  • Thumbs up if you remember Josh in Thrashin!

  • Great movie.

  • Pt2.Cont.& he takes a type of 'god'-like (satan is called 'the god of 'this' world) pleasure in administering it - his execution of Welles. The sherriff is as close as it gets 2 God-(the Father),he is concerned, compassionate & wants to help-&acknowledges the predicament Moss is in plainly-but is then made to look incapable of protecting him. There is no real Jesus character as such. The real God is fully capable of protecting all from satan/death & has defeated them through His son Christ Jesus.

  • Pt1. Was just thinking about this one.The Trinity idea doesnt fit too well I think. If u want 2 analyse it in a biblical light, here's what I think: Moss represents all fallen men (he's an opportunist, a thief-he still took something that was not his, he's still a sinner who needs help whether he'll admitt it or not, whether he know's it or not). Chigurh is either/or both: a principality of death/satan himself (because 'death is certain'...

  • Wow could they have found a bigger flamming queen to give the interview? He was drooling all over himself.

  • What do you mean? You can apply the Holy Trinity idea here. However, I think if you're going to apply it God would be Anton.

  • @UncomfortableSilence That's a good template, or I would put Anton Chigurh in the Holy Spirit category as well...thanks for watching!

  • BEST SCENE IS WHEN HE SAYS ILL TELL HER MYSELF

  • Who is this fruity Filipino interviewer? I swear Filipino men don't do the gay thing well.

  • interviewer streched for the biblical bit. not every good movie is biblical references.

  • @dgb751 Author Cormac McCarthy is known for infusing his work with biblical references, and if you had seen the Coen brothers' latest flick, A Serious Man, that was loaded with biblical references as well -- hence, what I was asking had some foundation -- but ultimately, I think, the film is about failed redemption...

  • It should be pronounced ''Chlewellyn", not "Lewelin". It's a Welsh (Celtic) name.

  • 0:20....did he say "Now with 'Slow country for old men'"? lol!

  • the guy most be gay

  • interviewer is hilarious

  • lol, look at the tag words, "Gay Film Critic" is in there.

  • The Holy Trinity? BS!!!

  • I'm not familiar with the Holy Trinity (and I don't think I should), but can you apply anything with 3 on it as a biblical reference, like my breakfast = sausage, eggs, and hash browns or my pencil holder = red marker, yellow hi-liter, and bic pen or my eyeglasses = frame, lens, and plastic things for the bridge of the nose, with each object representing something biblical?

  • Characturrrrr.

  • Holy Trinity?? REALLY?? Exactly how does Chigurh play into the trinity you moron? Who the hell is Tommy Lee, God? Shut the fuck up and quit pushing your bullshit religion on people who are actually capable of intelligent thought. "I always thought as I got older, God would come into my life. But He didn't." Pay attention you cock gobbling moronothon.

  • Hi there, Cormac McCarthy, the author of the book, is known for his religion metaphors...if you read the book, you'll know what I mean...but thanks for watching, and have a great weekend!

  • @mdelar

Good insight. You are correct. In fact his books are littered with biblical metaphors and allusions.

  • @mdelar umm yeah I'ma gonna have to go along with what FallenKain said, and say REALLY?!? i mean, I've read the book, and we discussed it's plot, themes, allusions to good and evil, analyzed trifecta, and no one ever thought, "oh yeah, it's like the holy trinity." So umm yeah maybe we missed it, could you explain further this allusion?

  • Who is the Fairy conducting the interview?

  • Isn't political correctness wonderful? To put not only the viewer but Josh Brolin himself through several minutes of prissy, obnoxious Q and A, simply to be able to say; "hey, look how sensetive the movie industry is to gay people".

  • Comment removed

  • wtf holy trinity? juz becoz there r 3 protagonists dont make it any more conceivable..who's playing the father, the son n the holy spirit?

    shitty gay interviewer...FAGGOT

  • I think josh brolin feels uncomfortable with the interviewers open gayness. Couldn't he have toned it back a bit, it felt almost like he was hitting on Josh Brolin, poor bloke!

  • He looks like he's having fun with it to me. Its a funny interview! I mean he did co-star in Milk, I doubt he's homophobic.

  • well said dementia you have proven my theory wrong, with your witty undertones. :)

  • I disagree, I don't see any sign he was phased. He did play a bisexual in flirting with disaster and had a semi-sex scene with a man. I think Josh is really secure, he's always kissing other men on the cheek.

