't go the roles mixed up...

  • @kingusmcgee : I am glad you like her. Her most recent big act? You will see her in the recently celebrated 25th anniversary of Les Miserables, where she played the role of Fantine. I believe DVD and Blu-ray copies of the concert are already available in the US and UK markets.

  • this song is so beautiful

    she has a great voice

  • I had the privilege of singing with this wonderful woman at her concert in Guam. Poorly attended, but was worth every minute. Kudos to this awesome artist.

  • :O:O:O!!! omg this was incredible!! such power!

  • Is this song from the musical Guys & Dolls? Does anyone know where this concert was held?

  • she had this concert when she went home to Manila a few years ago.

  • the Lea Salonga Broadway Concert was held in January (restaged June) 2002 at the PICC Plenary Hall in Manila

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! She really feels the song. I can see by her facial expressions and by hearing the dynamics in her voice. Also, the vocal techniques she uses accentuate the emotion. she's REALLY good!!!

  • she makes you feel the lyrics. my god its amazing

  • completely beautiful im jealous

  • cefcute, where do you get all these vids of Lea?!! Such a voice, and she makes it look so easy too! What a pitty she only seems to be active on the other side of the world these days ...

  • actually, she's not really into the businesess these days. she just gave birth. hence, taking care of her first baby becomes first priority

  • @kencillo : I can share my collection of her music with you. Or better yet, buy your own copies :-)

  • I can share with you my collection of her music. Or better yet, buy her CDs. I can tell you where. :-)

  • Whoa! This lady's voice's AMAZING!!! Absolutely PURRRFECT! Wow!!

  • AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING... SHE IS JUST FANTASTIC! MY IDOL! LOL x

  • i thought shes good at singing, well shes amazing, but i get bore easily and i got bored, but i enjoyed the beginning ! she is a very good singer !

  • i didnt get bored at the end part. i love the end part the most! well-sustained

  • @Rinielle shut your fat hole you cunt

  • @Rinielle fuck off you whiney asshole what do you know? you cant even speak English bored? !! haha only boring people get bored

  • Im not sure if "pliant" is a right word to describe Lea's voice.. hmmmm.... maybe Im wrong...

  • Playbill used the word pliant to describe her voice, too. What do you suggest then as the appropriate one?

  • Pliant is a good word - it means flexible or versatile. Lea's voice is like that for sure :)

  • the voice so beautiful

  • Not only does Lea sing angelically, but also she's beautiful! She really loves to sing and it shows - she's just radiant!

  • Wow.!!! This is my favorite song in her concert. Have watched her live!

  • so beautiful.

  • Brilliant! Lea is simply amazing. Thanks for the post!
