At the range Muldoon was at from the raptors, slugs vs. buckshot really would not have made that much of a difference, in fact I would argue that buckshot would actually be better for the given situation that he was in (as slugs are better for longer range, where as buck shot is better for short range.....unless of course you are hunting birds, but then why use buckshot for that?)

Now if only he did not spend all that time screwing around with the damn stock.....