  • The Problem I have with this story is that, there is no way Brolin's character would have found a million bucks in a case by that dead Mexican under the tree. Who ever shot that mexican, would have taken the doe.

  • all the mexicans shot each other up. The mexican under the tree was last man standing/ultimo hombre-- but still too wounded.

  • O.K. that makes more sense to me.

  • a doe, a deer, a female deer. you mean dough I believe.

  • ooh love me some Brolin! Sexy Ass!

  • this fool is no interviewer for real actors is he. holy trinity? gimme a break. go back to interview school.

  • he was completely awesome as doc block.

  • the interviewer reminds me of lloyd from entourage

  • Who the fuck are you? I don't know if you're trying to be funny, but if you ever say anything like that to me again, don't think for a SECOND that I won't contact authorities.

  • wow thats badass!

  • dang! youtube fight up in da house! that interviewer is so sickeningly gay

  • He'll always be a goonie on a little girls bike to me!

Great actor, pleased he's doing well

  • Ijust love the interview!Manny is great and Josh is hot!! :)

    Kisses from Brazil

  • Hi there! Thanks soooo much!

    Kisses from Palm Springs :)

    Manny

  • what year is this movie plz?

  • 2007...the year it swept all the awards :)

    Manny

  • Manny, you rock! I loved the interview. How in the world did you keep your composure in front of this a sexy, gorgeous man? I don't care about the hateful comments. You were professional and offered a critical analysis to the film that rarely surfaces in short interviews. Good job. :)

  • Thanks so much! I don't care about those hateful comments either :) And yes, Josh is super hot in person! I can't wait to talk to him for "W." And just a quick plug...I'm posting my interviews with the cast and directors of "Choke," "Nights in Rodanthe" (Richard Gere!!!), and "Eagle Eye." :)

    HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

    Manny

  • Probably I'm very late to comment on this vid but I enjoyed watching it. Josh Brolin seems like a very easy going approachable dude. Great interview Manny!

  • Thanks! Josh Brolin is a very smart and affable person, and can't wait to interview him again :)

    Manny

  • No offense manny but I would have loved this interview if Brolin had more to say. I wanted his perspective and not yours although it is impressive that youve gone so deep into it, McCarthy's obsession with biblical analogy and so on. Its nice to see this level of involvement.

  • Thanks! Will keep that in mind next time...it's just that I was sooooo excited when I saw this film last year, fresh from watching that...and I wanted to discuss it...it's more a discussion than an interview...but thx for watching! Manny

  • Until this movie I didn't realize how seXy Josh Brolin really is:) Yummy... but in the movie am I to assume Sugar:) finds the money? It ended like a foreign film:)

  • :) From what we're led to believe, the "Mexicans" found the money in the motel, that's why they were fleeing furiously as Tommy Lee's character was entering...thanks for watching! Manny

  • that was such a good interview. you're so happy :D i loved it XD

    good job lovey

    x

  • Aw...thanks bunches :) Have a great day! Manny

  • Honestly I didnt follow on the "holy trinity" Idea. If you want to read into this film in a biblical way you could make the argument that Jones' character represents God, Brolin the "Everyman" and Bardem represents the devil. And the people who point out the sexual preference of the interviewer obviously did not understand the subject matter enough to comment on topic.

  • Thanks! The whole point was Cormac McCarthy, the author of the novel, always alluded to religious messages in his novel, so I looked at "No Country" as such...but hey, your take on its religious symmetry is spot on as well! Thanks again! Manny

  • that was a good interview, dont know why everyones on your back

  • I know...that's okay, not everyone gets me :) Thanks for watching and have a great week ahead! Manny

  • What a horrid interview... It's more about the interviewer than the interviewee. I'd love to hear this wonderful actor's thoughts on his character and the film, but instead I've gotta hear some hack "holy trinity" analysis. Waste of 2 minutes with a true talent. Oops.

  • Points well taken! I'd take this criticism over attacks on my sexual preference...thx for watching aeolus01! Manny

  • i dont have a problem with gays,

but any faggots try and touch me ill knock their fucking teeth

  • well good for you! thx for watching :) Manny

  • The interviewer is obviously a fag.

