  • 1:27 Simba observing the stars ..... One of the most emotional scenes ever in that film!

  • Do not know bout you, but every single piece by Lebo causes a lump in my throat..

  • It's sooo beautiful. So so so so beautiful.

  • I love this song. I can sing with it and I love it! Reminds me of home in south africa(phalaborwa & Durban). The Rythm of the Pridelands

  • I have officially murdered the replay button. :)

  • and now go and listen to Hana Montana soundtrack..your ears will bleed, seriously

  • I love this song. Reminds me of my ethnicity-reminds me of my home. I'm of French nationality, but still.

  • how DARE there be one dislike!

  • i remember the first time i heard this song. I cried cause i remember that tune was playing when simba was trying to get mufasa to wake up. But i ove this song thanks for putting it up brings back memories

  • I bought this years ago on tape which included the songs and the meaning of the words. To bad i lost it when i moved.

  • @princessebony12 look in the description ;)

  • this is Zulu and sotho south african languages

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG! <3

  • It's just so beautiful, I don't think I could properly put it into words. I want to smile and close my eyes, then I want to cry. It's haunting and melancholy, the voices are breathtaking. I always hear a song and say, 'That's my favorite,' just because it moves me at the time, but I believe this is a tune that I could hear in 5 minutes or 10 years and still be moved. Thank God there's music able to do this; that's just what it comes down to.

  • 3:33 Hans Zimmer's theme at his best.. Beautiful!

  • Makes me wanna learn Swahili! So lovely.

  • @animallover2047 me too and Zulu :D

  • I like how Shadowland from the Broadway was based on this :)

  • The bass at the end is just... *shivers*

Most beautiful piece on the whole soundtrack <3

  • 3:33 is my personal favorite part, sends shivers down my spine.

  • Where is '"I love this to death" button??

  • (my first thoughts as the song ends and I find myself) ...Where am I? And why did this end? And why is my face wet?

  • lol this sounds like shadowland love it

  • what?! a dislike, where's rafiki, someone needs some sense knocked into them!

  • very haunting, very powerful. i can't listen to this and not feel at peace, no matter what kind of mood i'm in. wish i could learn to play/sing it.

  • Powerful Simply Powerful

  • This is just fucking awesome

  • Thanks for the childhood memories.

  • If you listen to the song "Shadowland" from the Lion King musical you'll hear that the music of "Shadowland" sounds like the the music from this song that's because this song became "Shadowland"

  • This is so beautiful...

    wonderful...

  • This song is so beautiful. I've loved it for more than a decade now and it still sounds just as wonderful with each play. <3

  • Such a great song!<333

  • Oh my gosh, you don't know how happy I am that I found this song. I had this album on cassette when I was younger, but the tape eventually broke/wore out. I have been trying to find this album, especially this song in particular, for so long ^_^

  • OMG, I love this!<3333 The pitch is perfect!<33 Man they don't make good music like this no more.

  • Man I have been in love with this song since the Lion King promoted this. Thank you for uploading it.

  • But this isn't Swahili, or? Here stand, it's zulu.

  • ..It's Setswana..

  • @Near116 It's Zulu.

  • I have the CD Rhithm Of The Pride Lands - It's sooooooooo great! Now I learn on a Website Kiswahili!

  • The image is awesome!!

  • YESS!! LISTEN TOT HE BASS CRUNCH ON 4:19 Work it Lebo

  • I have a burnt copy of Rhythm of the Pride Lands and I listen to it all the time I just love it.

  • You may know that this song is "Shadow Land" from the Lion King musical.

  • OMG!!! i love this n the sopranos are excellent not over powering the others it's just so balanced. the voices paint a beautiful picture. feel like im in the movie watching from the sidelines.lol. awesome

  • I love the 1:27 part. It's the part that's played in sad scenes, like Mufasa's death. D; It makes Lion King more sad than all of the other movies.

  • That's my favorite as well.

  • anyone know what the English version of this is?

  • shadowland.

i'm having trouble deciding which version i like better... the english version has more depressing lyrics i think, but i like how this one sounds better.

  • Thanks!

I had Rhytm once on cassette!

  • Uzo libusa [You will rule]

    Le lizwe [This land]

Uli buse kahle [Rule it with care]

    I JUST LOVE IT!

  • This is the best version ever.

    Makes me travel in times

  • those african chants make one tremble with joy..... excellent song!!! te lleva hasta las lágrimas por la sensación de grandeza, paz y felicidad!!

  • I completely agree. Those African chants just does something to me. They send chills up and down my spine. The thing I love about them is that you don't have to understand them to appreciate them. The harmonies are very tranquil and relaxing. I don't think the Lion King would be as great as it is if it were not for the beautiful music. I just love it.

  • yup!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song and Lala are my favorites. I just wish the choir repeated the opening chant more than just twice. I loved the beautiful harmonies in that.

  • OMG me too those 2 songs are my favorites.

I'm not tired to listen to them every day.

the hormonies make me travel in times.

    Best songs ever for ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I feel the exact same way. I think this type of music has healing qualities to it. It should be played in spas, hospitals and anywhere where someone may need to have their spirits lifted. Eventhough the melody is somewhat somber it still has an uplifting quality to it. I listen to it nearly everyday. I somehow managed to find this cd on ebay. Now I can play it where ever I go.

  • This song is so peaceful!! I luv it!! Be on

    B-Way FOREVER Lion King!!!!

  • Wasn't part of this used for the song Shadowlands from the Broadway play?

  • The music and I think some of the chants.

  • It is so good that there is no comment to best describe it.

  • Sensacional! Lindo!

  • this music gives one peace and tranquility.... breathtaking!

  • 3:33 when that instrumental starts, possibly this best moment of the song it's so so powerful it makes me want to cry but it just continues maintaining the awesomeness throughout, this really touches ones soul =')

  • I agree. But I think at 4:09 when the choir comes in is just as powerful. I love the sweet sadness of their sound it's so beautiful.

  • Yeah! My other favourite part is at about 2:12, when she sings lea halalela the second time

  • Yea that sounded great too. But my favorite was at around 4:15 when she says lea halalea. Her vocals along with that of the choir is so moving. And as the music rises again it gets even more powerful. I just cant say enough about the Lion King and this music. I love everything about them both. Disney is going to have to work pretty darn hard to top the Lion King as far as Im concerned. They may make a movie that makes more money than the Lion King, but they will never make another one like this.

  • agree 1000000000% its razy how muh i agree wit u bout everything u jus sed lol

  • Thank you! You know what I love most about this music is the fact that you don't have to understand the language to appreciate the music. This music and this song in particular would be a great way to unwind and relax yourself after a long hard day. I mean can you just visualize yourself sitting back in your recliner listening to this wonderful song? Whenever I hear it I see beautiful scenes of nature, beautiful fall foliage, the song just takes me places in my mind I never knew existed.

  • I totally agree!! And i alwys feel the same as you when i hear it!:-))

And an other nice part is when at aboput 4:31 the drums and all the other istruments come back. I love it-))) That's one of my very favourite songs!!

  • Thanks for putting this up. It is great!

  • I love this song.

  • ooohhh... ssooooo beautyful..... i wish i could give you more than 5 stars!!!

  • awesome, thanks!

  • Oh my goodness, I just realised. This was my favourite music score in the movie, I never knew it had words to it!

    It's so...beautiful *tears up*

  • this song became shadowed lands in the musical. It was also featured ( or a peice of it/ instramental) when Muffasa dies. Such a beutiful song...
