I loved X—one of my favorite FF games (with VIII and VI). I invested a lot of emotion in this game. The character interactions were spot on and character development was realistic enough to keep me caring about them. It was fun seeing Wakka grow from a religious nutcase to an enlightened individual. Tidus eventually stopped whining and decided to kick ass, and Auron is just cool. Puzzles were a bit annoying, but the Sphere Grid is still the best advancement system of any FF.

What was Square smoking when they made Tidus, Yuna and Wakka?

I knew Square wouldn't be able to top FF9 (My favorite RPG ever), or FF6 or FF4 for that matter, but when I saw FFX... wow... just wow.

@cpufightclub Well I think it has the best soundtrack (Even Uematsu agrees there), it has the best job system in the series except maybe FF5, it is similar to the first 6 games in many ways (And I grew up with FF1-6... or at least FF1, 4 and 6), its art style is perfect (the best I've ever seen in a game, in fact), the characters are very well designed and developed (Especially Vivi, Zidane and Kuja), and it's one of the few games to truly bring out my emotions.

Awesome. IMO FFX is the best of the series in terms of gameplay, strategy, characters, story and hours of gameplay. The only thing that X didn't do as well is really, the RPG element to leveling up and abilities. The Sphere Grid, although was innovative, was too linear and took way to long to overpower wheras in the older FF's, each character was limited to their own abilities and was able to get to it quickly if you just perservere a little.