  • Wow...what a great observation there 30CALM1...and I love the term "obviously" like I was trying to hide it lol :) But as always, thanks for watching! Manny

  • yes, I think those mexican dudes took the money...the Coen Brothers virtually lifted Llewellyn Moss' death scene by scene from the book by Cormac McCarthy. I kinda thought it was clever actually, when the last shot you saw of Moss alive was by the pool, then it faded to black. Thx for watching! Manny

  • ok could some one tell me how they form the trinity?

  • The interviewer is awful?

  • what the hell is wrong with that guy?

  • um nothing :) thx for watching! Manny

  • The interviewer is a joke.

  • aw...but I wasn't joking lol :) thx for watching though! Manny

  • The interviewer is a smart dude, I don't care if he is gay. He came up with an analogy that no one else thought of. Good biblical comparison, "3" is always a magical literary concept. Please tell us more about the "Milk" film. Salaam.

  • Thanks rayburne...in order to analyze the film, you have to look at its original inception...which was Cormac McCarthy's book...Mr. McCarthy is known for infusing his work with biblical allegory...and that's how I infused my own thoughts...3, is indeed, a magical literary concept! Manny

  • what a fag

  • nooooooooo really? I can't believe that! I was trying to act butch lol :) Manny

  • hahaha i cannot get enough of the interviewer

  • :) I'll take that as a compliment :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • He seems like a very nice guy.He is cool.I liked his character also.

  • yeah, and Josh Brolin is getting all these fantastic roles...I can't wait for his film "Milk" coming out in the fall about the life and times of Harvey Milk, the first outspoken gay Mayor in San Francisco, with Sean Penn playing the part, and Gus Van Sant directing! Can't truly wait! Manny

  • hes going to be playing george w bush in a movie too now thats going to be pretty interesting!

  • I know...I can't wait for that as well! There's a leaked script with that film, and I heard that Oliver Stone is going to showcase Bush as a wild-partying animal :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • Who cares if the guy is gay. The problem is... does anyone REALLY, naturally talk like that? If I went around doing a chipmunk voice, people would probably start to wonder what was wrong, or get annoyed.

  • It's my natural voice...I swear...thanks for watching as always :) Manny

  • Josh was so respectful and laid back, I really enjoyed seeing this side of him. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Plus he can really act and he has those "leading man" good looks.

  • Agree 100%! Thx for watching elysemadden! Manny

  • Manny awesome interview,i respect you.

  • Thanks so much Haimster1986...your comments just made my day :) Manny

  • What's with all the gay hate on this videos? I'm a conversative hetero, and I quite like Manny's vids on YouTube. Keep 'em coming man.

  • Thanks darkram13...for every hater, I get a great folk like you, so that's okay...it all balances out :) Have a great week!!! Manny

  • manny, r u philippino? plz say no

  • Well odiousoddity...I can't lie...yes, I'm a Filipino, and proud of it :) Manny

  • lol kk was only joking, im half. u remind me of my cousin/aunt lol

  • :) Well that's good...I think :) Have a great week! Manny

  • yo dude how much do u make for a living doing this interviewing buisnatch

  • yo dude..not much...I'm still poor :) Manny

  • that chink is the epitome of dirty gay fudge packer i just couldnt take him seriously.

  • with words like that, I don't need your respect :) but thx for watching! Manny

  • Manny,

Fair enough. To each their own.

I still think the interviewer coulda done better. Thanks all the same for posting vids on youtube :)

  • See? We can still be friends...that's how the world should work :) Thx and have a great weekend! Manny

  • Wierd. The "interviewer" is a sycophant who introduces the 'trinity' as an allegory. Josh Brolin seemed like he keen for a discussion about the movie. Shame it was spoiled by inept interviewing

  • It may be a waste for you, but not for me...I had a blast! This sycophant guy goes on with his inept interviewing lol :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • And the moral of the story kids is don't do drugs

or that man will come after you

    CALL IT!!

  • Friendo! :) Manny

  • that chink is the epitome of dirty gay fudge packer i just couldnt take him seriously.

  • I'm a dirty gay fudge packer...only on TV :) lol...oh please fuddyboi...I don't want to be taken seriously :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • i don't see the trinity reference... just don't get it on this one.

  • right now its the actor of the moment and the world without a doubt. He does full the screem, his feautere its very powerfull

  • I love this man <3

  • I have to say - Brolin does not seem so comfortable there; Hillarious responses and mannerisms.

  • great observation touchogrey! thx for watching :) Manny

  • Is that all you can respond with; some passive aggressive optimism? Clearly thats not the firs ttime he's heard an over intellectualized sophomoric idea about the symbolism in the film

  • touchogrey, if you want to talk about the movie, tell me so, not in your "passive agressive" way of slamming the interview...you know what I mean? Manny

  • in the interview or in the movie ??

  • that has got to be the most gay chink i have ever seen

  • Aw come on WhiteEuropa...surely, you've met a "gayer chink" thank me! lol...thx for watching though! Manny

  • Javier's character is the embodiment of controlled, remorseless violence. I made the mistake of not catching the movie in theaters, but Ill be buying the DvD the moment it comes out. He sends chills down my spine, and in this desensitized world, thats quite an accomplishment...and so what if he's gay, let him be gay...to each his own man.

  • The film is still out in theaters wizbango! Thx for watching! Manny

  • And the moral of the story kids is don't do drugs

or that man will come after you

    CALL IT!!

  • FRIENDO! Thx NASA19 :) Manny

  • Finally, an intelligent movie for adults. "No Country" is brilliant, it reminds me of the intelligent creepy thrillers of the 70s. Josh Brolin's performance was surprisingly good. Highly recommended.

  • I can't agree with you more! Thx for watching! Manny

  • Totally. Movies today are so special effects heavy and writing light. This movie was like a breath of fresh air.

  • the ending is perfect considering its no country for old men the sheriff is to old to compete with these new comers thats why he just chills throughout the movie

  • no offence intended, i heard a review where they felt it ended on the wrong character? ridiculous .who should it have ended on? i thought it was a great film and i was happy with the ending.

  • no offense taken! I love the film, and the ending, and the source book as well! I voted for No Country as my favorite film last year...great observation rayruffles! Manny

  • whos the gay guy doing the interview, this film was awesome

  • the gay guy is me rayfuffles...check my profile! Thx for watching :) Manny

  • and why are you so gay, gay guy :(

  • and why not archibalt777 :) Thx for watching though :) Manny

  • The holy trinity?... what a wank interview... he was patient with him.

  • I guess I should have paraphrased it that author Cormac McCarthy is known for his religious symbolisms in novels (I had to cut it out)...But thank God...no pun intended lol...Josh was sweet to me! Thx for watching though :) Manny

  • That interviewer is off his nut. What a weirdo. The Holy Trinity?

  • read the book petethebossross! But, thx for watching :) Manny

  • His wife is hot.

both in movie and real life

  • Honestly i didn't know who the fuck josh brolin was until i saw this movie and i was impressed. Big stars dont necessarily make good movies, the only real big name in this movie was tommy lee jones and even so he's fairly low key. But there wasn't really any bad acting in this movie.

  • yeah, and now Josh Brolin is about to star in two big films, one directed by Gus Van Sant in "Milk", and the other, by Oliver Stone, where Josh is going to star as George W. Bush! Thx for watching! Manny

  • What about Thrashin or The Goonies. His Career works

  • Yup that's true! I've loved him since his Brand Walsh character in The Goonies :) Manny

  • Yeahhhhh Goonies.

  • Josh Brolin always has the right things to say it seems like...like no matter WHAT he is being asked or anything...he just seems SO relaxed and honest about everything.

    seriously...HES THE MAN.

  • In reference to Ptrgamb; I too will try to work that in as many times as possible! Just saw the movie tonight. To say that it's a Coen bros movie is usually compliment enough, but this time it's not enough. Why do Nicole Kidman and the like continue to be paid millions when mesmerising, adorable actresses like Kelly Mcdonald only pop up once in a while?

  • love kelly mcdonald...but the "star" business model in Hollywood is quickly fading...they're starting to notice that a "star" alone can't carry a film, i.e., Tom Cruise in "Lions for Lambs" or Reese Witherspoon in "Rendition" -- both flopped! At the end, it's the quality of the film that really matters!

  • Both of those movies were garbage, that's why they didn't do well. Maybe we're not at odds, but people just weren't going for what those movies were all about. Hollywood makes movies they like and that's not necessarily what America likes.

  • "No Country" made more than $50 million, at a budget half that with little marketing capital, I'd say that movie made money, don't you think? Thx for watching! Manny

  • mdelar: No Country is a great movie! I was replying to someone elses comment. For some reason the comment didnt show up under their comment but at the begining instead. No arguments here man, No Country is one of my favorite movies.

  • god what an annoying fag, that "manny", i want to slap him in the face and make him to stop asking fucking idiot questions

  • do you really want to hurt me ronny0ragtroll? but as I've said...I only play gay on TV...I'm a really straight macho guy LOL...thx for watching...and chill out next time, you don't want to be all ratted out in 2008! Manny

  • lol why do you act so gay on tv then ?

  • I can't help it...it's in my nature :) lol...Manny

  • I'm going to see how often I can work "Call it...Friend-O" into conversation in 2008. Whoever is hosting the TV review program with Richard Roeper now pointed out that Josh Brolin shot dogs in two movies this season. Roeper responded "well, one of them had it coming."

  • wow dude, you're an idiot. Quentin Tarantino is one of the best directors in the history of Cinema. Watch Kill Bill (especially Kill Bill 2) which is one of the best movies ever created. Reservoir Dogs is special, so i can understand you not liking it, but it's still an amazing movie; you must recognize that.

  • I think Kill Bill and Uma Thurman were both criminally overlooked awards-wise...but yeah, I agree with you...when you look back at the great directors of American Cinema...Tarantino will be there...his next flick is called "Inglorious Bastards" set for 2009 and he describes his World War II heroes as "Not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II."

  • Ha, I'm an idiot because I think Tarrantino is overrated? That's really ignorant seeing as how you know nothing about me. Kill Bill2 and Pulp are good. Other than that, he's basically a hack who depends on dialogue that's obviously written for the purpose of being unique and quirky and fails miserably in comparison to people like the Cohens. Kids can't respect other's opinions and you're apparently a kid.

  • I tend to agree with your sentiments. Tarrantino relies on gimmicks, and even if that is purposeful, it takes away from his movies. He does tend to overshoot the importance of dialogue. there's really not much to his movies... but you know who is infinitely worse is robert rodriguez.

  • Eh, personally, I think Tarrantino is kind of a hack. Pulp Fiction is the only real quality I've seen from him. I didn't even really like Resevoir Dogs. DeathProof was a waste. But to each their own.

  • Great observation but Tarantino single-handedly changed the way a film is made in the 90s -- he's one of the most influential directors of the decade -- think of ALL the copy cats that followed "Pulp" -- "Reservoir Dogs" is a great flick...and it still holds up to this day...just my humble opinion :)

  • Brolin was in American gangster too? I didn't know that. He's in 2 of the best movies of the year.

  • he's also in Grindhouse in the Planet Terror episode as Doctor William Block...if you've seen the film...you'll remember his character...

  • shit, i feel bad for brolin. he looks way tense being so close to that crazy gay asian dude.

  • Yup...I'm a crazy gay Asian dude...well, not that crazy lol :) but don't feel bad for Josh...he had fun :)

  • I don't know who will win the Oscar him, or Javier. He was that great to rival Javier Bardom in this film.

  • I know...but you know what? The Best Supporting Category is overcrowded...and everyone's a winner...Casey Affleck in Assassination of Jesse James is getting lots of buzz...but my heart...and my head still tells me it's going to be Bardem...I think Miramax is going to push Brolin for Best Actor...and he will be nominated for that...

  • holy trinity... what a retard. you can tell brolin thinks the guy is an idiot.

  • OUCH...lol...he actually said I had fun Manny...and it's all caught on tape...I just didn't include it in for brevity...but thanks for watching

  • Manny is ridiculous. To describe his character as 'Marlboro man with a big heart' is borderline insane.

  • agreed... what a ridiculous thing to say.

  • I borrowed that from the production notes of the film that Josh actually said first! Yes...I stole that line from him! He actually added "with a big moustache" after I said with a big heart -- but I was just keeping it concise...and flowing...thx for watching!!!

  • great interview Manny! thanks for this! I love Josh Brolin! watch this movie!

  • this guys asks the dumbest questions. i feel bad for josh brolin in this interview.

  • What are you watching dude? This Manny dude actually asked good questions, like Josh's old movies, his character, religious stuff...bro, quit being jealous!

Manny the Movie Dude...WE LUV YOU!!!!

  • im sure if you asked josh brolin after this interview what he thought of this guy he would have told you how big of a tool he was and how stupid his questions were.
